I just got my Bible today in the mail. You did an honest review. I expected the quality to be better for the price I paid. Some pages did stick, nothing ripped. It's hard to read words on a page because you can also see words on the other side of the same page. DT endorsing this Bible did get me to purchase my first Bible. So, in that sense it was a good thing and worth it. I want to be close to God and learn more about my religion. They shipped Bible without messaging me about it. I had no clue it was arriving. Luckily, I was home when mailman arrived. There shouldn't be translucent pages and sticky pages for the high price. Also, Lee Greenwood hand written lyrics are a copy. I actually made the mistake of thinking it would be handwritten for each Bible since there was a limited amount of Bibles according to them. I give this Bible a 6/10. But 10/10 for Bible contents. For those wondering if they should buy this Bible, save your money and get regular king James version for a lot less. You can get declaration of Independence, constitution, etc separately.

Forget you make no mention of the current Caesar declaring Easter Sunday as a day for Trans and Pride. Further, they are not divorced, America exists because of the tenants of Christianity. Those other documents exist to apply those tenants to Caesar. Language that is being ignored, manipulated, destroyed, more now than the entire history of this Country. I don't have the Bible for the very reasons you mentioned, nor am I passing judgment for those that chose not to divorce their freedom from their faith. Bibles should not be used as a political tool by any politician.
That's why separation of religion and state SHOULD step into place..

When I was a kid and went to church, the minister always said you shouldn't pay for a Bible. Anyone that tries to sell you one is dishonest.

Some of my Bibles also have extensive footnotes and interesting essays on the meaning of passages or the context. I am happy to pay for the hard work these devout men and women have done that helps me.

I had training from a french bookbinder. I was not able to make it a living as my teacher returned to France and passed from this life after two years of my training. I was in commercial printing for many years and learned of current mass production technique of notch binding that looks like sewn.
So, basically, the ones he bought from Lee Greenwood's leftovers are what's called Remainders in the book business. They are books, from obscure to best sellers that are left over when sales slow. They'm were often on big tables in the middle of the store, from 99¢ to maybe $4.99.

Also, this Bible isn't produced by President Trump and he never stated it was. He simply chose on Easter to promote people getting a Bible and getting into the Word, and chose his personal friend Lee Greenwood's Bible to promote.
Lee is the one that is on a mission to promote Biblical based patriotism including and especially to new immigrants.
A lot of book printing factories are (after all the rigmarole of contractor companies) in China, and they often just use whatever materials are cheap,.as opposed to what the customer ordered.
Sad, because a lot of quality art books used to be printed in Hong Kong.

How is the entire Bible printed (in large print) in a book that’s two inches thick?
I have only the first 5 books with some commentary, and it’s five inches thick.
I've worked in the book publishing industry for over 34 years. I know a thing or two about how books get published-including Bibles. Based on the overall appearance of the Trump Bible, I will guarantee that it's cheaply published in China. That's why there's no copyright page, which is actually slightly illegal. They did register the ISBN number with the government, the Library of Congress. The version of the text that was used, the King James version, is considered public domain and therefore free use to anyone who wants to publish a Bible cheaply. More recently versions including the NIV and RSV are still copyrighted. The gilded edges are causing the Bible pages to stick together. It's a thin coating that's applied after the book is printed and bound. The other supplemental elements, i.e. Declaration of Independence, Constitution, etc. are also public domain and free use. So the only cost to the publisher is the printing, which is likely less than $1 in US currency. Selling them for $60 is an enormous profit, especially when you consider that all of this information could be easily found online for free. There's also the issue of them only available in large print, which means there's a clearly defined target audience, gullible seniors. For someone like Trump who claims that the Bible is his favourite book, which he reads daily, it surprises me to learn that when he recently attended a fundraising event sponsored by a Christian organization, he was asked to lead the audience in reciting the Lord's Prayer. But he didn't know the words. Even an atheist would likely know the words to this common prayer.
Many atheists I know have read the Bible cover-to-cover and some also read the Torah and the Koran. It's because they are curious people and they want to know what others believe and why. Many say that reading the Bible either put the first doubts in their mind or confirmed their lack of belief.
One of my good friends was an older atheist (now deceased) who was often asked to be on a local talk-radio show to talk about atheism. The host always suggested that callers not try to argue the Bible with Joe because he knew it better than most of them. But they would call and read Bible verses to him and Joe would quote from memory passages of scripture that totally contradicted those verses.

As a European it always amazes me that a lot of Americans seem to think God has a special interest in the USA. Shouldn’t religion rise above political borders and nation states. In my opinion it is so childish but also dangerous.

But as I said in another comment, if I were an American and a believer, I'd be pissed that something I consider sacred was being used as a crass publicity stunt and cash grab. There's only a very small portion of the population that doesn't have significant reason to be offended by this. Sadly, they seem to be the ones most likely to forgive Trump absolutely anything.
My mom was both a tremendously patriotic person and a devout Christian. She would not have liked a Bible with a flag on it, and would have said that both are cheapened by the juxtaposition. Did I see this correctly? For a publication that blatantly violates the separation of church and state (i.e. patriotic documents have absolutely no business in a Bible), it doesn't contain Amendments 11 through 27 of the Constitution?!
The words “separation of Church and State” are not found in the Constitution itself, but the concept is found in the first amendment and the idea permeated both the reasons for the founding of the United States and the ideals of our founding fathers. The words “separation of Church and State” were written by Thomas Jefferson, but not found in the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, or the Declaration of Independence. However, our Founding Fathers would not have questioned this. Freedom of religion was the man reason they fled British tyranny, a nation led by the unelected leader of the Church of England.
It would only violate the 1st Amendment (the basis for the seperation fo church and state), the government would have to be studying it. The publisher, Trump and Greenwood are all private citizens and can publish anything they want. A lot of people use the 1st 10 amendments because they were originally part of the constitution in order to get it ratified.
Making a deal out of not having the rest is getting a little unreasonable.
The "separation of church and state" phrase alluded to prohibiting an official state religion - not the discouragement of spirituality in American lives.

Evidently, it does not include the whole US Constitution. It stops at the 10th amendment, it does not include the thirteenth that abolished slavery, and none of the 17 amendments after the Bill of Rights.

Our friends decided to call around church to see if we they can give us a Bible. They happily said we can pick it up after church. We asked how much, they said whatever we want to donate for the church, but if money is tight, no issue at all.

Just happened to see your channel and stayed for curiosity's sake. I also have a collection of Bibles, my degree of many years ago was divinities (I was there for world religion history aka Oriental history before 1600 lol).
Most of my Bibles are odd ones I've collected, and kept respectfully, but rarely use. My workhorses are a 50s Scofield and my old favorite New Oxford annotated (with apocrypha of course). I love the poetry and integrity of the New Oxford. I took Coptic Greek and Latin in school, and the old Vulgate still is handy.

So many people hammer Scripture with no historical understanding of the particular text they're using, or the cultural and historical constructs.
I admit it gets my back up to be quoted KJV by someone I know would be overwhelmed by Shakespeare. I know that sounds arrogant, but I just want people to slow down and realize that it's no sin to learn the context and history of the version of their text and it's placement in the world. It makes the experience richer.
I also don't blame people who don't want that, but encourage them to find translations (almost said compilations) that suit their needs and can bring them closer to the understanding they're searching for with less literary confusion.

Spot on. I'll stick with my own faith's hardcover Bible.
I wish retailer's would stop shipping books in mailer envelopes, because books easily get damaged in shipping.
