I posted a review for your instructional, but it has not been published on bjjf website. I just wanted to let you know the content is gold, and the structure and layout was perfect for my home study. I learned a little from this channel, and have use your techniques before the lockdown. I'm a big guy who likes half and deep half... But so do all of the other big guys I roll with. Your half butterfly is awesome in dealing with guys that knew my old man game. Thank you Aaron... And your good friend tie, I appreciate all you do. Love from the UK.
Joe Pich thanks so much Joe! I really appreciate that! I’ve had a bunch of other people mention their having issues with reviews but I really appreciate the effort! I’m glad that it’s helped your game, seriously! Thanks again, if I find out what’s wrong with the reviews I’ll let you know
I thought this video would help me understand a few techniques better...instead it made me realize how much more I need to learn. I guess that's just how BJJ works. Thank you for a helpful and informative video.
Nice man. Starting to find myself in DHG more and more, esp when escaping mount or from half guard. Gonna work on the SLX transition, and waiter sweep as my plan b.
In the deep half is okay to roll your opponent over to get more of a single leg take down. I have more of a pressure game, so feel it suits me. But, I am not sure if it is an actual technique. And, if it is, what other transitions can I use?
You can definitely do that. My coach bernardo has the best deep half transitions into the single leg. I’d recommend checking out more of his stuff. Sounds like a great fit!
I’m afraid of getting kimuraed with that “awkward” grip- since I’m a smaller guy, I’m always wary of a bigger dude just grabbing and cranking something even if the position isn’t technically correct.
1:07 getting into deep half
1:25 get on your side
3:28 using butterfly hooks
3:57 into SLX**
5:31 forward shuck
7:30 important details
In 20 years of grappling, this is the best deep half guard technique I've viewed. Thank you.
Your new instructional is awesome. I bought it last week!
Awesome man! Thanks for the support!

Every time I try to get on my side (your first tip) it seems to make it easier for the opponent to get his knee down to the mat.

CharlesNgo I used to choke with my students that if they saw me in deep half I didn’t plan on being there 😂 I’ve grown to enjoy it though

Being around 150, I feel you very much... happens every time with the bigger guys :/
Still looking for the answer to that problem...
so basically every half ass sweep from deep half lol tbh theirs only so many moves thata ctually work vs black belts anyways
These have worked for me against plenty of black belts - its all about timing
