Thanks for sharing. I just picked up a used M181c and when i got home, the car mat in the foot well was covered in chain oil. I'll be inspecting the parts you mentioned.
Appreciate this. Brought mine new 2 weeks ago and went to use it today and found most of the bar oil leaked out. Hoping it's the cap since it's awful early for the pickup to be hardened.
Rookie question please im still learning. Would their be a way to diagnose the oil tube prior to removal such as pressure testing. Or is it with that tupe of leakage it basically boils down to 2 things. Thank you for your time and help sir.
Unfortunately I don’t know of any trick other than trying to trace the source of the oil. I’d probably start with a cap and see if that fixes it. If not, than you know it’s the tube.
I just bought a new saw 261, and I haven’t even cut with it yet lol. Just ran it a few times. There’s a small amount of bar oil on the bottom. Maybe like a penny sized drop. Not a puddle. Is that normal?
Overheating the brake drum I've found is because someone put the chain brake on then forgot to release it before trying to rev it up. Had that experience awhile back with a friend who forgot to release the brake LOTS of smoke from the brake until I could get his attention and tell him to release the brake. Somewhat embarrassing incident because he did it when his 3 sons were present, the elder of the 3 which we were teaching learned the lesson seeing dad's oopsie.
Yo tengo el mismo problema pero es con una motosierra Stihl 250 se queda drenando aceite por el orificio estando sentada en el en el piso ella sola sin trabajar qué problema revisaré allí

Thank you for this quality video. Would a Stihl 029 tube replacement be similar?

Yes, that much can just be draining off the bar.

Yes, I agree on all counts…it’s from the brake being left on and it is embarrassing…especially if you fancy yourself a woodsman 🤓
Thank You !!!

What size socket did you use on the clutch for removal?
I used the closest inch size, sorry I can't remember the exact size.
19mm or 3/4”
why wouldn't you clean the saw before separating parts
I find it easier to do after they are apart but feel free to do whatever makes sense to you.
WOW what a original video, NOT. repeat of what everybody has been posting for years.
Thanks for checking in.
