    I work security at a mall that has aggressive drunks all 10 hours it's open and got punched by a manic chick in the face
    Instinctively went straight for the double you showed in the second takedown, she was practically unharmed and the cops and my uppers said I did nothing wrong during that takedown (appropriate use of force for self defense, as we aren't allowed to go hands on except in self defense)
    2 years of sucking shit at wrestling saved my ass in a good couple ways from going home with only a light bruise and a couple cuts and from a potential court case and write up lmao

    See, I’m a wrestler too. And I remember when I was about 17, and at that time I was actually training SHOOT FIGHTING and KARATE KEMPO on the side, and because I was CO-CAPTAIN, and then CAPTAIN, I had a winning record of 17-3 and wrestled all 4 years plus dud SHARK BAIT CAMPS. Anyways.. one day.. a kid from a group home picked a fight with me. I had no choice but to defend. My wrestling worked a little bit, but this guy was bigger than me, and he had brothers. I was an only child. I ended up in a stalemate basically with me in top control position. Moral of the story is... isn’t size always a problem for the grappler. It’s so useful yet so unreliable. For self defense I’m saying. It’s needed, yet isn’t the exact answer. Idk. Your thoughts please. 😇💯☑️☮️

    Until you smash your forehead on the ground. You never want to go to the ground in a street fight. That's where you get stabbed or stomped on.

  • @reverbautopsy9093
    @reverbautopsy9093 Рік тому +2

    Can you double leg slam someone without going to the ground yourself? Guys double legging others on the street can KO themselves if their opponent has them in guillotine and the takedown is sloppily executed. It even happened to Gray Maynard many years ago in the UFC.

    • @Unstrict
      @Unstrict 10 місяців тому +1

      Not really worth it but im MMA and not an amazing wrestler. Going to ground is kinda needed to win in wrestling and BJJ lol. But there are probably some good Judo throws you could look at, so to your question I'd say there are better takedowns and throws for that.

    • @reverbautopsy9093
      @reverbautopsy9093 10 місяців тому

      @@Unstrict Yes, but bjj and wrestling are sports with rules, and it's also kind of the point to go to the ground. But that's the last thing I'd ever want to do in a real fight where there's no rules unless I screwed up and something went terribly wrong. I do agree with Judo being better for the street but that double leg is so high percentage and dominant though.

    • @qp9259
      @qp9259 6 місяців тому +1

    • @adamturowski3765
      @adamturowski3765 Рік тому

      Groin shots were allowed in the early UFC. I think UFC 5 event contained a fifth where the guy took repeated groin shots on the ground.

    • @qp9259
      @qp9259 6 місяців тому

      Already happened. UFC allowed for groin shots early on, as did a lot of the inital copycat promotions. IIRC the only thing that was illegal was eye gouges.
      To this day Combat Sambo still does still allow for groin strikes. I also wouldn't be too surprised if Vale Tudo does.
