This is a good Rice Pudding recipe. I like using leftover rice because it is creamy or cook the rice in milk and not water. May I suggest to always buy a GOOD Cinnamon, not just any ol' Cinnamon. Vietnamese Cinnamon is what I saw and bought and the flavor is over the top. Buy the whole Nutmeg and grate it. The whole Nutmeg lasts 100 years on the shelf. Just be careful with anything other than Ceylon cinnamon (which is the true cinnamon and much less spicy while being much more healthful). The problem with the spicy cinnamon (which is REALLY cassia) is that it is toxic if you eat too much of it. I actually prefer that you call the "good" cinnamon for flavor, but it is NOT the cinnamon that it touted for health benefits. (And the "good" cinnamon is also MUCH cheaper than the true cinnamon.)
Should've said size pan n to grease it up , you pouring mixture in then you greased pan , watchers already put into their pan Not right state it before you pour in mixture so folks will know ...
Then u say grease pan after you pour it in your pan Easier to go by a recipe that list the ingredients and their amount n ahead of time to grease your pan n what size pan u would need

I grew up with rice pudding made by my German grandma and we would have homemade rice pudding at school once a month. I have seen a lot of recipes because I like trying different variations but I have never seen directions to stir it while it cooks. It's a custard, you don't stir baked custard, you don't even open the oven door while it's baking. If you have the correct ratio of rice to custard it won't separate. He had way too much liquid for the rice he used. This wasn't rice pudding it was custard with rice and raisins. I think that's why he didn't give us a good look at the finished product because I'm sure there was a layer or rice at the bottom with a layer of custard on top. His recipe would work if he used uncooked rice.
My grandmother made a custard that was like a thick liquid. She would have to stir constantly and watch her temperature, not too hot. A little on a slow way but it is one of my many favorite memories. She brought it to me when I was sick. I so loved it. ❤️😇😌

Excellent rice pudding! Made it today. It’s very good with the golden raisins. Perhaps soaking the raisins in a favorite liquor overnight before making the pudding could make it a tasty dessert. I like the custard consistency. It baked perfectly for 1 hour.

This is different. I've been making rice pudding for over fifty years, using the same recipe that my grandmother used. It's never had eggs in it. Ours has short-grain rice, milk, cream and sugar. That's it. At Christmas, it's eaten as part of the main meal, with a spoonful of jam. I'm always amazed how differently dishes with the same name are made across the world.

Will have to try this recipe, my mom use to make it from raw rice, milk, sugar, little lemon & cinnamon, my sister loved putting the raisin after, but don't remember Momma putting it in the over, it was always over the stove! We girls would wait for Momma to give us each a spoonful
The traditional German rice pudding always has nutmeg and cinnamon, some recipes call for cardamom, cloves and allspice as well or you can just use apple pie spice that's already premixed. Dried cranberry is a great alternative to raisins or in addition, any dried fruit will work.

I have been making baked rice pudding all of my life, but have never put egg in it, or cinnamon. Also, only ever used dried, uncooked pudding rice. A very light sprinkle of nutmeg on the top helps to colour the skin.

Will have to try this recipe, my mom use to make it from raw rice, milk, sugar, little lemon & cinnamon, my sister loved putting the raisin after, but don't remember Momma putting it in the over, it was always over the stove! We girls would wait for Momma to give us each a spoonful

The traditional German rice pudding always has nutmeg and cinnamon, some recipes call for cardamom, cloves and allspice as well or you can just use apple pie spice that's already premixed. Dried cranberry is a great alternative to raisins or in addition, any dried fruit will work.

@@dianemanson7756 Our grade school cooks were all older ladies from the church, they made everything from scratch and put big bowls of the rice pudding on the table with a big pat of butter on the top. It was soooo good.

Well, I made the rice pudding today the only difference to your Rice pudding i used Black rice and instead of cream I put can of condensed milk it was fabulous the rice was at the bottom custard was on the top with a beautiful brown skin on the top which I love but I am only one person I should never of made such a big pudding I have just eaten two big bowls of it it is gorgeous Egg custard rice pudding two of my favourite things thank you so much for sharing take care of yourself and happy days Christine

Amazing!! Last night i find your recipe and i love it!! So i made it for me and my family and my husband and our son say: yes!! American recipe! Lol i am mexican and i make the rice pudding very different i love it too. We called arroz con leche just i don't add the risings, we don't like it.

I have been making baked rice pudding all of my life, but have never put egg in it, or cinnamon. Also, only ever used dried, uncooked pudding rice. A very light sprinkle of nutmeg on the top helps to colour the skin.
