Been watching Trek since 1968. Yeah, old guy here. I Love Star Trek and I think Star Trek can be different things to different people. Star Trek has always been woke and about being inclusive. Discovery is no different. Yes they took a different storytelling approach, and some seasons were better than others, but I love the characters and thought it was a fun ride. I'll miss it. Some people just want the same thing over and over and that's fine to. At least Star Trek Discovery dared to be different.
Agree to disagree. Old Trek would present a modern question in a sci-fi scenario, weigh the pros and cons of both sides, and move forward. NuTrek preaches its virtue. It presents an obvious "right side/wrong side" and questions why people believe the "wrong" side of the debate. We know no longer get thoughtful debates of EG: abortion through the lens of ending "Tuvixs" life for restoring Tuvok and Nelixs lives. Or Picard wrestling with the question of fixing a race of drug dealers ship, or subject the neighboring plant to deadly withdrawals from said drug(TNG: Symbiosis) Instead we get, "How can anyone be opposed to not saving the Romulans?" Hell, the first episode of Picard featured a near 1-to-1 comparison of FOX News. The sheer fucking hubris. Not every Trek fan is American. . Old Trek understood that.
HUH!? StarTrek lives forever!! What are you talking about? Dw, I thought that after ST: Enterprise was cut because of P2P downloads!!! lol ;) (since then there's been 3 new series and movies!!)
I grew to dislike this show - but I LOVE me some S Martin Green. I'd love to see her in a much better-written Trek franchise, sometime soon. Glad she had a good ending with Book. he's a good character...
Am I the only one who has zero use for all the crying, wide grins and hugs? Most especially I had zero interest in flashing forward 30 years and seeing the characters as old farts. I knew the whole progenitors thing was a waste of time, a bald attempt to get viewers invested in oh boy now everything will be explained. In the end basically nothing happened. Michael was like no thanks and the progenitor was like okay doke, we'll be here if you change your mind. Moll wakes up, asks can they bring my boyfriend back to life? No oh well never mind. Then there is that last bit where Michael and Zora fly off to do no one can say what. What a massive space fart the whole thing was.
This series stunk. The only thing it had going for it was a huge special effects budget. Terrible acting. Terrible story telling. None of the characters are memorable outside of being laughably bad.

Why does any series need to have a series finale were they try to tie up all lose ends for a sweat sit down laugh, instead leaving it a suspense that years later can be used to restart a new series with the unknown…
Star Treks Discovery Final Season 5 ending very reminiscent of Babylon 5s final ending where Sheridan goes boldly into the abyss and vanishes with out a trace.
I’ve been watching Trek since the 70s as a teenager. I love all versions. I felt Discovery was fantastic with the advanced special effects and story telling. The only thing I hated was the final episode. Why the hell did they strand the discovery in the nebula. There was no reason. It should have been kept in a star fleet museum. Well, at least we still have the shining light of SNW. Looking forward to Academy and Section 31.
@@evelynstubing1211 Kinda like you feel when you see your friends again at high-school reunions ... tho they're all "grown-ups" now, you spend the afternoon/evening with them like you were when it was 'back in the days'
Prediction: Daniels predicted the collapse of the Federation once again by the 42nd Century and tasks the Discovery to restore it. The ship will likely be in the historical record as a largely symbolic vessel which was instrumental in bringing Earth and the rest of the galaxy back together and solving the dilithium crisis.
A mi también me dio esa impresión. Después de lo que pasó con La Quema tiene sentido dejar un seguro para no iniciar todo de cero. Con un toque de Asimov con Fundación.
craft must be someone of significance in the future and that’s why Zora is there to ensure he survives, but would be curious as to who gets discovery and Zara back to Federation space
there were some great things in star trek discovery but it just had too many lame parts ... way too much hugging, crying, and getting in touch with your inner feelings .... blurrrggghhhh. I never ever liket the series. I was raised with Star Trek, Star Trek Enterprise, DS9 and Voyager. But in this series they tryed so much to show us... almost allmighty races and they failed.
That was the worst series finale of Star Trek ever these were the worst characters in the franchises history I'm glad Star Trek Discovery is over they ripped off the Star Trek The Next Generation episode The Chase the best episode of season 6
I miss Michelle Yeoh she was the best.

I enjoyed it. I let every Star Trek be its own thing. I never tried to compare one series to another.
I couldn’t have said it better. I too enjoyed the series.
I wish the creative team behind Discovery good luck in their future endeavors.
STD is apt nickname it was trash.

I am sooooo glad Micheal Burnham and Book got together finally. Great ending!!!
What drug were these writers on? Literally what is this shit?
I still have no idea what happened at the end after watching this.
Zola is on a mission. She was downgraded as part of the mission
This must have been the first time anotger Star Trek did a respective nod to USS Enterprise... i didn't hate it

Agreed. Sad.
Glad this nightmare show is done.
it sucked. What disappointment
This episode was amazing 😍 Finally, after such a long showrun, it's finally bloody over 😂

Don’t watch shows you don’t enjoy. Everyone likes different Star Treks. To each his own.
Not as horrible as the AI voice in this video
Worst Star Trek show ever!

Why are you glad
@JohnDezern-de7iw because one shows end just brings us one step closer to Star Trek Legacy. The Trek everyone wants and asked for.

Good Reviewing ❤
This series was a complete train wreck…smh
I was so invested in this show, then it suddenly end.
My issue was the narration in the action sequence. It would have worked fantastic had it not have any narration drowning the action.

Did you explain what the deal was with her "reunion" with her crew (and the apparent lack of aging among them)?
I thought captain Burnham was just thinking back to the days of her younger self and reminiscing about her times aboard Discovery with her crew.

It was a memory only which was a confusing and sad send off for the characters.
@@christovog thanks for clearing it up for us.
I'm glad they referenced Star Trek : Odd New Worlds in this video. That show never gets the acknowledgement it deserves.
It's STRANGE New Worlds, not Odd New Worlds.
@cherylbarth6286 I am aware of that. It's my second favourite Trek show (after DS9, of course).
He said Odd New Worlds at one point in the video.
The only decent character was Grudge

I agree. I think the spore drive is instrumental in whatever mission Daniel’s has planned and Zora being fully sentient too.
Good riddance to this atrocity of a show may every episode be lost and never seen again.
