Well acted, good character development, has the feel of WOT books despite the differences. I thought it well done and really enjoyed these first 3 episodes.
Im glad there are deticated fans that are not being negative about the changes. We get it, season one was a mess, but noone can deny the upgrade in quality here. As someone who is on their third full reread of the books, i loved these first 3 episodes. Sure there are major changes, but it does feel like the wheel of time finally, and it got me so excited for the rest of the season and future ones.
Book Alanna doesn't even make the list (for one big reason) but show Alanna is my absolute favorite. So terrific. And I'm very very glad they're expanding her role and also her Warders to help bring verisimilitude to the world.
Hard to show Perrins sense of smell and the info he can gather from the different scents. I'm not mad at the choice of how to show Perrins abilities. Hopefully they change/evolve as he accepts the wolf
The first time it happened with the dead tinkers, I thought he was simply seeing what the wolves had seen but that theory fell apart with the scene inside the house. I don't know exactly what they are going for with that tbh but I agree that it would be difficult to depict the way it is in the books.
Omg hah Tomas is TOTALLY a silver fox. So many confused feelings, Bayle Domon has lovely blue eyes and that Welsh accent ❤ Liandrin has me all confused and sympathetic, Ishamael is a vibe, Hot-Masema is a thing. Alanna is on another level. Selene is alluring. Arghh I’m jumping ahead a little but the inner conflict is real

I'm actually a bit sad they got rid of the long intro. I really like the song! And it makes it feel more complete and epic. But then again it gives more time for the story 🤷

I enjoyed season 1 well enough but I’ll admit that so far I’m enjoying this season even more. Even with the changes from the books. Besides they always called this another turning of the wheel, so I’m just going to embrace the changes.

If you watch closely when she gets "stilled", you will see that our Mr. bad man makes a motion with the fingers on his left hand like he is tying a knot. Then tells our favorite blue sister that it must be agony to sense the source just out of reach. If she were stilled she would not be able to even know it was there except for the memory, shielded she can still sense it but not touch it. Then again, with some of the changes they have made who knows.

@@tw7998 Since the bond is a product of the one power and she is shielded from touching it might feel like the bond is broken. But, with some of the changes that have been made not real sure about that yet. Only other thing that might be at play is the might have Nynaeve Heal Moraine and restore her ability to channel. But, that's just me trying to figure out what they are thinking on changes.
@@bulldawg0069 I'm still not sure either way, but wanted to point out that Moirane masked her bond when she took Rand to the Eye of the World. If she was shielded while it was masked and the masking is done with the power, then she cannot unmask it until she breaks through the shield.
That group that we saw the vision of Fain killing, I think that was the little girl and the tinker from the darkfriend social. We saw how Fain smiled at the little girl when Ishy wasn’t looking. I think Fain went after her, on his own (I can’t see any reason why Ishy would have done that. I don’t know if you saw it, but don’t wish to comment on it because it has some spoilery stuff in it, but starting at minute 58:58 there’s a trailer about what will be coming up in the season.
@@bozimsaho5590 Moiraine killed the Fade when they were playing cat and mouse. IMO, it would've been more horrifying to see fades as they are in the books. Fighting headless, taking a long time to die. Moiraine is basically defenseless in hand to hand combat. That's the job of the warders. They seem to have nerfed what should be Captain Americas when it comes to martial arts. Lan should've been able to kill both warders or at least have stalemate.
I agree about seeing the Fades fight on even when headless. I'm just not sure what the cost/practicalities would be to do that and make it look good. Maybe someone will put the question to them/Rafe about whether it was a cost restriction or just a choice. I'll put Moiraine down to a combination of luck, and wariness by the Fades. My deadly comment is because Lan couldn't take them both (I take it you meant the Fades, not Warders), but he hasn't got the edge the bond gives him either@@Deuwl
Well if they had cut the made up storyline with Logain and his capture and just spent the cgi on some Mydraal effects which wouldn't be too hard to edit out head out in post and also use the cgi to do warder cloak it would've been better. No need to show Logain. There's heaps of better scenes to spend the cgi on later on@@bozimsaho5590

If we are assuming 2020 ruined season 1 then we gotta accept the realities left over by the end of that season. Still I think they retconned a bit by ignoring Loial even got stabbed by the dagger. So given the situation, S2 is doing all it can to fall back into line. It just cannot do it from the get go, the pieces though seem to be moving in the right direction. Wouldnt be surprised if by the end of the season we are close to every main character being around where they were at that point in the books. Also in what way is it more blatantly disregarding the show than season 1?
@@vampiricalchemist I had my own issues with season 1 and agree it had some issues, but i think people under-estimate the difficulty of converting 4.4 million words and hundreds of characters into 64 hours of tv. We would all love to see the selene sub story and the mat, thom and rand road trip, and a dozen other favourite scenes such as mat fighting galad and gawyn. The reality is that we would need 10 seasons of 100 episodes to cover everything. Personally i think they are doing a decent job in S2 of telling the story.
Being a book fan myself, going into this series, I knew there would be changes. The more I watch, the more grateful I am for these changes. If they stuck too closely to the books, this series would have less appeal to me because I would know every turn. Now, I can enjoy the story and love the nods to the books.
This show is pissing me off because I now care for both Allanah and Liandrin. How the hell did that happen? Loving it all. 😊👍 that said I did not like episode 8 so my expectations were mixed. This is better than what I thought it would be by a country mile❤️
Not with Liandrin's line with Nynaeve during the lesson. That is pretty much word for word what Ishy said to Moiraine. Meaning, Moiraine is shielded, not stilled.
It was cooler than spidey senses moiriane. She knew where the fade would be because she moved her foot to make noise there, so shed be ready with a knife once it appeared! Moirane has smarts, not spidey sense!
Very exciting beginning! She did say that she thinks Egwene needs to loosen up, right? The characters continue to feel right to me. Especially Nynaeve, my favorite forever, SO stubborn and angry and afraid and determined to do things on her own terms. (Ugh, the dishwater! But she *would*.)
I really am loving how they're just showing things like the Alanna Threesome and Adeleas'.... thirsting... as perfectly normal and not shying away from it, while also not making it gratuitous like GoT did. It's just like "Yep, this is a thing, it's perfectly normal and we don't actually need to dwell on it, but it's here" Though admittedly, me being poly and Ace may have something to do with that mix of reactions :P I'm also really liking what they're doing with Liandrin. She's so much more three dimensional than in the books, I'm really digging it. I do have a couple of gripes for Ep 2/3, but I'll wait until your reaction vids for those episodes before I say anything ;) Overall though, I'm loving this adaptation :)
I'm enjoying this season more than s1 for sure, though to be fair I enjoyed the first half of s1 also. It was only in the back half where it just fell apart for me. I like that they dialed up the violence and action. It feels a lot less YA than s1 did. The storylines so far in s2 are a lot closer to the books for the characters whose stories didn't go completely off the rails in s1. It's going to take some time to get Mat and Rand back even close to their book stories but for Nynaeve, Egwene, Elayne and Perrin, s2 isn't far off the books at all. If they can adapt the rest of it as close as they are those stories, I'd be more than happy.

If I may make one suggestion for future reaction videos, it would be nice if the sound level of the clips you play matched your own sound level. When I saw Nyneave drinking that glass of dirty water, I thought it is a totally Maori woman thing to do when being told to do something by someone in authority. Even my own mother, her cousins and aunties and almost all of my cousins would do that, and flip the bird at Alanna at the same time to provoke her. A Maori man in that situation would either just walk out, or toss the drink all over her because of how Alanna was speaking to her in that moment, or stand there all day not touching it.

I absolutely love you Kritter, but I just CANNOT watch this show anymore. I struggled through the 1st season, figuring the 2nd would be better... but they are just murdering the storyline and the characters. I find myself literally screaming at the screen say OMG NO! NO! It didn't happen that way.. why are they doing it there? How is this even plausibe.. Unfortunately this show has left such a disappointed bad taste in my mouth it quite literally stresses me out to watch it.
Two Jordan fans describe their love for WOT. One describes that story true to the plot, character, and locations because they love the books. The next person, Rafe Jenkins, tells the direct opposite plot events, the inverse of the characters, and changes the entire story. Which fan actually loves the books? I don't understand how you can say you like the books and like the Tv show that destroyes the story you like from the books. Are you payed to say that?
I imagine most of us on this channel are fans of the books. Myself? i think S2 feels like the world of wheel of time, i loved E3 in particular. However i can understand others wanting a closer adaptation that is fine. I am old, i remember LOTR coming out at the pictures. People were upset at the changes to LOTR too at the time.

And LOTR was movie format with 3h pr book not a tv show with 8h pr season. The wheel of time books and tv show is like Mercedes and Lada. They are both cars with an engine and 4 wheels but still far from the same...
@@TheEyewax It was the changes to Faramir that bugged me about LOTR at the time, it was a tiny thing looking back but i hated that he wasn't immediately strong willed enough to reject the ring. I also felt they down powered the gondorians but overall? it is a classic. As for WOT? so far i am enjoying the second season but do appreciate we all have different tastes

Major step up from season 1 , season 1 was good and nice try for me , but season 2 is high level adaptation , so good
How can you be a wot book nerd and like this show?
I never expected it to be a line for line adaptation, because I knew it realistically couldn’t be
I'm mad at all these episodes nothing but bad stuff happened no good things to look forward too it's like we're watching them all die slowly couldn't even finish watching episode 3 today I'm so depressed 😢😢😢

I absolutely love you Kritter, but I just CANNOT watch this show anymore. I struggled through the 1st season, figuring the 2nd would be better... but they are just murdering the storyline and the characters. I find myself literally screaming at the screen say OMG NO! NO! It didn't happen that way.. why are they doing it there? How is this even plausibe.. Unfortunately this show has left such a disappointed bad taste in my mouth it quite literally stresses me out to watch it.

Two Jordan fans describe their love for WOT. One describes that story true to the plot, character, and locations because they love the books. The next person, Rafe Jenkins, tells the direct opposite plot events, the inverse of the characters, and changes the entire story. Which fan actually loves the books? Is KritterXD an actual fan of the books?

I imagine most of us on this channel are fans of the books. Myself? i think S2 feels like the world of wheel of time, i loved E3 in particular. However i can understand others wanting a closer adaptation that is fine. I am old, i remember LOTR coming out at the pictures. People were upset at the changes to LOTR too at the time.

@@tw7998 My self I dont like that they kill Saruman in two towers so he cant go to the Shire like he do in the books, but that is minor things compared to this tv show. And LOTR was movie format with 3h pr book not a tv show with 8h pr season. The wheel of time books and tv show is like Mercedes and Lada. They are both cars with an engine and 4 wheels but still far from the same...
@@TheEyewax It was the changes to Faramir that bugged me about LOTR at the time, it was a tiny thing looking back but i hated that he wasn't immediately strong willed enough to reject the ring. I also felt they down powered the gondorians but overall? it is a classic. As for WOT? so far i am enjoying the second season but do appreciate we all have different tastes
