It's safe to say Sandy and Harry was also into the drug scene but i think it was only cocaine. Gia was slacking off because she was shooting heroin. Heroin makes you sleepy and lousy. Cocaine energizes your body so you can still work like Harry and Sandy but of course, just like any other drug, it can make you crazy and hallucinate. Kate Moss was called heroin chic but she never tried heroin. She was alcoholic and a crack addict. Kate Moss was extremely wild but she was careful not to mess with heroin. According to Elyssa Golden (Gia's long term girlfriend), Gia was shooting 4 bags of Heroin per day. An average person can be screwed with just half a bag. Gia had a high tolerance. You can imagine. A person shooting like that is not easy to be with. But i think it was not all drugs, she had some BIPOLAR too. Gia had so many mental and emotional baggage which none of her girlfriends can ever handle. It was only her mother who can handle it but the mother never had enough time for any of her children. Wilhelmina's death wasn't relevant to the fashion industry either. It's part of the reason Gia got more frustrated. Gia started questioning everyone's friendship. It's in Stephen Fried's book. They were talking about business and not grief. Gia never wanted to model. She did it to please her mother. If her mother was smart enough, she would have focused on Gia and became her personal assistant in NYC. Sad as this may sound but in that way, Gia can be spoiled with her time and the mother can be spoiled with money and fame.

I've seen Carol in interviews and she seems to have a sense of self, an identity and a foundation. Now she could be putting on but I don't think so. Carol probably had a better family structure and upbringing. But Gia in interviews I could see the soulless eyes and the disdain she had for modeling, her confusion at times and I believe different personas in Gia. Everyone celebrated Gia for her androgynous style and ways and being described as having a boy - girl thing about herself but its obvious that Gia had no real identity defined within herself and she was celebrated for that. In addition the sad burn behind her eyes was seen as artistic, fashionable and appealing to the masses. But the whole time everyone said they could feel her self destructiveness it appealed to them and they loved it in fashion and Gia brought it but little did they realize until it was too late that it was destroying her and it did in a horrific way. I bet Gia was terrified too of what she had become but she couldn't get back and when she did it was too late she had the virus by then.

She probably needed to get her fix and once you get it sometimes your so high that you just nod off. Why junkies can’t every be on time/cancel a lot. Ppl didn’t care to look into this because as long as they got the shot they wanted from Gia, her addiction wasn’t a problem. And when it became a problem they just didn’t want anything to do with her. It was the I don't remember the month that I hear but a mutual friend, hairdresser, Harry King, phoned me and told me Gia's dad had just called him. Her dad said Gia had just passed away from pneumonia. Pneumonia was a word used for many AIDS deaths. I didn't even know she was ill.
I think sandy like other people in this era was experimental with sex, and I'm sure she did have a good time with her in the beginning, but Gia was looking for someone to love her, to have a relationship with, so they were at cross purposes. I'm sure that sandy does regret her actions with Gia but keep in mind, Gia was needy, clingy and when she was strung out this was amplified. Gia had a lot of inside pain long before she was addicted. Others said, she was so little girl like, special, vulnerable that everyone loved her. It is tragic because that love Gia desperately wanted from her mom was transferred to others at the height of the experimental period and drugs and sexual exploration. I remember her, those covers, she was the it girl, the espire to be girl when you were 17 and wanted so badly to be a model, to be desired and she broke through a door that had been locked in this industry by being herself. That's a hell of an accomplishment. But there is a difference between being great at something and having passion to do it because you love it. Gia hated modeling, she never wanted it, starved herself for it like other girls, she just was a natural in front of the camera and used it to have the life she dreamed of, but I often wondered how much of that is really true. She died at 26, how much could you have lived at that age 😳 😢

I think sandy like other people in this era was experimental with sex, and I'm sure she did have a good time with her in the beginning, but Gia was looking for someone to love her, to have a relationship with, so they were at cross purposes.
I'm sure that sandy does regret her actions with Gia but keep in mind, Gia was needy, clingy and when she was strung out this was amplified. Gia had a lot of inside pain long before she was addicted.
Others said, she was so little girl like, special, vulnerable that everyone loved her.
It is tragic because that love Gia desperately wanted from her mom was transferred to others at the height of the experimental period and drugs and sexual exploration.
I remember her, those covers, she was the it girl, the espire to be girl when you were 17 and wanted so badly to be a model, to be desired and she broke through a door that had been locked in this industry by being herself. That's a hell of an accomplishment.
But there is a difference between being great at something and having passion to do it because you love it.
Gia hated modeling, she never wanted it, starved herself for it like other girls, she just was a natural in front of the camera and used it to have the life she dreamed of, but I often wondered how much of that is really true.
She died at 26, how much could you have lived at that age 😳 😢
