My dad had an interesting problem back when I was a kid. Our ranch shared a fence with another and our side of the fence was easier to drive. The problem is, we had just planted hay fields and any driving would cause big ruts and damage the field and hay. The fence came down to the county road and on one side was a gate that went in our property and on the other side was a gate that went onto their property. The ranch hands for the neighboring ranch were lazy and decided to drive our field instead of theirs. My dad called up the ranch and asked them to keep out of our property. It is posted. A couple weeks later, they do it again. This time my dad calls them and tells them to make sure it never happens again. He then pulled out an old sickle from a mower and welded a couple steel rods to the underside edge. About 50 feed into our property he dug a small trench and then pounded the sickle down into the trench with a hammer and covered it with debris. A couple weeks later there was a jeep with four flat tires sitting in our hay field. Never had a problem again.
When I was living in suburbia, a flat board with nails sticking up on the inside of the fence worked great, one night someone jumped the fence, I heard the scream and saw the blood. So I believe it did it's job.
@@alfredpaquin3563 Good point, different rules in different countries I guess, no trespassing signs mean nothing in Australia either way. You can still be liable if you set traps, but 99.8% of crims would not report it and 96% of cops would not take the report even if they did. .

Just an idea that I have put in use at my home - I painted the inside of my fence white, then painted every tree, the side facing directly at the house, up to about 6 feet white as well. The wife thought I was losing my mind, but when we actually had someone try to sneak up on our house I made sure she noticed that even though he was hiding behind a tree every time he leaned out his silhouette stood out against the white background. He didn't see the white because from the road the trees weren't painted so he thought he was hidden. Try it, it works like a charm, unless you are in a neighborhood with home owners association rules or care about resale value lol.
Ah dammit I painted my neighbors house white and all of his trees and even his truck. I thought you said anything facing the house. Dammit he parks backed in now so I gotta paint the other side now you forgot to tell me this ....
White Chinese geese work pretty well as early warning systems. They have excellent hearing. (as I've discovered quietly opening my front door, hundreds of feet away from the duck house, and hearing a questioning "honk" from inside by a goose).
These devices and options are used only when the SHTF situation. In normal circumstances, I would not recommended. Lawyers are loved to go after these cases for easy money.
"Area Denial Devices" is one way of doing it. Another would be the opposite: "Area Acceptance Devices". Guide intruders into the exact location YOU want them to be in. Once YOU have them where YOU want, well you can then deal with them as you wish. You need to think about 1 intruder, 2, 10 or a HORDE! And have plans for each. Before SHTF about all that's "legal" is "No Trespassing" Signs. Cameras are ALWAYS a good item. Also loud alarms. I like the sign that says: "IF YOU CAN READS THIS - YOU'RE IN RANGE" After SHTF - whatever you have available.
Cactus plants in your windows. It's cheap. And if someone smashed the window to climb in. Their not gonna have a good day. Also placing cactus around your house is good to. This way you cant get in legal trouble. But mostly. You don't look like your trying to protect yourself. When I see a house with bars on their house. That makes me think they got something worth protecting. And of course. A weapon your effective with. I like hammers.
The garden hose may not arise too much suspicion laying under leaves, however if you have some old scraps of black "Soaker" hose it will blend in FAR more effectively. Broken glass and metal fragments can be set into thin concrete or plaster "pavers" poured in pie tins or foil baking pans so that the shards do not sink into the ground, have more penetritive strength, and can also be moved if necessary.
thats clever dude- DYI your own concrete pavers - set with heavy nail spikes, when not under threat, they can simply be turned over to be used with the smooth side and like you said - movable, thats a great idea man.
For home defense, consider a sheet of particle board with various nails sticking through it. Lay boards in front of windows outside and bury them with loose leaves and debris. Intruders who try to break into a window will step on nails.
Particle board will deteriorate the moment it rains, best to just lay down caltrops made from some nails bent and weldes together. Simple but effective
Use a 2 by 4 with nails for a window guard cover in dirt then when he steps on it and leaves crying go out and put a regular un- nail 2 by 4 in the same spot and take the nailed one inside and hide it if he comes back with the cops it just a board with no nails and he admits to trespassing by the very act of going for the cops.
Not sure I agree with that statement. Something tells me a hardened criminal wouldn't by discouraged by micro machines on the floor, paint cans hanging from the banister or a fan blowing feathers on them. I wouldn't bet my security on it anyways.
Yup booby traps still work today in wars. IED are such devices. Obscured and placed in frequent traveled areas or paths. Same concept as the pit traps in vietnam and korea. They work in apts, homes, ranches etc... Too.
So Tom, does that mean electric door knobs, nails on boards and any other thing that was in the movies besides the two dumb things you mentioned won’t work? Shut up and pound sand
I use a combination of cactus, rose bush, and locust. It gives you options on different elevations of plants. Natural barriers, that you can use to move people/animals where you want them. I use these along with dogs. The dogs will stay out of the cactus, and can get under the roses and locust trees. If the dogs get someone running in the dark on my place it is going to be a bad night for them.
Thorny blackberries work great to. Put them on trellises along the fence or let them grow into a big bush. If someone jumps the fence, they'll land right into them and get all tangled up. In a panic they'll try to get out of the bush fast. when they pull their arms and legs out they'll get shredded.
Mesquite trees with big thorns. When you trim the tree , lay the branches where you expect intruders. Some of those thorns will go thru tenny shoes/basketball shoes
Only if people are scared easily. For example, not everyone screams like a little girl just because someone pulls out a gun. Some, just get quiet. And start flanking.
Grandpa always said "pull and save all the rusty nails". In Mexico, home owners stick bottles into the top of concrete walls, neck down, kind of like we would use barbed wire. The broken edges sticking up. Love the water hose idea. Thanks for sharing. I just planted some bamboo. It has many uses.
Carpet tackstrip worked great for me. The block wall on west side was built up because someone dumped the cement in a pile. That was an easy up for anyone jumping over the wall. On the other side my elevation was low and I couldn't look over the wall. I took carpet tackstrip and construction glue and glued all the way down the wall 30 ' and 4' down the wall, so when they get on the cement pile they grab the tackstrip. Worked like a charm 😄
Thank you , i set up a trap with with crab apple branches . Long natural thorns that could puncture radial tire . layed them out behind my garage , where people sneak into my yard . trust me it worked . no more trouble . found bloody tee shirt on the ground back there weeks later
Fish hooks hanging off tree limbs with some very strong fishing line are pretty good to slow people down and hurts like hell if its stuck in your skin etc gets stuck in clothing gear etc etc. Think it of invisible barbed wire lol
I worked for a utility company for years. On the top inside of a wood fence some of our customers placed carpet tack strips to keep people from pulling up or climbing over the fence. I can tell you if it is placed with the spikes down you will not climb or pull up on the fence.
@@johnsmith-bk4ps same in most asian countrys like in indonesia its done all the time hell they have some plant thats just like a broom handle but the dam thing has one inch long thorns on it
I’m all about home defense and I know this is suppose to be used in SHTF scenarios , but just so ppl are aware most states have laws that say it’s illegal to booby trap your property and you can be sued heavily if someone is injured on your property
First and foremost, know your enemy. Most threats come from within. The garden hose is great but if you have dogs, then they can't be in that area of denial. Lights are great for area defense because nobody can hide in the light, so motion detectors, if even for a bell when someone steps onto the property, would allow one to watch zones according to ringtones. Indiscriminate wounding/ maiming/ killing devices are just that and you could accidentally find yourself with a 3 inch nail through your foot, knee or neck. Keep magazines full and stay aware and alert. A smoke detector only works if you're sober and able to wake up, get up and be aware of the situation quickly. Great vid, love your channel.
t is also a simple idea to place cameras out from the dwelling looking back. This will give you a view of the "blind spots" behind a tree and eliminate those blind spots. They can't hide if you are standing behind them. It will let you watch an intruder as they approach your dwelling.
There are giant nasty thorny Roses, bred for planting in a hedge, under windows, or anywhere else you'd like to make someone bleed. Bouganvillas or cactus are great in warmer climates.
@Karl Schubert not in Hawaii. There are several rock walls with that there. Mostly cemeteries, but you can see it in other places there as well. Then there are the cities and towns that install fixtures designed to make skate boarders wreck, things like an 1/8th" thick bits of metal welded onto railings and painted so you can't see them (not the visible antiskateboard deterrents).
I'm subscribed to so many outdoor, survival, and similar channels that I'm truly shocked you're just now popping up on my radar. Top quality content so far. Can't wait to see what else you've uploaded and future uploads!
A few more honorable mentions keep in mind to me SHTF means no legal ramifications... 1) Vietnamese Ankle Trap: dig a few small holes on aproach behind trees (not illegal by they're own right) extra credit: take 2 small boards drive nails through, attach boards 6-8 inches apart with leather/pelt/hide/rope. Lay across the hole. They step on hidden vertical nails hidden by foliage = ouch or they step in the hole and lacerate the whole ankle. 1 man slowed = all slowed. Extra extra credit rub raw animal blood or feces on the nails to inflict sepsis. 2) Moats and Fire Corridors: Pretty self explanatory dig moats to prevent spread of fire to parts you don't want on fire. Namely anything not part of the trap. No sense defending a pile of ash in an ash forest. Next grow very flammable plants set fire to deny very large areas and seperate and confuse 3) The Mace Tripwire that release heavy spiked weight. Rotting limbs work very well though small heavy rocks with wood spikes tied off are effective as well. 4) World Famous Pungee Sticks The spike pit... need I say more extra credit: rub sticks with blood (to attract predatory animals for food) or feces (inflict sepsis) but never both as you don't want to taint the meat (for the animals NEVER EAT HUMAN FLESH)
These are the real deal. Lol my step dad was a nam vet. He has told me about a few of these. And said they would use the whole for restrooms till they moved out leaving it an infection pit truly awful
In Germany and Austria, we used to plant hawthorn or blackberries as deterrents. Their advantage is that you can eat the fruits and if you plant them all around your property, they keep birds away from pecking your other fruits (easier to go for the bulk at the perimeter than risk going in for less)
Blackberry bushes are great idea in places where cactus does not grow. Common way to prune the bushes minimizes the thick thorny parts to make leafy/flowering part more accessible for the berries, but they can be pruned differently if detterrence is desired.
Cactus is good but "Spanish bayonet" is better. I put it around my daughters bedroom window. It grows fast and you can chop it up and with lots of water for a while it will sprout and grow. It will poke thru anything but tank armor. When you get stuck by it , it will hurt like a nail gun. And for days will hurt very much and be very sore. And you are safe from any law suit because is "Landscaping"!!!
CHARLIE IS PRACTICAL & TACTICAL. Thanks for the great tips. Your videos are very helpful. You bring up topics that sometimes are so obvious they get overlooked. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!
Moto-Medics Judt imagine some inside of your window sill when a burglar tries coming in the window. Sure to leave plenty of DNA behind for cross reference.
I'm very glad I found this because I'm having trouble with my neighbors and others turning in my driveway and leaving mud trails from tires is frustrating that they come onto my property and don't respect so this is my last option and I'm happy to use this. but remember in some states there are different rules and where I'm from you have to put a sign up letting them know warning ⚠️ so hopefully this will work because I'm so tired of people being disrespectful no one cares so I have to give them a surprise!!!!!♡ happy birthday!!!
One that honestly still works great for me: Fishing line and a tin can. One of the simplest to set up, easy to fix, and yet always works because everyone forgets about it
One more thing, use stirring straws cut to 1or2 inches over the nails just like the police spikes have tubes on them to "bypass" tire slime or other flat prevention chemicals.
You just got a big SUB! I originally imagined a perimeter wall made from used shipping containers, stacked 2 high on a thick concrete support footer with numerous rebar spikes penetrating 5 or 6 feet below ground to deter any tunneling. I wanted all of them filled to the brim with dirty fill dirt, and machine compacted ,welded together, and planting huge thorny cactuses, nasty sticker bushes and tons of sandspurs along the very top, and various nasties on my side for anyone who should manage to get over it. I'd achieve total concealment and cover with it easily being bullet/RPG proof. Somebody'd need a Caterpillar D9 to breach it. BUT, when I ran some real quick numbers in my head, I realized I'd need about $1.2B to complete it, LOL! So, I quickly moved onto a plan b,c,d,e,f... so I've been planning/brainstorming at least 2 dozen ideas for months now to quickly erect an inexpensive DIY deterrent perimeter fence. Was brainstorming barbed wire, old rusty sickle cutter bars, etc. But you just gave me TONS of cheaper, quicker and VERY effective ideas that were entirely outside of my narrow box of thinking! THANKS!
Easy to make caltrops from remnants of concrete reinforcement wire. Cut it into X shaped pieces, about 2-1/2 inches long, and bend each side at about 30 degree angle on either side of the weld. Should always have 1 point up when thrown on the ground.
I love these ideas, I have done this to a certain degree in landscaping be projects, using thick privacy hedges and thorny plants to create natural barriers
Tip... use 4 angles of nails bc tires can lay down the nails just like you stated the sticks would. Also... hide the strip in a pjece of pvc pipe. You can have it remote control by using a remote light receptacle from lowes wired to a motor and wire drum like a romex roll.
*The nails are a bit too long which increases the odds tires can simply push them over & temporarily flatten them. Also, most people don't really step that high so shorter nails will ensure shoes don't just push the nails over. Peace.*
@@robertmoore4637 no. That concept won’t work at all. Hose or pipe. The nails on bottom get crushed and the nail on top will not penetrate the tire because it didn’t get the compression it needed and by the time it hit the ground for compression it was folded over.
Big XL treble hooks hung from tree limbs painted to blend in works great too. I hang them in choke spots or blind spots with low hanging limbs. I use 100 or more pound fishing line and hand them in varying heights from 4 to 6 feet. I will hang 10 or so in one spot to get them multiple times and cause them to retreat.
those nails x4, could also be used to create a tetrahedron for caltrops. If you dont weld, then you can always solder. also, planting spiked or thorny rosebushes behind trees is also good too. good video.
@Karl Schubert you miss the point completely. These discussions area about devices intended to be used in situations where there is no question of legal or illegal, as there are no longer people who enforce those concepts
Great Video. A lot of it is not applicable to the United Kingdom where I live, due to our differing laws and legal stances ( sadly ) on weapons and construction of devices and furniture that could cause/intend harm ( No glass cemented onto the top of Brick walls for example ) but other parts are good advice that can be applied to deter criminals as well ( main threat at this time in the UK ) Deter Criminals Have Curtains, Drapes/nets or shutters fitted to your windows and use them.....so easy to scout out a houses contents through a clear window especially if house lights are on at night. Tall hedges, plants and fences between your house and public roads/pavements ( sidewalks ) that block line of sight to your house and the public are a godsend to criminals who can use them as cover to attempt entry without fear of a passer-by seeing them. Strong and sturdy fences are actually preferred by burglars as they are easier to climb, a weaker fence with a " trellis " on top with spiky plants such as roses is harder to climb and will often collapse under a persons weight...burglars detest these because of the thorns and the noise. CCTV is essentially useless if its not a live feed and alert system. Most criminals are not deterred by it and you will simply have a recording of someone breaking into your house with faces covered as a sad memento that the police cannot use due to difficulty of identification. The CCTV that rings you up and says you have visitors is very effective. Light and Noise are not a burglars friend. Security lights fitted high up ( out of tamper reach, out of bin liner thrown over light reach ) covering the back of the house or blind spots. Gravel/shingle pathways and drive ways and rusty/squeaky gates are effective. Burglars hate dogs. All Dogs. Of any size and type.......Even a sign up " Beware of Dog " a few dog toys strewn about can be a deterrent. Good quality Burglar alarm. Not all the bad guys are stupid and they do know what dummy alarms look like. Just a few tips.
Put that hose with nails on the end of a high pressure/flow hose full rip to the effect of whipping around wildly and you've got your self bout 30+ foot of area denial.
Funny how I learned this from a game called Block'n load. When our enemies ninja us they use our pillbox and barricades for their cover to sneak in and flank us, so we started putting caltrops on the other side of the barricade if we cant afford to use radars. This, however, translated to real life by different means.... I mean, we didn't plant them there, but we have a minefield of fire ant nests around on our provincial house. Invisible, volatile, no upkeep, effective. They even change locations every year.
There's probably 2-3 in almost every garage. I'll admit to using a number of those new collapsible hoses but still kept some old plastic hose for things like this.
I use bush and climbing tea rose plants they are very thorny and do not let louse very easy plus have beautiful flowers. Love your channel , Keep up the great videos.
@Karl Schubert I'd imagine most people would also be doing the same thing in such a situation, likely plenty of unruly types about. The only people who would be hurt by such implements at such a time are the ones who should be. But, if people are upset about defending yourself in an apocalyptic scenario, they have self selected for purging from the gene pool as well. Humanity doesn't need such failures and, eventually, their numbers will be thinned.
@@josh48315 Shorter nails with a thicker medium like wood. Hell, a plank with nails through it would be far more effective, if the nails dont puncture the tires it will at least jam up the springs and suspension. The viet cong got it right, just copy the viet cong.
Holy Ravioli yeah that would certainly work. The nice thing about the hose is you can bend and change its shape to fit the area. Also I wonder if the hose would work better if you filled it with sand, or sand with a binding agent, so the sand doesn’t fall through the holes over time, although I don’t think much would escape. Or simply concrete mixture. Concrete you could still bend and flex the hose and concrete would break where it needs to into rocks, and reinforce the hose a stable platform. I have no idea if any of this would actually work but just thinking out loud.
@@josh48315 Concrete would be perfect actually, or better yet use expanding foam because its faster and would fulfill the same function while allowing flexibility.
1/2" plywood cut to needed shape with 3" wood screws put thru it pointed up. As well as some going thru it and into the ground to keep it in place. Paint the screw points as close to ground color as possible and cover plywood with dirt , leaves , pine needles or whatever the natural ground cover was for that area. Devices can be stored in garage rafters until deployment is needed. They also are incredibly effective against vehicle tires when placed and disquised where vehicles are likely to come over during approach .
I use iron poles in the ground and steel cable as trip wire and dig ditches before and after each set with fishing bells on them. It makes it a gigantic pain in the ass to walk through. They also sell inexpensive perimeter alarms on EBay. Should also use trail cameras with the camo that matches your terrain. Battery or solar powered flood lights around your entire perimeter along with cameras as long as power is on.
I didn't watch the whole video. But, my neighbor did the hose trap on his property when I was a kid, another neighbor found it, called the cops and he went to jail for having a booby trap on his property.
It is completely unacceptable that protecting your own property is illegal. The US has some pretty principles, but they are only theoretical. We don't own our "property" and that is criminal. If we ever get our country back, we MUST secure TRUE property rights.
@@jonm8513 you are correct. we need to get the land back from the governments. i say we start by giving back all the Native Americans back the land that was stolen from them.
@@MRFLAPPYTREE "...the land that was stolen from them" - That would include all land from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean, from Canada to Mexico, Alaska and Hawaii. So now that we have defined the land previously 'owned' by the Native Americans... Where are you moving to?
@@MRFLAPPYTREE Your definition of "Stolen Lannd" is just a leftist metaphor for Conquered.. All land throughout history has had different people's inhabit it.. Usually through conquering or outbreeding the previous inhabitants.. You seem to be conflicted with human nature and nature in general..
Simple barb wire can make a makeshift concertina wire. Holes dug in the ground, branches set to clothesline people, you name it. In times of peril you must get creative if you are going to survive.
What do you think about having some old fence boards, so they are weathered and blend in, with nails poking through...you put them out nail side down, then later when you deploy them, simply turn over, now with rusty nails side up. Not a hazard until you deploy. To me quicker and less obtrusive than your garden hose idea, though I like it too!
Regarding the nail-hose: perhaps the nail length you used was simply for illustrative purposes but, I'd prefer somewhat shorter nails, only because the incline of an approaching object will generally make contact at an angle and likely just push the nail over if it's too long, defeating the purpose of the nail-strip.
Add the wire in spots that force them to come through brush or bushes. Paint it an OD green or to match what’s behind it. Make sure it has some slack so that it sets the first time they meet resistance. You want it to coil on them. Set it with a spring pole to get immediate set on target. One person screaming is enough to warn a neighborhood. I will also say this to agree with those that said it before and after...... this is only in WORL and SHTF scenarios. Please use your head when thinking of using these or any type devices like these.
Just a thought on the stakes, possible substituting jagged edged flat rocks might be an interesting idea. That way you could just arrange them to look like a planter around the base of the tree.
Cool idea with the spike strip. The wooden stakes can be easily bypassed by someone with a deft step though. What I'd really like to see are things like this that are passive and can be automatically deployed when you need them (i.e., push a button and a spike strip shoots across your drive). Also I have 5 acres of property but there's no way I would ever put these spike strips up around trees and whatnot for my curious children to go walking into. So the takeaway I get from this is that if you're going to use this kind of very basic DIY "tech", you need to have a plan of action for when to actually deploy it. Otherwise the next time the UPS guy comes up your driveway to make an ammo delivery he's gonna be pissed that you popped all of his tires.
yeah, 5 acres is great- but your right its a lot of territory to defend for a single household. I'm willing to bet you have a plan and what areas you are willing to temporarily concede in a fight.
If you're worried about legal issues, can instead fill areas someone might want to hide in or sneak through with innocuous lawn ornaments, like gaudy plastic flamingos or ceramic garden gnomes. If there's an area you want to unobtrusively fence off, transplant bramble there. It's difficult and often painful to try traversing a row of rose bushes or blackberry stalks, even if those plants are dead. The other area denial devices I can think of that wouldn't merit comment from the neighbors are motion-activated lights, solar garden lights (power up during day, glow at night, enough to see silhouettes of strangers sneaking around), and sprinklers.
I found that the best way to deflate my tires is to use nails with a hollow core, it takes too long when I use regular nails. But that's just my experience... results may very.
Where I live in Victoria B.C. there is a very affluent neighbourhood that has a lot of historically interesting homes that have glass, and spike gurded walls around properties. I was told it goes back to the depression era when poor transients trespassed looking for handouts, or to burglarize house holds. It's one of the spectacles that some tour bus companies show to visitors.
When it comes to things like spike strips, be careful where you deploy them. If you put them inside, under a window that's considered a "man trap" and that's a felony. The laws are unfairly primed against the home owner anytime the device is unseen or delivers "undue damage, injury or death" for the crimes it's trying to prevent. Look up the laws for yourself, just know they exist.
@@donquihote6023 I'm not sure about that, I just know residential "man traps" can buy you trouble. I don't agree with it but, they have to protect the criminal, too. ;[ 😆

@Mike Remington Thank you. Gotta do what ya gotta do. Stay Safe.

For home defense, consider a sheet of particle board with various nails sticking through it. Lay boards in front of windows outside and bury them with loose leaves and debris. Intruders who try to break into a window will step on nails.
Unfortunately in America that's a litigation nightmare waiting to happen. If courts are still a thing at the time anyways lol

Particle board will deteriorate the moment it rains, best to just lay down caltrops made from some nails bent and weldes together.

1) Vietnamese Ankle Trap:
dig a few small holes on aproach behind trees (not illegal by they're own right) extra credit: take 2 small boards drive nails through, attach boards 6-8 inches apart with leather/pelt/hide/rope. Lay across the hole. They step on hidden vertical nails hidden by foliage = ouch or they step in the hole and lacerate the whole ankle. 1 man slowed = all slowed. Extra extra credit rub raw animal blood or feces on the nails to inflict sepsis.
2) Moats and Fire Corridors:
Pretty self explanatory dig moats to prevent spread of fire to parts you don't want on fire. Namely anything not part of the trap. No sense defending a pile of ash in an ash forest. Next grow very flammable plants set fire to deny very large areas and seperate and confuse
3) The Mace
Tripwire that release heavy spiked weight. Rotting limbs work very well though small heavy rocks with wood spikes tied off are effective as well.
4) World Famous Pungee Sticks
The spike pit... need I say more extra credit: rub sticks with blood (to attract predatory animals for food) or feces (inflict sepsis) but never both as you don't want to taint the meat (for the animals NEVER EAT HUMAN FLESH)

Cactus should be put in blind spots

If it will grow in your area check out Staghorn Cholla cactus.

Blackberry bushes are part of my home defense
I also think the hose with spikes has a secondary use. it could be used as a whip for self defense.
*The nails are a bit too long which increases the odds tires can simply push them over & temporarily flatten them. Also, most people don't really step that high so shorter nails will ensure shoes don't just push the nails over. Peace.*
They will fold over and the bottom spikes will crush the garden hose ripping it apart. The nail needs compression between the tire and ground to work.
Great catch, yall. I'd think stouter tapered ones maybe 1" shorter?
Maybe weld them to a pipe.
@@robertmoore4637 no. That concept won’t work at all. Hose or pipe. The nails on bottom get crushed and the nail on top will not penetrate the tire because it didn’t get the compression it needed and by the time it hit the ground for compression it was folded over.

@Karl Schubert what's your point.
Thicker nails can be used. Drill them after welding for more reliable deflation of tires.
@Karl Schubert you miss the point completely. These discussions area about devices intended to be used in situations where there is no question of legal or illegal, as there are no longer people who enforce those concepts
Great Video. A lot of it is not applicable to the United Kingdom where I live, due to our differing laws and legal stances ( sadly ) on weapons and construction of devices and furniture that could cause/intend harm ( No glass cemented onto the top of Brick walls for example ) but other parts are good advice that can be applied to deter criminals as well ( main threat at this time in the UK )
Deter Criminals
Have Curtains, Drapes/nets or shutters fitted to your windows and use them.....so easy to scout out a houses contents through a clear window especially if house lights are on at night.

@Karl Schubert Only until the police are defunded and the society breaks down. Then, everything is legal by default.
Nails in a water hose covered in leaves as a boobie trap in a front yard. Hey, totally legal.
Karl Schubert Exactly.
The problem with rubber hose spike strips is its too flexible, the nails are too long and they get pushed forward and flattened.
What is the resolution then? Different material than hose? Shorter nails? What do you suggest ?

You can pick up Concertina wire pretty cheap. When crap hits the fan you can set it up without legal worries. But it will draw attention!
Did you mean Concertina wire? (I tried googling constantine wire and that’s what came up.)
TONY WICK yes. Autocorrect got me and I didn’t catch it. Thanks.
Just a thought on the stakes, possible substituting jagged edged flat rocks might be an interesting idea. That way you could just arrange them to look like a planter around the base of the tree.
A lot of people are talking about being sued…
You can only be sued if the person who’s attempted
attack is left able to….
Or….
If a body can be found…
Cool idea with the spike strip.
Uh… of course?
It's one of the spectacles that some tour bus companies show to visitors.
add in the fact that you wont be mowing your lawn in hard times unless its for a purpose.
6-pound test clear fishing line with 6 gauge, extra wide opening hooks is a great improvised area denial device, especially if you already fish.
Instead of using the wood stakes, I would recommend using pieces of rebar. It is far less visible.
Yeah I’ve stepped on rebar before 😬it was so invisible… especially when it gets rusty…

They don't want you killing their business.

I'm not sure about that, I just know residential "man traps" can buy you trouble. I don't agree with it but, they have to protect the criminal, too. ;[ 😆
are you talking about placing "traps" in public spaces? because you can put whatever you want in your private property lol. i got a "hot rod" ignitor going into a tub of thermite hidden in the awning right above my front door. anyone shady comes to the door it's as simple as flipping a totally normal looking light switch and they're in for a hot surprise ... shall not be infringed
@@jhanks2012 no u can't. I wanted to block people from crossing my yard from between my fence, and was told I could not use barbed or razor wire. Sry u r mistaken.
@@trishkcmo3683 "you were told" does not mean that is what the LAW says lmao ... but okay if you do whatever your told that's the way you live your life
Bravo.......make things that make noise.......dead fall.....set things to see if any one has been there......high voltage......water sprinklers.....cheers
This dude made this during civil riots and pandemic, I mean dude capitalized on this moment to tell you a zombie apocalypse scenario, but in practical manner of what was going on around that time in real world :D
That’s some sh*tty English right there buddy.
