- In this tutorial, I'm going to explain the differences between Eevee Next and Eevee in Blender 4.2, I've used two different scenes in this video, each with a distinct lighting setup.

I use eevee to render my 3D scenes and animations bacause Cycles is too heavy for me, with the right settings it is possible to get great rendering results with Eevee. Very happy to hear that Eevee is being improved.
Thanks for sharing
im pretty sure bloom is moved to the realtime compositor and requires compositor nodes to setup, could be wrong though, but that is my thought
thanks for the comment, yes, the only way to achieve bloom is through the compositor
Bloom has always been in the compositor as an option inside the "Glare node", It works similarly to the Bloom in Eevee Legacy but it has less customization.
I hope they add back the old Eevee bloom as a new node for the compositor in a future update.
I'll be using EEVEE Next door preview then I change to Cycles for delivery to the cloud render farm.
FYI, Its only been three days since you made this, but Blender 4.2 is now in Beta! 4.3 is now the alpha
Blender updates coming faster than EEVEE can render anything 🤣🤣
@@omnymisa lol did you find a bug? So far the 4.2-beta eevee is working for me rendering realitme, tinkering with its new Gi settings & other stuff all worked for me on some quick tests.
@@macronomicus I haven't find any bug, by the moment I try to avoid tests versions I may do it later when I make more progress as a User in the main time am enjoying the developer enthusiasm. But the question comes to my mind, do you see any scene where you want to be able to have the current version of EEVEE and that new one coming up?
@@omnymisa Now that its beta release they took out the old EEVEE so its just the one new one in there now, I dont miss the old one at all, the new one is so much faster. Now that its beta release features are locked & they just fix any bugs found, its almost done, beta releases tend to be fairly stable Ive found in the past.
IF YOU USE EEVEE-NEXT AND RAYTRACING YOU DO USE A PROBE VOLUME IN YOUR SCENE FOR HAVING A REALISTIC LIGHTNING AND SHADOWING, RAYTRACING ONLY ISN'T EFFICIENCY YOU DO ADDING A PROBE VOLUME AND BAKE IT PLEASE SHARE THE INFORMATION IN ALL EEVEE-NEXT VIDEO !
ok ok, chill friend....
WHY ARE WE SHOUTING!

Ohhhhhhh shiiiiiiiit!!!!!! 😂😂😂
what...
You too cool for basic capitalization?
Amazing Eevee got better with Next.
I won't render my small projects in Cycles, only Eevee Next soon
Try settings in the world tab small sun angle gives so nice crispy shadows, specially when you have some tree billboards behind the window, and with new volumes godrays looks just sick good through the blinds, but there are also downsides, in order to get metal to look like it should you need to bring up Max Roughness in Raycasting tab to the level of your metal roughness, and in some cases switching denoising off makes metal look like metal, because this new EEVEE denoising method kills metal reflections with overbluring.
I really, really hate the light bleed problem where the shadows are.
I don’t know how to fix it and it makes the engine overall bad.
Not to mention that the ray tracing is only screen spaced, so you loose the realistic effect if you just slightly tilt the camera away from the light source
Yes, you’re right, eevee next is currently in its alpha stage, when working with it, you need to enhance the final render using compositing.
At the moment Eevee next just freezes blender for me on my system, earlier versions have crashed my entire computer before so there is some progress, not sure if it is just my Amd graphics card or something else the Developers are not forthcoming with what is happening. I do like the idea of it but hope they keep eevee in next versions as well as I use that all the time.
That sounds a bit ominous. I remember having trouble with Blender when I was simply trying to switch from vertices to edge and faces. Thankfully, this was updated a while ago. I hope I have a better time when I try Eevee-Next!
Eevee next is currently in its alpha stage, so many problems may occur, to address your issues, start by updating your GPU drivers and checking your ram usage while using blender, high ram usage can cause blender to freeze. although I don’t have an amd gpu, many users do, and it typically doesn't pose major issues nowadays.
@@piraniarts yep it’s ram usage, suddenly Blender just eats up all my Ram and more and everything locks up. Odd that EEVEE Next is the cause though. The same file on EEVEE is perfectly fine. I know 16 gig of ram is now on the low end but for a render engine that is supposed to be less systems taxing there is something going wrong.
sorry, but you said "can'T harm your hardware" right? would be crazy if it could :D Thanks for the great walkthrough otherwise!
There is unreal with same quality but more possibility to render, why use evee LOL ?) I understand to use cycle, but not evee
because competition is good for the consumers......when one company takes over something. the user gets fucked.....needless to say that blender is also free and allows you the flexibility to write your own code and add features to it as you wish.....it's very flexible. which is why big companies are using it. Keonigsegg for example uses Blender (EEVEE) for the configurator that allows customer to customize their own CC850.
Unreal takes like 5 hrs to load 🔥🔥
I would use unreal if not for that, but unreal is also endlessly complex to learn compared to blender which isnt that big of a deal for me but may be for other people, those load times are just ass though. and thats just loading a blank scene??? not worth it to me
@@Priv_Not-None 5 hrs to load what ?)
@@aleksei7479 thats whats everyone else wants to know as well
I've worked a lot with unreal, and it's very powerful, however, as demonstrated in the video, you can achieve impressive results with eevee next, unlike eevee legacy, it's a significant improvement for a 400MB software, moreover, unreal is primarily a game engine and doesn't handle tasks like rigging, animation, sculpting, and modeling as well, unreal is also quite resource-intensive. I plan to upload a video comparing unreal and blender, which will show how unreal consumes more hardware. offline render engines like arnold, cycles, and keyshot are becoming obsolete as everything moves towards real-time rendering, the improvement in eevee is logical, finally, I'm a big fan of open-source software.
