I like when he puts his hand on his hip at 3:56 like a sassy little teapot.
Hahaha!!!! I screamed at this, lol.
Loool
Why is Keenan solo drilling this one?
Wow! I wish I could tie my belt that fast! 10:27
lol
The video was slowed down to capture it.
Love it. Waiter Sweep is always my go to when going to deep half.
Lovely details!
Dexterity is in your hands. Love your vids.
Thank you Keenan from Russia.good video.
Thx a lot man great detail
well done Keenan ! thks
Thank you Bro!!
@Keenan Cornelius you basically just taught my whole guard game except for like 5 things. Lmao
Thanks buddy
thank you!!
Thanks for the details Keenan! I like the step over the head counter. I have a question for the move at 18:15 though. It looks like both of your arms are trapped (your right arm under his armpit and your left arm under his back). So is this possible for the bottom guy to keep rolling to his right side, possibly with a hips bridge and a grip on your pants with his left hand and a grip on the back of your gi with his right hand, to sweep you? Thank you.
Thanks
Great videos Keenan. I subscribed! Hope you keep up with UA-cam. I think it will really pay off 😎
Theres no coming back from a camo gi.
Nice, comprehensive vid. Keenan, are you able to use your defenses if uke is in more classical deep half, controlling your right hip as opposed to your left? Just curious?
Deep half is starting to remind me of funk style wrestling
Is that jungle camo gi?
Never saw BJJ inside a box before but its ok
Did you record this in the crazy house? Padded walls, padded floors.
Thanks Keenan for a fantastic free video. But - giving up the underhook makes the Faria sweep even stronger muahaha. It binds the top player to the bottom player which makes the bridge highly effective.
Gotta learn how to tie my belt like that
the magic teleport the belt into place trick
These are cool moves, but when are you gonna show them with a training partner?
I'm thankful for all this new solo drilling content!
Ahhh 😝 (camo)
Hahaaaaaa
I want that tactical gi
Question unrelated to technique. I noticed it looked like Uke had talcum powder on his rash guard? I don’t want to assume to much so what is it’s purpose (if in fact that’s what it is)?
No, my rash guard is just faded.
What gi is that? The navy blue is awesome.
Think it's a hyperfly gi
What happened to your live videos man
never show deep half defence...
as the one who gets stuck in DHG i appreciated this!
I play a lot of deep half guard and that's exactly how some guy shut down my game. Even without knowing what they're doing. Any idea about how to counter that position?? (As the half guard player??
As the deep half player when the put the knee down and step the other leg up, immediately wrap your arm around the leg and grab your lapel. With your free hand, do a Turkish get up (works even on heavyweights as all their weight is on their knee that’s on the floor) and just sweep them into an over-under position. I actually PREFER to sweep from this counter because the Turkish get up is so strong. Just keep in mind you have to have a strong neck to leg so that they don’t pass the leg over, and grab your own lapel so that even if they DO pass the leg over you still have the sweep but not the over-under pass.
@@MattfknKonen EXACTLY, the higher level the guy the more likely they fall for this sweep. Glover calls it "over the falls"
@@MattfknKonen exactly
Knee nan Korn kneelius
I’m having problems when I’m doing the deep half guard when someone takes their arm and weaves between my legs sort of like what you do when there’s a knee shield does anybody have a counter for that I can’t get the sweep because he has his hand weaved in between both my legs
12:04 it looks like this whole thing is predicated on the DHG player grabbing the far-hip rather than the near-hip.
Also, using hook style controls on the ankle rather than just crossing the feet over the ankle would probably make it every difficult to bend your leg to put the knee on the mat.
Where can I get a camo gi?
I don't know, I've never seen one before
The Reverse Mantis LOL
Are you close friends with Seth Green or is he just a student?
8:45
I wish he drill this with an actual person instead of solo.
Brasil!!!
America!
@@fritzdagger you're awesome!
@@fritzdagger your thoughts on Bravo's combat jujitsu aka JJ with bitch slaps?
Also, as unified mma rules allow grabbing your own shorts and gloves, are there some neglected gi BJJ moves that could exploit these stipulations?
Noel Gallagher with red hair
You mean half nelson

That can not be the same red head. His hair changes his face it seems.
Wth is "deep half"? Have no idea what you're doing under him without an explanation of what this is and its purpose
Look up deep half on youtube, it is a variation of half guard that can be very effective especially against much heavier opponents.
Bernardo Faria, Jake McKenzie, Jeff Glover or Ryan Hall. Watch them.
Doesn’t Eddie Bravo do deep half guard?
@@noahmoran2885 Not really; Eddie mostly played quarter guard and lockdown half guards in competitions that I've seen.
Oh, ok
