Cool thanks. I’m probably going to just order a E series Ford grill in Black. I though about a Raptor liner in black as I did my Camper mirrors in raptor liner in black. I see you painted yours, how did you prep it so it won’t flake off over the “chrome” they use? My camper is up on my page if anyone is interested ✌🏼
I cleaned it very well. Very well. Then sprayed it with black Plastidip. It's held up well. Plastidip doesn't adhere the same way as paint and it doesn't flake like paint either. That said, the chrome grill is plastic and isn't chrome like a metal bumper. If you wanted to use paint, then lightly sand the plastic chrome and spray paint it. I did that with another vehicle and had great results and durability.
Thanks! I cleaned it thoroughly with soap and water, scrubbing to get any dried bug bits off. Once it was completely dry I wiped with acetone, then sprayed it with plastidip.
Nice job - very helpful. I see on the lower clip views (about 1:53) you seem to have a couple empty clip holders - besides the ones you show. Are those unused or are you missing some?
I pulled my grill this morning. The top was exactly as you described but the bottom clips were not at all visible from the top. I ended up just pulling hard to release them. No damage luckily. 2011 E350 super duty XLS
Thank you!
Good video!
Finally someone who shows the details. Nice job.
Thanks for the. Tips on getting the grill off

What was your prep process for this plasidip of the grill and bumper? I was looking to do that on my van, looks so nice!!

Mine is black I want the plastic chrome one
Maybe post on Facebook marketplace for a trade. Never know if someone local wants to do the opposite!

It looked to me like they are not used. I didn't notice any scratches on them indicating there used to be a metal clip.
