What we need to do is have a legal definition of what a season of television is and that would be 38 episodes minimum that should be the law not this 10 episode bullshit

Of course Ortega's Warp command would be 'Rock 'n Roll' !!! If you asked me before I watched this, I would have guessed 'Rock 'n Roll' or '¡Vamos!' (Love Chapel's 'Giddy-Up' too )
Kinda strange hearing Kirk give his take on the subject since he never had a 'thing' during or after his five year mission. I can only remember him saying 'Mr Sulu, Warp Factor ____'. Come to think of it, was "Warp Factor____" his 'thing' ??'

@@jamiemeza6148 What do you mean "maybe"? Have you ever watched "The Cage"? Don't you know *_WHEN_* in the timeline it happened? SNW takes place about 5 to 10 years before TOS. In the first season of TOS, it was explained in the Episode "The Menagerie" that the events of Talos IV ("The Cage") took place 13 years earlier. *_THEREFORE_* "The Cage" took place *_BEFORE_* SNW.

*_I am probably going to get a lot of HATE_* for this comment and you may even delete it, but it needs to be said anyway. There are *_VERY FEW_* hard core Star Trek fans over the *_age of 60_* who think that Strange New Worlds is "great" Star Trek. *_MOST_* of these are people like myself who think that, while SNW is better than the other "Kurtzman NuTrek" productions (with maybe the exception of Picard Season 3... Because that Showrunner, Terry Matalas, actually worked on some of the better Star Trek series of the past), it is still lacking in several areas to be considered "great" Star Trek. It isn't even close. "Good", maybe... but definitely *_NOT_* "great". There's just way too much wrong with it to go into detail here. But, here's a little something...
For example, the SNW Season 3 clip that shows members of the Enterprise crew transform into Vulcans defies... and forgive the pun... all *_LOGIC._* This *_"miracle injection"_* not only transforms them physically into Vulcans (including hairstyles, btw), it also provides them with *_DECADES_* of Vulcan training to subdue their emotions. This is only *_ONE_* example. There are many, many others. Stuff that has been canon for over half a century has been tossed out an airlock. That maybe okay for you newbies, but for old people like me who have been avid fans of Star Trek since September 8, 1966 (and possibly September 6, 1966 if you're Canadian and were lucky enough to get to see Star Trek two days before everyone here in the USA), it is a complete affront to what Star Trek is supposed to stand for.
Star Trek has been in our blood for almost 60 years. Some of us were young and grew up on TOS. And for some of us, that was our formative years. It's ingrained in us. It's my belief that SNW takes place in an alternate timeline or alternate universe where the Gorn have been known about for years before James T. Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise encountered them on Cestus III. In fact, the TOS episode "Arena" cannot exist in this alternate Universe that SNW exists in. It just wouldn't make any sense. When you have that many years of history, you can't just retcon it out of existence and/or throw it away with ease. And that's something the younger folks who haven't been around as long will *_NEVER_* understand until they reach our age and have followed something as closely that has also been handled the same as what they've done to Star Trek (maybe Star Wars fans might understand a little of that based on the sequel trilogy... Episodes VII through IX... and shows like "The Acolyte". Except for Andor, everything else Star Wars related has sucked since Disney took over). What happened to Star Wars has happened to Star Trek and a lot of that can be contributed to JJ Abrams and Alex Kurtzman (who tried to make Star Trek more "pew pew"-like). Neither of them truly understand Star Trek.
We *_ACHE_* for Star Trek to go back to the episodic morality plays that were grounded in *_SCIENCE_* fiction. Because, yes, the science was *_FICTIONAL_* but it was also based on the theoretical and factual science of the day. Now, the writers just make up complete technobabble that sounds good to the non-discerning ear. The morality plays delved into cultural and political taboos, but since it was under the umbrella of science fiction, they could get away with it. They're more free to do that today, but they avoid doing that now because they care about pleasing executives who want to expand the fan base and not telling stories. That's what's missing. They're just too afraid to do it. They don't like taking risks like they used to. In trying to appeal to a larger fan base, they have lost the fan base that kept Star Trek alive for over 50 years.
I know a lot of you look back and watch Star Trek through the eyes of someone who *_KNOWS_* that a lot of what they supposed didn't come to pass and seemed outrageous (like having common space travel and Eugenics Wars in the 1990s). But back in the 1960s, we were in the middle of the Space Race and Moon Shot. The future possibilities were tremendous during that time.
Star Trek could have continued to be good, but now it's just commercial.
And btw, you're entitled to your opinion, but then again, *_SO AM I._*

Well said, I'm also an an original trekkie. Once you ignore the established lore, you lose credibility. This is the way of every franchise. Overrun with media executives who's main goal is to increase revenue by appealing to a wider audience. Let's see Spock be ridiculed by his peers in funny scenario, the fans will love it !

Another throw away would be the aliens on Talos who were supposed to be previously undiscovered in the original pilot but were ready to help Spock get his head together when he first appeared in this series. So . . . I hope that they don't mess with too much more. It takes real creativity to put together the weekly morality plays but that is a lot of what is missing from the new versions - - real creativity.

Pls don’t bring Paul Wesley as Kirk in a reboot after SNW ends. TOS has been done before, the only reason to re-do TOS is ego. To think u can out TOS is ridiculous, shame on u. Kurtzman. Pls come up with ur own Trek!!!!!

    Nope. Fake Trek.
They had a chance to correct the errors being made by Duhscovery and Pretendcard & start fresh with a reset to the Star Trek Canon Timeline.
Instead they chose to remain with the "contract requires at least 25% different" Timeline. 😡.
