This is a re-upload of yesterday's video because I made some mistakes in one of the graphics. I honestly don't know how I didn't notice this yesterday but I guess I was very tired. Thank you Thirty-Three for pointing out the mistake 👍
Stopped playing over a year ago and never got Into the weird combos aka old school repetitive button inputs. Now I’m giving it another go and Out of everyone I’ve watch, you’re the only person to explain it so well
You know, I saw a lot of videos on Lance. This video was the only time I ever saw someone show and tell a new lancer, old now, that the two shield moves can trigger offensive guard and the player doesn't need to do a perfect parry of dangerous attacks to trigger it. Thank you for the precious info. Other videos say you can do it but don't specify the conditions of doing it. From what I saw, as long as the shield move blocks any attack, the Offensive Guard activates.
@@J9_MH I'm really enjoying it. I main charge blade and some of the mechanics transition quite well into lance for me so far. now I'm getting why people like the big poke stick
@@J9_MH it's not good :( ? I used it a lot to change direction if i expect a dive from a monster that goes "through" me. Or is there other method to quickly change direction when you are on guard that i;'m not aware of >_< ?
Thanks so much for this! I read your guide on the monster hunter meta subreddit. I've played many hours with lance just basically poke poke, so I'm trying to learn the better combos to up my damage and block moves better. Is there a method you would recommend for practicing getting used to this way? Like a particular monster or quest? And which skills would you prioritize for a low MR build where not all of the good armor pieces are unlocked yet? Thank you :)
maybe try practicing on something with a big head, I usually like to practice IB timings on rathian and nargacuga but I guess they also work for combo practice. around what MR are you currently?
@@J9_MH yea that what i mean, guard bash. I see it on fb but my phone just auto refresh the thing. What I remember is that the guy do 3 normal high poke and then immedietly hit the monster with his shield, like guard bash from guard tackle?
Instructions unclear, still poking. Maybe I just need more practice but I'm really awful at getting leaping thrust out, so I'm just more comfortable with poking into shield tackle.

When things are clicking with the Lance in a good fight, there’s no better feeling in gaming.
I'm a returning Rise player. No idea what's new for lance and how to play the new lance. This video's a god send. Thanks, you've got a new subscriber!
I wanted to finally give lance a try and this made it really easy to digest what to do with the weapon. great video.
good luck 🤞

6:20 Great transition.
Thanks for the video i was scathing my head trying to figure out how to do the leaping thrust combo
Thanks for the vid, one critique: use a more readable font. The combo of all caps and script makes it hard to parse out what is on screen effectively.
Great video! I am new to MHR and love lance! this has really helped me get started.
I literally came here to figure out the leaping thrust combo. 😂 i for some reason was confusing the guard tackle with my backhop due to muscle memory.
My man coming with the persona 5 ost ❤ Great tips!
You can also access leaping trust after power guard
yeah I'm aware. but no one really uses power guard and it's also not very good so might as well pretend it doesn't exist 🤭

bro what are your settings? initially i though the game was world and then i saw the wirebug @_@
Can u do gunlance?
uh I don't think I have enough experience and knowledge on gunlance :|
@@J9_MH then believe in yourself and go out there and get some hunter
My onl6 problem right now is insta block, I'm always way to early or 2 late 😒😒
just needs practice 😌
You need to have confidence. You must know that if you parry too early, you will still be fine because of the guard you do right after.
is evade extender necessary?
no evade extender is not needed for any of the combos. some people just like it to reposition better, I personally never use it.
I seen a guy combo with shield bash, how the hell he do it? Cos i need combo where i do not move that much
do you mean guard bash? do you have an example video somewhere?

@@rizamboi2776 I think that's just shield tackle. to activate guard bash the monster has to attack you
My uo is completely different when it comes to skills
