- Tawna was the very first female character introduced to the Crash Bandicoot series, only to get removed in the sequel. Why is that? With Crash Team Racing [CTR] Nitro-Fueled now in the picture, Tawna and the formerly known Trophy Girls have returned as part of the roster. I enjoyed there inclusion in this game. And how they went from just trophy girls to fully fleshed out character racers. They certainly blew up in popularity in the community since no doubt. I wouldn’t mind seeing more of them in some form.
For Liz's popularity she has armalizo and "biscuit anyone" to thank for that.

I love Tawna & The Nitro Squad/Trophy Girls so very very much,they probably are my favorites in CTR Nitro-Fueled.
I think they have potential to be featured in a new future Crash game and give them some added development and interact with and love Crash even more.

I definitely can see the nitro squad returning in a future game, they are very popular after all, a lot of people play as them in Nitro Fueled, so yeah, plus the idea of them making a cameo during a yoga session where Crash barges in would be pretty good, be like that scene in Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse where a class session gets ruined because of Miles Morale. XD

Interesting that Tawna was originally supposed to be a femme fatale character of sorts. I think that would be a cool direction for her to go in the series. Having her work against Cortex (or whoever the next villain might be) in secret, feeding information to Crash and Coco. Maybe even make it so that her and Coco don't get along too well, as a reference to how Coco was effectively made to replace her.
Speaking of Brio turning against Cortex: it's always been a pet peeve of mine that no post ND developer has ever understood who N Brio is. He's always portrayed as a villain working with Cortex but in Crash 2, he and Cortex were deadly enemies, and he even worked with Crash and Coco to create a laser to destroy the Cortex Vortex. If he is in the next game, I'd like to see him in the role of a frenemy. He can't quite be trusted, and has his own hidden motives, but provides aid to Crash against Cortex. Perhaps giving Crash mutation powers in return for some sort of collectable.
As for the trophy girls, I had no idea there was any sort of hate for them. Except perhaps for Ami, and that was just because everyone used her back in the first grand prix, so people got sick of the sight of her. I don't think their role in a future platforming game should be big like some people are saying. I think that restraint should be exercised rather than diving head first into fan service, but a brief cameo would be nice.
N. Brio is something alright, that's exactly why a video will be dedicated towards him.
Yeah, I think it'd be neat if Brio appeared in a support role, offering you useful potions in exchange for Wumpa coins or ingredients or some such. "Stronger spin attack? Extra hit point? MOMENTARY INVINCIBILITY!? You want it, I can make it, for the right price of course."
You know, it's pretty interesting that Cortex would develop a crush on Tawna like that... considering in Crash Tag Team Racing, he specifically had an unused line in which he wants to claim Tawna as his trophy wife. _SCRAPPED LORE_

Also fun fact the trophy girls each reflected the starting roster characters winning animations Isabella supporting crash and coco, Megami with Cortex and N.Gin, Liz with Polar and Pura, finally Ami Which supported Tiny and Dingodile respectively.

I honestly just found it so weird upon release of CTR nitro fuelled that the nitro squad wasn't in the game at launch. I really missed given them out trophies compared to the original game. but I love their new looks 1000 times more. way better than they could've ever been!

Would love to see a history/theory/speculation video about N.Brio and N.Gin, these characters have always been intriguing to me, especially N.Gin, I mean the guy has a missile in his head... need I say more?

I'll say that out of all the GPs we've had so far for Nitro Fueled; Nitro Tour definitely had the best character line up out of them all, Nitro Squad you could get a bit of an idea as to what they were like in the original CTR with the credits sequence for them but they weren't really fleshed out as characters in that game, one of the things this game does a lot right. They all just have colourful personalities and their character designs are also fantastic as well, Beenox really did outdid themselves in this department and it makes me hope to see them again in another game down the line, maybe like have them as a huge team working with Crash and his friends/family. Either that or maybe have them somewhere in other levels for him to meet and get help from.

I like the Nitro Squad. Because I like their designs made by Beenox. They're beautiful, and they look good with their newest designed for kid friendly game for Crash Bandicoot franchise made by Vicarious Visions or Beenox instead of sexual designed made by Naughty Dog games when people were complaining about it. And I'm glad Tawna finally is back with her new look of her new designed in Crash Bandicoot: N-Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled as a new racer. And especially the Tropy Girls which is known as the Nitro Squad are back as the new racers in Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled. 🙂
I like Isabella, Megumi and Liz. They look really nice. My favorite Nitro Squad member is Ami Bandicoot. She's beautiful, she's a tomboy, she's been working out, she's a tough girl, and it seems that she became a boxer when she does the podium animation. And I see why she wanted to be a racer. Because she's been sickened giving the winning trophies to the winners. So she decided to be retired to be a trophy girl, and she became a female racer to get in action of her dream came true! 😀
And I could imagine that Crunch and Ami will be together as couples on the next new Crash game just like from the deviantart fan art . 🙂
And my other favorite Nitro Squad member: is a main leader of the Nitro Squad: Tawna Bandicoot. Man, she was beautiful, and pretty, and she's also a tomboy. I can see why she doesn't wanna be captured as damsel in distress when she punched that Lab Assistant. Just like what she said in the CTR TV. No one will catch her. Those bad guys better watch their backs! 😀
And speaking of couples, I still wish for Tawna to be reunited with Crash as his girlfriend once again instead of being with Pinstripe in new Crash Bandicoot game. 😔💔

Let's be honest: Nitro Squad fans would be thrilled if they got their own game. Amazing that these girls went from being simple fanservice to bona fide spinoff material. And yeah, I'd be cool with it if they got to play a role in the next big Crash game. Make them playable heroines in their own right, even if you have to unlock them by rescuing them first. I mean, the classic Crash formula groups levels into five sets, and there are five members of the Nitro Squad, so each time you beat a boss, you rescue one of the Squad, unlocking her for play.

@@VtnVivi Alternatively, what if Tawna got her own game where she meets and rescues Megumi, Ami, Liz, and Isabella from a female doctor named N. Tyce? Tyce plans on turning the five of them into commandos herself, and Tawna ain't having none of that. As an end-game twist, Tyce baits Tawna into a trap, forcing her new friends to rescue her in turn. Once Tawna is rescued and Tyce is defeated, the five friends discuss a racing championship coming up and decide on their team's name: Nitro Squad!
Such a game would explain why Tawna wasn't around in Crash 2 and 3 - she was busy being a hero herself! And they could turn the spinoff into its own series, introducing additional villains with punny names like N. Telle, N. Trude, or N. Twine, not to mention more mutant bosses. If Tawna 1 coincides with Crash 2, Tawna 2 could coincide with Crash 3.

Personally, I'd like to see the Nitro Squad return in a future Crash game, running an item store in between levels to help Crash out, kinda like in the Donkey Kong Country Returns games.

Actually, the whole "Tawna leaving Crash with Pinstripe" thing was actually mentioned in Crash Boom Bang, so that event is canon.
Wasn't Crash Boom Bang also the only crash game developed by a Japanese studio?
I heard some were that tawna left crash for pinstripe cause of coco but that made no sence to me the sorce was pritty sketchy as heck and now your telling me tawna did leave crash for pinstripe that still makes no sence its like tawna joined the side of evil it makes no sence at all.

You kinda made it sound like Tawna went through Cortex's experiments BEFORE Crash and that she was a failed experiment... but that makes no sense, because Cortex's experiments lie in a two-step process... the second step being the Cortex Vortex, a brainwashing device Crash went through, but Tawna has NOT (and Cortex certainly planned to, hence the quote "Prepare the female bandicoot").
Sure, Tawna went through the Evolvo-Ray already, but so did Crash. And Ripper Roo. And Koala Kong. And Tiny Tiger. And basically all other mutated animals from the original trilogy (maybe even ones like Chick and Stew from the later games). The Evolvo-Ray doesn't have mind control powers like the Cortex Vortex has, it simply evolves creatures to become humanoid and more intelligent. I'd personally like to think that Cortex and Brio first made all their captured animals evolve with the Evolvo-Ray, THEN succumbed them to the Cortex Vortex.
That Crash bible also stated the order with who went through the Cortex Vortex: first was Ripper Roo, then Koala Kong, the Komodo Bros, Pinstripe, Tiny and then Crash, with Tawna planned to be placed afterwards.
By first I meant she went through the evolvo ray first literally, not as in she went through it before Crash.
Makes no sence on why would Tawna dump Crash for Pinstripe
He did noting for her other then dump a Toxic Waste and try to kill Crash

However one thing worth pointing out is that after the events of crash1 all of cortex's allies left to either join brio or take their own path, so technically Pinstripe would plausibly do his own thing, the ending of crash1 mentioned him going to Chicago I believe to work for the mob, so it's possible that he tried to date Tawna and got rejected hard and yeah...
@BruiseLeeRoy exactly, the canon hasn't changed to much from where we started except for some note worthy changes like Tawna being a Rebel and trying to fight her way out of her imprisonment for example.
I think Beenox really wants to make a Crash Bandicoot animated series. I say let them. With such awesome designs, they have to be seen more often. =D

In my eyes, they should just make another Crash Twinsanity inspired game and give all of the other side characters a little cameo role: Not only Tawna and the Nitro Squad girls. They could give some of the bosses from CNK a role, or Rilla Roo, Yaya Panda, or Chick and Stew.
I wouldn't be against Twinsanity getting a huge remake considering all that cut content!

perhaps, or maybe a spin-off with gameplay similar to something like the yakuza series, i'm just saying there is some potential with the nitro-squad.
The way the girls are portrayed in CTR gets my creative gears working. but for some reason, when it comes to the gameplay of this imaginary game, i keep thinking of a beat 'em up. probably because the girls could use different stats, i mean look at the victory poses with their motorsport outfits. Ami could be the "slow but strong" fighter, Megumi the "combo-master".
the other point has to do with the titans game, let me say up-front, i heavily dislike the 2 titan games, but as many younger fans that grew up with this game say, by itself it was a good game, the new setting and gameplay just wasn't appealing to older fans like myself. but what if could do something that both would like?
what if we take the beat'em up style of titans, and mix it with the Nitro-squad? maybe set in somewhere between Crash 1 and 2. maybe as a way to show how cortex suddenly had no ground forces left, and brio was suddenly after him.
and maybe make the main enemy to fight the lab-assistant, like the basic assistant as the easiest, then come tough cyborgs, etc. with the bosses being folks like pinstripe, koala kong, and such. this would keep the style of the old crash games, but bring a new genre to the table that hopefully won't alienate the fans. and help to flesh-out Tawna and the trophy girls.
Give it up for Tawna and the Nitro Squad.

They really should come back like in a future game or future racing game with story including tawna. they could be parody of the fast and furious crew doing odd jobs with cars. They have their own personalities. You could have coco actually look up to them and you could have crash trying to impress them and they could have girl friendship with coco, and flirtation or find crash cute or adorable with him trying to help him out

Brio against Neo Cortex, in other words she manipulated him, it shows how smart she is so she could have pretended to be a failed experiment, and sabotage the experiment on Crash if you play crash4 then you can see how easy it is to do it. For leaving Crash for Pin Stripe, she is just using him for his connections, and resources, she could be just as smart as Coco and as athletic as Crash, She can handle things herself, like when she knock out a lad assistant and driving a go kart. Like when she drove pass Crash and Pin Stripe , the look on Pin Stripe said it all, he look very upset that means he knows things about Tawna that no one else knows, but won't say anything because he is too prideful and embarrassed to bring it up, and the fact that she still have a thing for Crash.

If crash gets a new console game I can see some numerous possibilities in the future the nitro squad appearing in another game is one of them.
I think they made the nitro squad girls pretty hot. But there’s a lot of people that are super weird about it and it’s not something we should be bragging about and be proud about drooling over these cartoon Furrys lol if you’re being weird about it, you’re gonna get made fun of a little lol
You have perfectly described my behavior after seeing Megumi's new apperance and personality. I still don't know why I was obsessed over her for a couple of months. Thankfully, I am no obsessed with Megumi to a large degree although she is still my favorite Nitro Squad member.🙂

But vivi you know one thing I find really weird in kh3 remind right? The main scenario with sora rescuing kairi? The past in Scala ad cealum where you find the pieces of her heart, and then afterwards you’re playing as normal sora fighting the armored Xehanorts alongside Donald and goofy? Like seriously what was the point of that? It wasn’t necessary at all whatsoever. I basically beat them within 5 seconds anyway because I was already charged up with oathkeeper ready to wipe them out! Crazy right?
You can beat those clones just by activating Ultima shot lock.....Yeah a lot of things felt like unneeded filler.

Well the reason why Crash sleeps a lot is because he is a Bandicoot and Bandicoots are nocturnal animals so of course Crash would be seen sleeping a lot.
Cortex put the animals through the evolve-o ray before putting them into the vortex. The evolve-o ray is what mutates them into human like creature things and the vortex is what gives them some degree of intelligence.
Now we wonder, did all characters in the series go through Cortex's experiments?
VTNVIVI Very likely, as we see contrasts between say crash, coco and tawna in comparison to polar and pura. Cortex likely put everything he captured into both, which is why every one of his henchmen became a bumbling dumbass

I do like these characters, but don't they remind anyone of the Spice Girls? Because Liz reminds me of Posh Spice. Now because of that, I can't help but imagine all of them being like the Spice Girls.

No offense but just because she can punch a guy doesnt mean she went through the E-volve-o ray. I never saw anyone as mutants except for Crash and Cortex's minions. Everyone else could just be seen as just normal anthromorphic animals that exist in a world where non anthros exist. This can be supported by later characters with no affiliation to Cortex like Passadena, Yaya Panda, Chick and Stew, etc. This also can be supported by the fact Crash exists in the same universe as Spyro which is littered with anthromorphic creatures.

Also Vivi there’s just something I have to be really honest with you about too, even though kingdom hearts is my favourite video game series ever, there was a point where I had just completely got over the franchise as a whole and swore off it, cause after 1.5 and 2.5 came out for ps3, it just felt like we were never gonna get kh3 or another collection for that matter. But when 2.8 rolled around I started to gain more interest in it again and especially when 1.5 + 2.5 for ps4 came out too I was over the moon because I had previously gotten rid of them on ps3 awhile back, and the rest as they say is history! You know what I mean? Lol

it's so confusing which ending is actually canon in crash 1! to this day it's just still bedazzles. I wish actisivion, who own the rights to the franchise can eventually clear this up. do you agree too VIVI?

Tawna wasn't put under the vortex, she was only morphed by the evolvo ray. Failed experiment or loyal super soldier? I wonder what the bad end for Tawna would be. Ripper Roo and Crash were total failures. Kong, Pinstripe, Tiny and the Komodo bros. seem obedient enough.
