the fact that nuthing much happened in terms of the usual schemes and intrigue can be forgiven becuz of how enjoyable it was just following Geralt, Ciri and Yenn around watching them play house, fighting off small skirmishes while reconnecting as characters - basic rpg stuff

One thing I particularly enjoyed about the big fight scene is that it was done mostly in long takes, so you could actually see what was going on. Interesting question about Fringilla and Cahir. I remember Fringilla, in her big scene with the generals in Season 2, saying that she would do anything not to go back to a cell, and (presumably) that's where she is, and for telling a lie that Cahir suggested to her. I imagine their brief alliance may be over.

Don't worry about Geralt's actor substitution. After the start (first 2 books as well as 2 seasons) Geralt is not the main character anymore. Ciri is. On top of that Ciri is a main character only technically. Cause in the books are lots of main characters and the focus of the story is fairly well divided among them. The show reflects that starting from this season. The only difference between books and the show at this point is that Yennefer's role is much much bigger on screen (in terms of the amount of screen time).
Don’t Think Of It As Henry “Stepping Down” Think Of It As The Show Running It’s Course, 3 Seasons Is More Than We Could Have Ever Asked For From This Show That’s Based On A Video Game. And It’s Been Good Quality, So Let’s Be Thankful For That
A way I'd replace Gerald, is with a fire on his face, then magic to restore his face, but the magic doesn't restore his original look, instead you get the face of the new actor.

It is never about the external part of the book - plot, how characters look like, what they think or do, etc. It is about the main ideas of the book. As a screen writer you have to change the events and characters, because cinema and literature are two different art forms, and it is the only way to show the main ideas of the book on screen.
THIS EPISODE DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE 1° yennefer giving Letter's to Geralt. guys looks like I'm back to school, when I was ten and me and the girl are very shy to communicate face to face. 2°geralt doesn't trust yennefer, but in the end he let Cerie and yennefer go away, but in the begging of the episode they don't even talk to each other. Witch is pretty weird consider what time they're living and what is that world. 3° elves actually believe and fall in ambush made by a dwarf 4° scenes of fight really bad without any carefully attention 5° 1 hour of episode, and you don't feel any connection about the characters or development. WHAT A SHAME.
I think there's more wholesome content in the first half of this episode than the rest of the show combined.

As a non book fan I am loving it so far. The fight scenes will forever be my favourite especially now that ciri has started to fight with her training

if they had any brains they would simply make a new witcher who isn't Geralt so there isn't a problem. Making a new guy "Geralt" is just dumb.
