Mr. BMac... thanks for this video and others you've done on deep half. Been focused on this position for a few weeks now. On a sort of related topic, this is the second clip where I've heard you mention a flow of the month. Is this how you warmup your students? If so, is this the totality of your warmup routine?
Yes sir that’s how I do it. 25 reps to open up the class. This is my deep half course. It’s $29 and def worth checking out, just to see how i structure that bmac.mykajabi.com/offers/C2b6nbTh/checkout
This is my first time seeing Deep Half Guard. It looks like the difference between having your opponent in deep half and being in your opponent’s S-mount is having their foot and leg trapped between yours. Is that a pretty accurate generalization?
Similar positions but in S mount the top players knee would be under their shoulder raising their arm above their head. In the deep half the knee is over the shoulder and the bottom players arm is hooking the leg
If they went 2 v 1 on your far arm that means they became vulnerable, comitting too much, to be trown off in front of u because they can not post arms. Probably opening up enough space for you to go under and try the backtake. You can set this up as a bait. And also If you manage to catch one of their hand and give it to your other underhooked hand you get his arm trapped. Like you are fishing lol. Deep half fishing.
Awesome freaking detail. Knee vs hip WOW!!!
Thanks B dog, deep half is amazing and understated.
Loved this, thank you! I always unintentionally end up in deep half somehow, might as well learn something lol
Perfect video for my b-day. Cheers!
Thank you so much for your content.
My pleasure!
Thankyou 👍
Thanks!
Awesome vid. Anyone know what the very first thing was called, and if there’s another video of it?

keep em comin. Why do so many of the students chew gum? lol
Stress relief and breath control.
@@arbitrarymadness Seems kinda risky though. Rolling is enough of a choking hazard in and of itself. Also it looks pretty dumb honestly.
@@para_bellum_1984 I agree - makes an otherwise attractive person look dumb. Ugh.
It keeps me calm and helps me think. Been doing it since white belt.

Not quite

@@robbiewoolsey Thank you!

What do I do if they attack my far arm with a two on one? They rarely get a sub, but it stalls the position.
you gotta tuck that hand under the leg you're attached to early, or it's an issue.
@@Hekilikaua Thanks
