He's like a helpless merchant lol. It's funny because during the whole piracy era, the pirates rarely killed anyone or fired on ships, because the merchants would just surrender their cargo, just like that guy, because they were usually insured against piracy.

They actually did! To be clear, the majority of pirates rarely had to fire upon other ships. Merchant ships, as well as pirate crews being paid by merchants, were at least partially insured against most losses. It was better for all parties to just hand over the goods and sail away.

Lol this was one of my very first experiences in SoT. I did open crew Sloop and joined a guy who was amassing a shitload of gold hoarders loot. I was able to find the Chest of Sorrow, didn’t know what it did but I just set it on the boat before walking back to the island to continue looting. A while later I came back to the ship with some more loot and found the whole thing filled with water, promptly sinking just a few seconds later.
The text chat from the other guy was just “**** ****** *****” lol

I can't do the hiding strategy bc my character is literally the biggest mf I've seen in the months I've been playing. I call him the absolute unit

Otherwise you can still board through sword lunging from the sail .
Or you can change your character.But i think you want to stick with it.
