8:38 "I don't normally put the cable around like that". There's literally another controller in the background with the cable wrapped around it just like that 🤣
lol, well I meant to say retro game controllers. I try not to wrap older controllers like that to try to make sure the cable doesnt get screwed up. But yeah I have some newer stuff I just didnt care to do differently. I need to get some more velcro straps which is what I been using to keep things not a mess.
@@videostash413 I tend to wrap them how they would have come new and use a velcro strap. Some controllers if you wrap them the way I had in this video the cable can get damaged or get loose where it connects to the top of the controller due to tension.
@@Madlittlepixel What I did as a kid is leave some slack at the base of the wire so it's not bent and then wrap it around the controller, keeping it slightly loose while wrapped too. But yeah, factory style wrap is best.
I think with the influence you have on this community these could be a decent option for some of the more creative types to create a new case and find better buttons/membranes. This is almost worth it if it becomes a touch cheaper and the community is able to help take it over the top as a decent quality portable for people that want a modern nomad and don't want to wait or like the look of the hyperkin one. Now my only question is if it's compatible with certain games that clone systems usually have issues with?
Wow! I had no idea this was a thing. For something to play Genesis games on a fairly decent handheld sounds like a good thing. Sure I would rather have a Nomad, but by the time I found out about it which was probably early 2000s it was pretty scarce as it was. Now it’s just way out of my price range to have an officially licensed product. If Retro But or Hyperkin makes one, I would probably buy it as well because I love my Genesis collection!
Hey MLP , i think its freaking awesome 👍 and im jealous that you own this magical portable Genesis , , it seems to have a region-switch , , and you can do excellent screen captures with this , just WOW 😮😂😂👍
One thing to note about this thing for importers: It does NOT play region coded pal games! Found this out the hard way. Anything genesis, japanese or games that aren't region coded should work fine, but pal games that have region coding will display the ''not supported on this region's console'' message.
I love the Genesis. Still my fave since 1992, when I got one. I gotta ask, does Master System games work? Also does Virtua Racing (I doubt it), Game Gear (because I’ve seen some adapters kinda work on real hardware) but we also gotta ask about 32X (I strongly doubt that one, I’ve not yet see a clone 32X)
depending on how much retro-bit wants for theirs, if this winds up being a better deal I may go with it instead! nice to know they included a region switch for importers, I know there were a few games that were region locked as I recall.
For ninety-one dollars? Nah. That's within striking distance of the ARC-S, and even though that doesn't take Genesis cartridges, I'm sure it plays Genesis games (and a whole bunch of other things) just fine.
Looks almost as compact as the Hyperkin FC Mobile II, but at least they got the emulation done right unlike AtGames and their embarrassing use of the Firecore emulator which severely butchered the music emulation.
unfortunately for the limited functionality this would need to be less than 40 dollars to be worth it. For the same price companies like Anbernic and Retroid make handhelds with HD touchscreens and SD card inputs that not only have the HDMI output but they will also run games on every platform including the full tower of power from Atari 2600 up to Game Cube and even PS2
I was really excited for this after how good their 16 bit Pocket MD Plus (Genesis portable with a LCD screen) and their 8 bit Pocket IPS HDMI (a really good portable Famicom, in which this Genesis clone shape and IPS screen is based), but this one sucks. Screen aspect ratio is wrong both in the IPS and HDMI out, and is deinterlacing by cutting half the frames.
That's cause the ARC units are not meant to play just Genesis games, they are replicating arcade, Sega Saturn, Super NES, and PS1 games. I think AtGames use to make one that had a Genesis cartridge slot, the handheld is called the GenMobile.

How else you gonna do it?

Pretty cool but for the price its a little hard to stomach for the cheap buttons and such though but solid handheld.

I really like how it uses a easily replaceable Li-Ion battery. 2000 mAh is a low capacity, so it could be replaced with 3200-3500 mAh
I know Columbus Circle from their retro re-releases like Retrobit, mostly on Famicom. They have some Genesis releases too.
Quackshot!!!!! love that game!
I think I still have the cartridge. I downloaded the rom(legally of course 😩🤣🥴)and added it to my modded sega mini 🤓
Nice, I just ordered one. Thanx for the 411
I really need to upgrade the screen on my Nomad. It's already got an upgrade and triple bypass. But it's time to go next level on the screen.

I probably would buy one. But I have a Nomad with an older LCD screen mod.
Does not seem bad for the price. I like the way the aspect ratio can be adjusted on the fly.
a genuinely cool alternative to the sega nomad.

2:35 OJ Simpson 🤣👍
The D-Pad is the big turn off for me. I prefer the OG Genesis D-Dpad.
I have the previous version , love it. I don’t need to upgrade, as mine works like a champ

No great loss the 32X didnt have many games
@@flatcapman true, but there’s more than zero. So I’m of the opinion ‘heck, why not?’

Remember that the image is just upscale HD, it's not true integer scale like FPGA. I would only get this for around $50 and only for portable play.
Pretty cool for the price. I'd certainly consider it for a nerd party I have coming up.

Not bad, but pricey for what it is. I'd spend a little more and get an RG-ARC instead and just emulate.
This console is great.
Very cool!
Seems like a good alternative for the jp market. Very switch like.
Is it just me or is their 4:3 still too wide?
It's not just you.
I was thinking the same thing when seeing the aspect ratio changes.
Looks almost as compact as the Hyperkin FC Mobile II, but at least they got the emulation done right unlike AtGames and their embarrassing use of the Firecore emulator which severely butchered the music emulation.
It looks pretty good, but the sound issues ugh T
Awesome Chucky doll
Got mine several months ago. Had some drama with Amazon Japan...
Did you review the MD200 Neocade as yet?

That handheld looks like it was made for Christmas. 😅😅
Will it play both PAL MegaDrive and NTSC Genesis carts?
this is pretty cool
Playing on the big screen and using headphones would require audio coming from both sources.
does this thing come with any games . ALso thats very unusual battery how do you recharge it ?
Heck yeah 👍
When you seen the controllers wrapped in plastic and look like candy bags
It looks 100% better than Hyperkin's by virtue of actually being released XD
Man, I wish the Anbernic Arc units had cart slots.

why do you need cart slots when you can load an SD card with the full library
does it work with Mega SD?
its cool but so much more out there.

Well.... If you ever wanted a sega nomad, but didn't want to fork up the huge price then this would probably be a great alternative.
WOAH REWIND It plays Sega CD Ron but does it play Sega CD Japanese RPGS?
yes, via a flashcart like was shown... but unfortunately you will not have CD audio... maybe some sound effects and stuff just not the CD music.
@@Madlittlepixel if it plays Mega Drive Japanese exclusives translated to English I am def getting this
Where you get your chucky from
OJ Simpson? 😂
Ninguna le embona al mad little pixel 😂
Plays US carts?
yes and Japanese
It's just on the edge of looking like a cheap piece of crap and yet being in "kinda want" territory.
It got juice
Looks garbage minus the screen
It's cool...but that color scheme.
Those are the Japanese Mega Drive colors XD
@cyxceven not on the console though. Just on the MD logo. That would be acceptable.
Japan doesn't have infinity money like before. Everything is MADE IN CHINA now😂
It’s just plastic dude
