I’m not American and I don’t understand Americans blind devotion to a political party. I don’t know what party Katie is from but everything I have ever heard from her makes complete sense. Even though she very much is the best person for the job . She’s one of the best and brightest we have that’s willing to be in public service.
The only differences she’s not corrupt and doesn’t accept PAC money or money from lobbyists
I don’t know if we have a single congressman in this country in any state or federal seat who is more qualified or more deserving of the job and the trust of the American people. We have very fierce advocates in Porter and Crockett and several other Democratic congressman as well.
Imagine if every politician was this rational and competent.

to be a top contender for president. The man who mentioned his race meant he would choose Porter even in a race that included the excellent Kamala Harris. I think Katie Porter's appeal crosses many lines and draws a diverse group who are there for the substance. That is in no way meant to be a dig at VP Harris. She is more centrist than the Progessives' darling Porter.

70 yr old Canadian here …in 1985 I gave birth to my only child …had 6 months of PAID maternity leave and subsidized day care when I went back to work! Fast forward to 2024 and Canadians now have the option of 12 months paid maternity leave with an additional 6 months unpaid and we now have 10$ a day …day care for our children! No system can be perfect but as a single working Mother the options were fabulous! When my American daughter in law gave birth in 2017 in the US you cannot believe how shocked and saddened I was to learn that she was given only 6 weeks of mat leave from her employer …6 weeks is not enough time to heal from childbirth ! I absolutely cannot believe that what’s supposed to be the “most powerful “ country in the world is so far behind the eight ball in women and Children’s rights all the while they are trying to erase every single right that women for many generations have been fighting for ! It’s disgraceful and they should be ashamed of themselves ! Come on ladies …show these folks that we mean business …vote blue💙💙💙💙

You can call me a socialist but I think universal healthcare, a small universal income and basic housing should be provided to everybody. If you want more you earn it but at least your basics are met. No homeless, no people sick and dying because they can't afford a trip to the ER. No kids going hungry while their mom works three jobs.
