I cried a few times. As a person who experienced abuse as a kid, seeing Mat realize he was always good and he's a hero of the horn, really hit me in the feels. I loved seeing Egwene saving herself. I know it's a departure from the books. She's so badass.
I'm torn on Egwene freeing herself because it's also awesome in the books when Nynaeve and Elayne save her and it kinda unfortunately left Nyn and El with nothing to do in the episode. I like the theme from the books that they all need each other and usually don't accomplish a whole lot on their own in the big picture and they hit that pretty good in this episode for the most part. Everyone had a fairly pivotal part to play but Elayne and Nynaeve are just kinda there. Elayne's little healing bit at the end is it. Still, my favorite episode of the series so far.
I'm damn near 40. When I first read Eye of The World, I didn't understand it. I prolly still don't. But one thing it showed me was freedom. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I got all teary-eyed, too, and didn't know why (I don't even like Matt), but that was it. Matt realized who he was outside of what people had been telling him. It was wonderful.
I fucking hated Mat for 2.5 books. And then he did the thing for Naynaeve, and Egwene, and Elayne (He don't even like her like that) and the rest of the world. I think even Joline Sedai fell in love with him.
Did I cry when you cried? 1000%. When Egwene had her braid cut, I was shattered. Then Matt realizing his place in history and who he is just made me ugly happy cry. I think making him this sulking, broken character for 2 seasons made this moment so much better. He became more than he ever should have been based on his upbringing. And Hopper...oh Hopper. Yet, I know he awaits in the Wolf Dream. Uno has a Hero of the Horn...YES!!!!! I also LOVE Egwene protecting Rand (as opposed to him saving her) is an amazing foreshadowing for Egwene's role going forward and why she will do the things she will do (not going to spoil this for anyone). Fantastic season finale.
That Hopper death scene will never not make me cry. Perrin insta-revenge though, love to see it. Mat, finally we get MAT!!!! The Mat everyone loves. The Gamblerrrrrrr, yes yes YES! Loved almost everything about that episode, especially the Moghedien reveal at the end... chefs kiss.

I loved this episode so much!!! I couldn't sit still, I was jumping around and punching the air through half of the episode. And even my grandpa (who doesn't understand english, and hasn't seen any episode) was glued to the screen watching the final battle
I've watched the full episode twice and 4 reaction videos today and i still teared up in all those same spots as you again... just some amazing moments...
Funny thing was that I didn't actually cry when Hopper got the axe, but when I watched you react the way you did - it struck me totally different way and got all teary. My favorite moment was 100% Mat with the heroes of the horn and the battlecry. Tears again :D Such a great end to a season that just got better all the way to the end.
Oh I loved your reactions because they were so similar to mine. Love the positivity ☺️ amazing episode, thanks for the reactions My favourite part was everyone coming together to help Rand with Ishy, we didn't get it like that in the books and this was so incredibly satisfying
Glad you saw the Liandrin foreshadow for Rand blowing away Turok. Some many of your peers with podcasts seem to have neglected this, still expecting to see a sword fight or being disappointed that they didn't. This makes way more sense than the book. Why take a risk when you can just channel a little Indiana Jones.
In books at this point he was still kinda instinctive channeler without training, but already with some sword training from Lan(but still rookie). In show he cant fight sword or channel - at least we didnt see him doing any training. I agree channeling makes more sense especially that Turok was with bodyguards.
Not gonna lie, I haven't been the biggest fan of what they've given us for Perrin & the Wolves. But OMG.... the way they filmed that scene with Hopper 😭 I bawled like a baby. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 🏞🐺🏞
Uno stood next to Brigitte wonder what that implies? I'd be very sad if that's the last we get of Fares Fares but I understand shifting the narrative toward the other forsaken and casting Laia Costa is perfect. I like the change of the horn giving Mat his memories (Aelfinn and Eelfinn might be to expensive). I loved the slight changes to the characters stories, Egwene and Perrin most obviously. I'm now very excited for where season 3 takes us.
In this version Uno is Gaidal Cain.... but i have a feeling this isn't the last time we are gonna see him. Aelfinn and Eelfinn might still appear though, especially since its a huge plotpoint in the books concerning 3 major characters (Mat, Thom and Morainne and they kinda hinted at the Moiranne and Thom romance coming eventually).
@@SamanthaAskew-dz6vf Now i do think in this retelling, while book readers now he probably is Gaidal Cain, for the sake of show watchers only, i feel like they will keep calling him Uno, else the show only watchers will get kinda confused.
It occurred to me today that "a lady from Cairhien" is Lanfear. I love that she was pulling strings to aid Rand and foil Ishy both here and with Bayle Domon. I bet she knew he would take the cuendillar and Dark Prophecy to Moiraine.
I cannot cope with Lorne Balfe's Mat Cauthon theme. Every time even a little bit comes on, my heart feels like it'll explode. So thst just made all things Heroes of the Horn even more emotional!
Your reaction to Mat blowing the Horn, was mine. My book heart was complete. I literally sobbed and open mouth cried/bawled/laughed like an idiot while my dad (who has not read the books yet) lightheartedly laughed at my reaction, and watched the battle in absolute awe
yes, I cried when we lost Hopper. I knew before I started the show tonight that I would cry at some point. Great show, I wish they had doubled the episodes though. 8 feels so short.
This season was so good at building up and delivering. This episode was so good. The fact that they managed to redeem Matt was the testament to their writing and to the new actors skill. Well done. Can't wait for the next season.
@@brianweekes1757 The world of the Wheel Of Time is very complicated and the one power is very OP (if you know from the books) so nothing seems far fetched to me, but it has to be structured and paced as a TV show. It's okay if you don't like it though. I suggest not engaging. You don't see me in the comments section of Grays Anatomy videos talking shit about it 😂
I do get your point but, you don't like Grays Anatomy, so it is different. I've been passionate about the Wheel of Time since the publishing of the Eye of the World when I was a lot younger. I went through all the waiting for each book, the drop-ins to the store to see if they had heard any news on the next book. For years. Like many fans I waited decades for a show to be produced and could not wait to see what parts of the books they used. And what parts did they use: Names and Locations. That is about it. Seeing the eventual show turn out to be televised vomit when I am heavily invested in the source material gives me every reason to voice my opinion. I do get that people don't like my opinion. That is fine. They don't have to read it. But I will voice it just the same and threats made against me, not by you, won't make me walk off and be silent. They spat in the faces of book readers and in my case every book reader I know is not watching. @@glowteehee6579
I think I cried like 4 different times! I'm so along for this ride and I cannot wait for S3. Totally gonna miss Fares Fares in this show, but with how well they've handled fleshing out the villains I am so so eager to see the rest of the Forsaken. Particularly Asmo and Graendal. Also, I saw someone comment that Laia Costa is playing Moghedien like Björk and I can't unsee it!
Now you've done it for me. So Bjork-like. The show has done the villains so much better than the books - great to see their backstories and motivations.
It just occurred to me, is there even a seal on the Dark One's prison? S1E8 did seem to imply that's what LTT was planning to do, but in this series it appears that each seal merely held one of the Forsaken, and now they're all apparently broken. The Dark One certainly can't be free yet, so I have to imagine that there are other seals we haven't been teased of yet.
If I remember correctly, the seal that was broken at the end of S1 was in the ground and the ones holding the fosaken in S2E8 were upright, so maybe different kinds of seals for the dark one and for the forsaken? 🤷♀
Absolutely cried with you. Hopper will always be the bestest boi. However, Mat's moment hit even harder for me. "Dovie'andi se tovya sagain!" I jumped out of my chair and yelled, "Matt "I"m no bloody lord" Cauthon! Third on my favorite list is actually Rand going full Indiana Jones and annihilating Turok and his guards without so much as a twitch. That says more about his power than a fight in the sky, imo.
Great reactions Kritter. Thanks for your hard work this season, really enjoyed your shows. Loved what they did so it's easy to forgive what they didn't fit in or things that didn't quite hit the mark. Such a step up from S01.
I was thinking to myself. How come Egwene could put the collar on her Renna? That whole scene I was like, "That's sort of an attack, it feels like she wouldn't be able to". And then even later she can channel her up and hurt her. I don't know if I'm on the right track, but it was on watching a reaction that I think it clicked to me that she's been taught like "a Damane cannot do this to a Sul'dam". or essentially "a dog cannot bite a human". Maybe at that moment when she fully believed Renna could channel she no longer saw her as a Sul'dam, but essentially, a Damane too. "a dog can bite a dog". And I guess that would be the worst part if this secret ever came out, because then any Damane would be unchained if it spread.
You're the first reaction I watched after the show. I have SO many things I want to say, but I need to take a step back and say that the finale was good episode if you don't think about the book. I did cry a few times.
I cannot wait until season 3. My husband is a non-reader and it is so fun hearing about all of his insight. I've read the series 20 times in the last 5 years because I'm a little obsessive and even though there are some changes I understand them and I'm so excited to see this story come to life. It was a wild ride this season and I would give it an 8 out of 10 in its entirety. Loved it. I also love your reactions!
@@KritterXD apparently it's going to be 18 months till S3 last I heard. I hope it's sooner. Maybe we get some good news next weekend as there's supposed to be a WoT announcement at the New York Comic Con. Most are guessing/hoping it's the S4 renewal. Wait and see.
I think she released the bond before going to the eye. Leaving Lan behind wouldn't make sense otherwise considering she thought she was going to die there.
My husband is also a non book reader. And he really enjoys the show. It's so fun to watch non book readers react to the show knowing what's going to happen when theu don't. This season finale was definitely bettee than last gotta say. But I really hope it's not 18 months for season 3 😢
Lanfear was stronger then her in books. And she did not use spider weaves. This is Rafe's hate letter to source material write large for the blue anon fan-enemies of Jordan.
Mat saying i remember, goosebumps!! And then his battlecry! perfection! And i'm glad they didnt have rand duel Turok, where he is in his training it would have made no sense at all, this was much better. The less said about Hopper the better, but it was perfectly done
Aww Kritter yeah I was pretty much crying the whole time too. I'm a book die hard like you though it's been many years, I watch a ton of other creators but legit you are my favorite because I have the same reactions as you. Glad I found your channel, people can be way too critical 👌😁😁
I UGLY cried for Hopper!! I saw it coming as soon as Valda went after Perrin. I was like OH NO!! I knew it was coming and I still cried like a baby! I loved this episode so much!! This whole season has been amazing!!
!!MINOR BOOK SPOILER BELOW!!! Something Nynave deals with in the books is her supposed cowardice, so I’m wondering if her not being able to channel this episode at the most critical moment is a setup to explore this insecurity in further seasons.
I was thinking something similar. That she might have been afraid to channel because the last time she couldn't control it and it resulted in Ryma being captured
Such great set up for Season Three. Also, the number of times Rand was shielded in this season -- I wonder if that will prompt him, Lan and Moiraine to make sword training a priority, and we get more Lan mentorship next season?
@@stewartkingsley yes but everyone do better then him I feel the writer not interested in rand character because even in season 1 he did not have much to do the girls have most of the episodes even in season one please correct me if I'm wrong
Your face when Renna cut her hair was my literal face when that happened. That and when Hopper died. I was like why are they making us look into his beautiful eyes D:
I teared up at Hopper.... so sad... Though, now Dain has a valid reason to hate Perrin... instead of lies and hearsay. I'm happy Mat is finally Mat. 💜 I'm a little annoyed Nynaeve did nothing... I feel like she should have healed Elayne at least.
Great reaction Kritter! Great finale! Not perfect, but great. I thought it was interesting that they portrayed both Egwene and Rand as going stone cold killer to get the job done. Rand did it to take out Turok and his guards so he could go save Egwene. Egwene did it to free herself and get revenge on Renna. It seemed like Rand had decided to embrace his ability to channel and go all in on that... unfortunately the plan backfired because Ishamael had Suroth and her suldom ready to shield him. Hopefully we will see him actively training with both the power and the sword early in season 3.
Guess they're making Mat a hero of the horn this time around. Funny how he used a dagger to make a magical doorway, though. 😉 I did feel that, once again, Rand didn't get much time to shine. It wasn't Cat Crosses the Courtyard, it felt more like Cat Sits on the Window Sill.
I loved this episode so much, yes it is different from the books but i was so emotionally involved, i cried at scenes (hopper), i pumped the air with a 'YES!' at scenes (mat)- i was totally engrossed. What an episode.
@@KritterXD the viewer engagement for the finale appears to be through the roof. Hopefully we can see 10 episodes a season from s4 onwards. I do think we could do with that.
Hi KritterXD! I recently discovered your channel and am really enjoying your content so far! I loved your reaction video to the finale! *** potential book spoilers below*** I imagine many people (myself included) are probably frustrated at Rand not being able to defend himself against the shields, and also at Nynaeve struggling to gain control over the power and channel when she wants/needs to. However, I have to wonder if the show is deliberately highlighting these glaring weaknesses right now for Rand and Nynaeve, to make their development and journeys more exciting/impactful in later seasons. They are basically the two most powerful channelers in the the world at the moment aside from the Forsaken and both have been extremely hyped up in the show for their abilities/potential, yet the inability to break through shields (Rand) and channel at will (Nynaeve) has rendered both of them completely impotent and helpless at the most desperate times during this finale. Book readers will know that they each overcome these weaknesses in dramatic fashion later in the story, and I think that the show is setting the stage now for building towards those triumphant moments. Even though I don't always agree with the show's deviations from the books in terms of character storylines, it seems that the show doesn't do anything by accident and there is always a plan even if we as viewers don't see it right away, so I'm thinking that the show is purposefully drawing our attention to these issues now in preparation for the amazing things that Rand and Nynaeve will do together later on.
This finale was soooo good! I was conflicted going in as I was excited to watch and sad to see the season end. I've enjoyed your reactions! I have so many thoughts for this episode! I loved Matt's scenes! He was so unsure of himself and then brought so low by the "visions" Ishy showed him that I cheered out low when he said "I remember" and looked so uplifted realizing he was actually a hero ❤ I like that Egwain freed herself. It was dark but after all she had gone through with horrible Renna I can't blame her. They also hadn't shown Nynaeve and Elayne figuring out a way to open the collars. Hopper 😢This does give a reason for the TR scenes to happen now, though I feel bad for Nynaeve not being able to channel/help this episode. I'm thinking that she's afraid to channel because the last time she did, Ryma got captured (I do wonder where Ryma is now). Can't wait to see Rand's powers increase in season 3, we've only seen glimpses so far and he needs a lot more training and control. I also want to see him breaking out of a shield. Loved the Morraine and Lan scene, and yes that looked like full bonding to me not just an unmasking of the bond which was interesting. The fire dragon was a dramatic declaration on top of the tower. I love that they were all there to help Rand when he needed it (even thought Matt accidentally stabbed him). He needs all the support he can get. Moghedien is scary and Lanfear is a very fascinating character Can't wait for season 3! In the meantime, I've going to rewatch S1 & S2 😄
Did we ever see that sad animal death? Face close, the life leavuing the eyes ...I mean, Hooper broke me. We always focus on human companion's grief but this was ugly crying for Hooper (who was a human, ok...do I get that right?). Egweine becoming ruthless from good school girl - powerful but again, actually sad development. Inevitable though. Solid finalle! Love your reactions! Rand is proclaimed, killed Ishamael, now it's time for him to start proactively (is that the adverb) doing things finally.
Tears, excitement, loved that they hit almost every point I was looking for! I do wish we'd had a little more backstory of the heroes of the horn, so that when they arrived that would have had more meaning and impact, but having Uno there was awesome! Looking forward to all the analysis and Season 3 news as we head into another period of longing.
I'm surprised you cut/didn't react to Moiraine's channeling. That was so damn beautiful. It's one of my favorite moments in the finale maybe even for the entire S2!
The biggest thing that is just glossed over in the show is that 'lady from Cairhien' that helped Loial and Ingtar get the horn... It took me 3 watches to realize that they were referring to Lanfear!
Holy wow did that wrap up the season. I shared the reaction with Renna being left on the peg. I wanted Renna to be left to be found and put into the Kennels. I knew it was coming, but Hopper. Awww. He finally gets to fly. I hope we see him in the Tel'aran'rhiod! So many great things they wove into the series that are not in the books, but work well. I really loved how Moiraine demonstrated the importance of being trained in the tower. Being able to handle so many weaves at once and with such intricacy and concentration. This sets the stage for why training and learning give them more power options. Incredibly happy with the last episode and now I'm sad to wait for the 2 years for season 3. WAAAA!
I’ve seen it 4 times now. I cried for Hopper every time. I cried for how hard Egwene is now (Remember Nynaeve stopped her in the books or she would have tortured Renna to death then too. I cried when Mat said I remember (who I really am). I cried with Moraine and Lan. I cried when Perrin and Mat found each other and when Perrin story in his letter came true. I laughed when Elayne just said Elayne. I laughed when Mat started swinging his weapon. I laughed when I saw Uno with two swords standing next to Brigitte”. When Renna cut that braid and stepped on it, a stream of cursing to make Uno proud. Also, I realized for the first time (and I feel stupid about this) that the White Cloaks are the North and the Seanchen the south in the American Civil War. And I am so happy Mogi is leveled up in power and courage. We waited for Mat and now we have to wait for Nynaeve.
I gotta say, I never liked the Barney Harris casting. Barney is a great actor but too old and world weary for Mat. Donal has nailed the cocky boy who loses all his confidence because of the dagger but loves his friends like a puppy!
I've only read up to end of book 3 just to stay ahead of the show but even I cried when Mat had his moment. Such a powerful thing for him to have his identity and goodness validated like that
It would diminish the impact of his death for him to come back so soon. Uno died early on in the season, so it makes sense to bring him back for the finale.
Egwene needs to stop whining that she’s not as powerful as Nyneave. She is such a BADASS! Not only is she made of steel, but she’s obviously stronger then the rest of the Aes Sedai. I mean she held her own against the most powerful Chosen- even more powerful than Lanfear! Siuan, who’s supposed to be the most powerful AS, didn’t last a second against Lanfear. It feels like they are going by the books and that maybe she has been forced to her potential already. Alanna said she was merely strong, stronger then most, but I doubt any of the others could have help up so long against Ishy. So so SO GOOD!
It was a gift but they told me they got it on Amazon. The stone fell out almost immediately but I ordered a bag full of cheap replacement stones and they’ve been doing just fine lol
Turak: "Fight me!" Rand: "Or. Or. Or. You and your posse can go F yourselves." Loved how this season ended! I am pretty sure I didn't blink for most of it.
I loved the finale and had exactly the same reactions you had!! Uno & the heroes! Mat & his ashandarei! Egwene freeing herself and fulfilling her promise to Renna. (Perhaps, if Nynaeve & Elayne had made it up there, Nynaeve might have held her back from exacting revenge like she did in the books, but who knows?) Despite the sadness of Hopper's death here, it was definitely better for the show to do it now, as opposed to how it was done in Book 1, because it makes Perrin's reaction much more real. And it will make the future even better and worse, imo. I even liked the choice of the flaming dragon, since they couldn't really do the whole metaphysical battle in the sky. I mean, the real banner was just basically a flag with an unknown animal on it. No one would have seen that and said, "Wow! The Dragon's been Reborn and he's here!" 🤷♀️ As an avid lover of the books, I recognized even before the premiere of Season 1 that telling this ginormous story in roughly 40 hrs of episodes would be absolutely impossible, so considering the adaptation as a different turning of the wheel was the way to go. Thank you, Kritter, for doing what you do! I love watching your reactions and thoughts and applaud your ability to let go of the negativity of the angry bookcloaks. I couldn't do it myself. The fixation they seem to have on not remembering the stories of the boys in the early books and being angry that they don't get the characters from the end baffles me. I mean, even Rand's epic battles in the first 2 books were almost accidental. He was terrified of the Power and the taint and couldn't control his channeling at all. Even after this battle at the end of Book 2, he was still not really sure he was the Dragon. Whatever. Obviously, this series was never going to satisfy book lovers who wanted to see the entirety of the book story on screen, so now they live to tear it apart, which is not for me. Your enthusiasm is exactly why I chose to support you on Patreon. ❤

I've watched the full episode twice and 4 reaction videos today and i still teared up in all those same spots as you again... just some amazing moments...
Big same here
Funny thing was that I didn't actually cry when Hopper got the axe, but when I watched you react the way you did - it struck me totally different way and got all teary. My favorite moment was 100% Mat with the heroes of the horn and the battlecry. Tears again :D Such a great end to a season that just got better all the way to the end.
Non book reader here...I really enjoy your reactions and your passion for the books and show. Thanks for all that you do!
Oh I loved your reactions because they were so similar to mine. Love the positivity ☺️ amazing episode, thanks for the reactions
My favourite part was everyone coming together to help Rand with Ishy, we didn't get it like that in the books and this was so incredibly satisfying
But why rand don't have much to do just one scene with sword why he is useless
@@samer.4660 he obliterated Turok before taking out Ishy. “Nothing to do” is an interesting way of putting it
It wasn't just an axe. It was THE axe as depicted on the cover of the dragon reborn.
Now I can’t even remember why he doesn’t channel against Turak in the books 😂
Yes, this made much more sense, especially with Egwene's life on the line.
@@Mrsangeandbellayes but he have one scene and it's cool but why I feel he don't do much in this fight
In books at this point he was still kinda instinctive channeler without training, but already with some sword training from Lan(but still rookie). In show he cant fight sword or channel - at least we didnt see him doing any training. I agree channeling makes more sense especially that Turok was with bodyguards.
@@toblakai5543 that will do
Can we just talk about the CINEMATOGRAPHY in this episode?
Because WOW WOW WOW
Not gonna lie, I haven't been the biggest fan of what they've given us for Perrin & the Wolves. But OMG.... the way they filmed that scene with Hopper 😭 I bawled like a baby. 😭😭😭😭😭😭
🏞🐺🏞
"dusty hands did he break another seal?" -Daaaaaamn you're quicker than me
Uno stood next to Brigitte wonder what that implies?
That’s exactly where my mind went! If Uno is Gaidal I won’t even be mad! I really LOVE that idea!!
@@SamanthaAskew-dz6vf Now i do think in this retelling, while book readers now he probably is Gaidal Cain, for the sake of show watchers only, i feel like they will keep calling him Uno, else the show only watchers will get kinda confused.
I ugly cried for a good half of the episode. What a finale!!
It occurred to me today that "a lady from Cairhien" is Lanfear. I love that she was pulling strings to aid Rand and foil Ishy both here and with Bayle Domon. I bet she knew he would take the cuendillar and Dark Prophecy to Moiraine.
Your reaction is priceless - I felt the joy and sorrow again. Thank you! ❤
💙💙💙
I cannot cope with Lorne Balfe's Mat Cauthon theme. Every time even a little bit comes on, my heart feels like it'll explode. So thst just made all things Heroes of the Horn even more emotional!
Been a fan of Lorne Balfe ever since I heard his scores for assassins creed 3, he never disapoints
Such an amazing underrated artist!!!!
11:30 10/10 reaction. We knew it was coming and the producers delivered.
RIP Hopper, you have completely conquer my heart. You are the best.
Nice touch that Perrin saw him being free with happy image of Hopper.
It really is a nice touch. I hope you'll forgive this teaser: Though you are right, there's more to it than that. 🙂
This season was so good at building up and delivering. This episode was so good. The fact that they managed to redeem Matt was the testament to their writing and to the new actors skill. Well done. Can't wait for the next season.
I definitely thought that we'd need to wait longer for the Mat redemption!
@@irisbear9421 Yes I agree
Are you kidding? Second season in a row where Loial pulls a magic stuck writers rabbit out of a hat. What a joke.
“He’s got shit hair but he’s alive”. Best line of the series 😅
😂😂😂
“Is it a sex thing, or a murder thing?” Still tops it 😂
I think I cried like 4 different times!
I just saw a tweet from Bain & Chiad that said that! So true!
Now you've done it for me. So Bjork-like. The show has done the villains so much better than the books - great to see their backstories and motivations.
Play Moghedien like Bjork.......I thought it was Bjork for a good minute 😂
I thought it was Bjork at first haha
Seeing Perrin go full John Wick berserk on Bornhald was PEAK satisfaction
I cried and then I cried again when you did! So damn good. SO excited for Season III
I don't know why I didn't think of it before but having Matt be a hero of the horn makes so much sense
Watching you was honestly like watching a mirror. I laughed, I cried, I swore. Loved it so much. Looking forward to Wheel and Chill!
Haha thank you! The stream has been scheduled! Don’t forget it’s starting a little earlier tomorrow 🥰
I was so worried but this met all my expectations. Loved it!
BOOM!!! Man that was fun!!!
Time to roll the dice! Am i right?
I need season 3 now!!! And what they did too uno chills
SO HAPPY
Same I can def forgive what happen earlier in the season tho I was expecting an 80s music video style battle in the sky lol

I've read the series 20 times in the last 5 years because I'm a little obsessive and even though there are some changes I understand them and I'm so excited to see this story come to life. I think she released the bond before going to the eye. Leaving Lan behind wouldn't make sense otherwise considering she thought she was going to die there.

After rewatching Egwene's scene with Renna, "Eyes Without Pity" indeed.

maybe it's just me seeing foreshadowing where there isn't, but the way Turak and his guards died...they've been killed and they die Knelt.
Rafe did an interview where he likened those two scenes so good catch!!
I hope so!!

Though, now Dain has a valid reason to hate Perrin... instead of lies and hearsay.
I'm happy Mat is finally Mat. 💜
I'm a little annoyed Nynaeve did nothing...
If Xena can catch an arrow without the warder bond I think Lan could pull it off, lol.
Not even Lan is a match to Xena, though 😂

Guess they're making Mat a hero of the horn this time around. Funny how he used a dagger to make a magical doorway, though. 😉
I did feel that, once again, Rand didn't get much time to shine. It wasn't Cat Crosses the Courtyard, it felt more like Cat Sits on the Window Sill.

*** potential book spoilers below***
I imagine many people (myself included) are probably frustrated at Rand not being able to defend himself against the shields, and also at Nynaeve struggling to gain control over the power and channel when she wants/needs to.
I think you’re SPOT ON with this theory!
Big fan of your reaction videos here!
We had the exact same reaction to Hopper. I'm still not over it. And i knew it was coming, too.
My least favorite part was when the credits started and I realized it'll probably be another 2 years before season 3 comes out😭😭
I know Salle Salée was listed as Novice #1 earlier in the season, but I'm trying to figure out if she was she also Birgitte in the finale.
Mat blowing the horn live on TV. My soul is happy.
This finale was soooo good! I was conflicted going in as I was excited to watch and sad to see the season end.
I've enjoyed your reactions!
I have so many thoughts for this episode!
I loved Matt's scenes! He was so unsure of himself and then brought so low by the "visions" Ishy showed him that I cheered out low when he said "I remember" and looked so uplifted realizing he was actually a hero ❤
I like that Egwain freed herself. It was dark but after all she had gone through with horrible Renna I can't blame her. They also hadn't shown Nynaeve and Elayne figuring out a way to open the collars.
Hopper 😢This does give a reason for the TR scenes to happen now, though
I feel bad for Nynaeve not being able to channel/help this episode.
Moghedien is scary and Lanfear is a very fascinating character
Can't wait for season 3!

I cried, I'm still shaking.. 10/10 for me
Tears, excitement, loved that they hit almost every point I was looking for!
I like your sincere emotions. Merry Christmas! Thank you so much for your commenting!
The biggest thing that is just glossed over in the show is that 'lady from Cairhien' that helped Loial and Ingtar get the horn... It took me 3 watches to realize that they were referring to Lanfear!
Do you think Lanfear will be in season 3? I love her character!🙏🏻😭🫶🏻
"I love Hopper" 😭
😭😭😭😭
Egwene is a Hero of the horn too! That's how she could fend off Ishy after the horn was blown
I've only read up to end of book 3 just to stay ahead of the show but even I cried when Mat had his moment. Such a powerful thing for him to have his identity and goodness validated like that
Why couldnt hopper be a hero of the horn too 🥺
It would diminish the impact of his death for him to come back so soon.
Where did you get your AES Sedai ring?x
It was a gift but they told me they got it on Amazon. The stone fell out almost immediately but I ordered a bag full of cheap replacement stones and they’ve been doing just fine lol
Turak: "Fight me!"
Rand: "Or. Or. Or. You and your posse can go F yourselves."
Loved how this season ended! I am pretty sure I didn't blink for most of it.
I loved the finale and had exactly the same reactions you had!! Uno & the heroes! Mat & his ashandarei! Egwene freeing herself and fulfilling her promise to Renna. (Perhaps, if Nynaeve & Elayne had made it up there, Nynaeve might have held her back from exacting revenge like she did in the books, but who knows?)
Despite the sadness of Hopper's death here, it was definitely better for the show to do it now, as opposed to how it was done in Book 1, because it makes Perrin's reaction much more real. And it will make the future even better and worse, imo.
I even liked the choice of the flaming dragon, since they couldn't really do the whole metaphysical battle in the sky. I mean, the real banner was just basically a flag with an unknown animal on it. No one would have seen that and said, "Wow! The Dragon's been Reborn and he's here!" 🤷♀️
As an avid lover of the books, I recognized even before the premiere of Season 1 that telling this ginormous story in roughly 40 hrs of episodes would be absolutely impossible, so considering the adaptation as a different turning of the wheel was the way to go.
I didn’t cry when Hopper died though it sucked, but I did when Mat realised he was a hero of the horn. His redemption was done well!
