6:27 you still get 100% of the money and rep if you’re in an alliance as long as you are the ones to sell. Everyone else just gets 50% without affecting your reward
He didn't want them to get any of the money so he kept leaving the alliance

Dude whooaaaa I had already scrolled down the comments and was reading here and there but didn’t read yours yet but was at it watching the video I had no clue so I saw him kinda just board the ship cuz the wave just went perfectly high enough for him and I was like Holy cow awesome and I looked down and you marked the spot and made the comment haha how funny I was always wondering if that could happen with the waves and boat haha

there was this time, I was playing in a brig with two of my friends, we had a ritual skull in our ship, and we're going to Reaper's Hideout to sell it, when, out of nowhere, the "Battle For The Sea Of Thieves" event triggered and two skeleton Galleons jumped from out of the water (one of my friends was AFK) and together with them, a pink meg, we were screwed, our ship was sinking, my friend told me to get the ritual skull and jump to some rocks nearby that they were going to find me, and while I was waiting for them, a player Galleon spotted me on the rock and was coming my way to stole whatever I had in me, and suddenly the water around them turns black, and the kraken sunk their ship, saving me and the sacrificial skull.

I like being a pirate, dont get me wrong, but when its a grind server i usually just join them as i am not pirate legend yet :/

The fun part about getting pirate legend is the journey. If your journey is filled with repetitive grindy bs or is devoid of danger or thrill then pirate legend won't mean anything
vicic You can have fun and grind at the same time. That’s what a skeleton fort is pretty much. I don’t have good enough friends to do a FoTD or skeleton ships though. Also, skull missions are fun and so are chest missions. I think with the emissary system you can make simple missions have higher rewards and have them still be fun.
@@willp4623 Oh yeah definitely!! A lot of the game is essentially grinding. What I mean is if you strip down any danger or thrill from the game it will become very bland and boring.
When you do a skull fort, even if nobody came, it was still fun because someone COULD have come and there was geunine risk while doing it. Other players and this risk and reward system is what makes the game fun, dynamic and rewarding to play.
When you kill someone after chasing them down or finally get the upper hand in a situation where you almost sunk or run away and manage to sell your stuff just in the nick of time.
When you fuck up and get killed and lose your loot, it will suck. But that's exactly what makes those victories that much more important and fun.
vicic I actually think that the danger of other players is actually the most exciting thing about the game. Everything that’s hard is fun, or at least not boring. It’s exciting. The only aspect of the game I don’t really like is the Kraken, because it just annoying. Especially when you steal everything from a thieves haven run, and then the full galleon you sank that had all that loot starts chasing you, and just as we get away, a kraken spawns and you sink, thus wasting 45 minutes of tense battles (based on a true story). To be fair though, the battles were pretty fun.

Haha, these videos are great! Short story: duo sloop with my friend, started fighting an emissary 4 duo sloop. We fought and fought. At the end we were out of resources. So we helped em get us, and our reapers emissary 2 flag 😂 It was great!
this is how sea of theives is supposed to be played
mostly trash the point is that it’s a shared sandbox world and it can be played many different ways. So ‘supposed to’, no, but fun sure.
It's a fun way to play. I love fucking up kracken bots. Me and my buddy hackettaus took down a server alliance awhile back and I miss doing that. It's way more fun if you are good

Before you jump out on an island to start digging chests or hunting skeletons. Take a good look around you and see if there are any other ships on the horizon.
If you spot any, keep them in mind as you venture on an island.
That way you won't have a surprise attack while you're minding your own business.

I don't know what it says about the game that I spend far more time watching it than playing it. /it's so entertaining to see what people get up to
the devs originally came up with the concept of the game based on the idea of making something that is fun to watch, from what i heard, when it first released they just forgot to add in the fun to play aspect, but gladly fixed it

But why not let everyone play as they want, without disturbing them? Not hard to find servers with people, who want to fight.
Some people just want to pick a fight. I mostly play solo sloop, and I dont fight anyone unless they give me a reason too. But when they do, I try to not pull any punches, alliance or not. I board their ship, or shoot at them with cannonballs. Just because you want to mind your own business and grind, doesn’t mean everyone else will respect that. Be ready for anything

But if you land on a server, where clearly the mentality is to play peacefully and everyone is enjoying themselves, why not just switch to a server, where people share your mentality and let the others play as they want. That way the game isn't ruined for anyone and everyone is happy.
The problem is, that the people, who want to fight can force their prefered gamestyle onto the otheres, and there is nothing they can do about it, if they are not as good as the ones attacking, which is frustrating and makes them not enjoying the game.

If someone who is in pvp action more than they are in grinding, an entire server of peaceful people doing their own thing will *NOT* stop them. And even then, if they didnt know any better about pvp, then they should learn what to do if they get attacked. Its like I said, I may grind more than pvp, but im not gonna shy away from a ship more often than not. If they attack me, they should be expected to be attacked. When im at a fort or an island doing my own thing, im gonna be on the look out if people do come by. If peace isnt an option for them, it wont be one of mine. If i sink, so be it. If people are not willing to learn how to defend themselves from attackers, they probably wont have a good experience regardless
