I really appreciate your help. I've never seen one that wasn't notched out on the bottom to access the screw. I'll pull it out tomorrow and give it a look. I need to do some cleaning and maintenance on it this week anyways. I'll tryin increase the oil flow and retry the 28" bar. If it's still lacking I'll add the oiler to my next to buy list.

Good luck, once you clean it up and in good light, I'm sure you will see the screw head, it's in there about 1 1/2 inches.

@@jimssawsnstuff8903 cleaned it up out in the light with some carb cleaner. I had use a bigger screwdriver to pry over the saws suspension a bit to find the screw, but was able to adjust it about a quarter turn. I put my 28" bar back on it and checked for oil spray off the bars tip and it is measurably better. I tried it on a 26" red oak log and after a couple cuts you could certainly tell a difference. Before the bar and chain would be hot and caked brown from hot chips and dust. Now it's much cleaner. I cant thank you enough for your help, but you have earned a subscriber. I'd of never of found it without your help.

Can a Stihl chainsaw (gas or electric) leak oil from the flow adjustment screw? For example, if the screw is loosened too much?

@@MitchellsBackyardLogging one of the best buys for me has been the Oregon Versacut bars in 24". They are aluminum core with good steel sandwiched on the outside, so the bar is pretty rigid and the rails last a long time, but they are as light as a Stihl light bar, only about 1/2 the $.
They don't have a replaceable tip, but most of the time it's not the tip that goes. 😉
