Keep making your own lure. My first years of trapping I liked buying and trying all kinds and I finally got sick of spending money and decided to try making my own I feel like some of mine just as good
I use Night Owl Crossbones/ Hiawatha Valley or Night Owl Brush fire/ Hiawatha Valley and or Gusto / Hiawatha Valley. I also like Hoosier Top Dog Arctic. But I do like Night Owl Lures & Baits, they are a NY Based company!!!!
Picked up Hiawatha Valley and LIB after watching your videos and it worked like a champ!! I did catch three coyotes on the same culvert crossing using Dunlaps Soul Taker and Riot gland lure early in the season, and then the last week I caught two using nothing but Riot in a punch hole. I'm working on my list for next year as I watch your videos. Love to see a video on your strategy of how you bait based on set location and how loud the baits are. You touched on that earlier in the season but love to see in depth!!! Thanks again and good luck chasing the thunder chickens!!!
Good video this will help narrow down the selection and your right about you could easily spend 200 bucks on baits and lures. I will say what works in one area may not work somewhere else but if your down south coastal areas I would say any of those will work good
I had great luck with flemings bobcat bait and gusto for bobcats. Coyote fell to hiawatha valley and gusto. I noticed the fox around here loved the lighting in a bottle. Also on your deer try some of the big tine deer feed. It's got all kinds of ingredients for deer turkey and everything. Bear seam to like it also. But iv noticed a big difference in the deer around my property especially body size wise and some antler size. Great video!!!
Now that’s a tough decision having to choose between Gusto or Minnesota red. I had really good luck on trapper j’s lures and bait this year. Enjoyed it sir
Southern snare and supply One night stand lure Capital punishment bait Spiked mice bait Work very well for me down in South Georgia Your videos are great and i think I’m gonna try some of the baits and lures you run thanks
Here in north Arkansas and southern Missouri where I trap soul taker and gusto is a killer combo for Coyotes and bobcats. I normally use a little bobcat gland lure or coyote gland lure during breeding season. Top dog and rusty Johnson’s lucky works good too. I have a buddy that makes homemade bait out of beaver meat and it has worked well also. It’s crazy watching you catch all those coyote on Hiawatha valley because all I catch on it is possums. Keep them coming buddy this is definitely my favorite trapping channel.
I’ve noticed on some farms that I trap that there will be 1 particular bait that will catch the mess out of coyotes and the rest are hit or miss. I seen this on multiple farms and I feel like it has to do with whatever the coyotes are feeding on in that area and that the bait that does so well smells a lot like whatever their #1 prey or meals come from. I might be 100% wrong but it does get me scratching my head from time to time. Thanks for the comment and I’m glad you enjoy the channel!
I’m in southern WV. Soul Taker, Top Dog are my favorite baits. Also had good luck with Lightning in a Bottle and Hostile gland lures. I’m a big fan of pretty much anything from Dunlap. Predator magnet lure from Hoosier Trapper is another good one. Another bait I feel like that is under the radar is Final Step by Sawmill Creek, absolutely love that stuff.
Strong video! Try out Down South Trappers with their bait and lures. Really good. They have coyote urine pearls that is pretty much all I use now. Much cleaner to use and lasts a long time at the set after rains
I’ve had good success with Top Dog and Hiawatha Valley the last few seasons. Also caught some on Soul Taker. Really enjoyed the video and will definitely add LIB and Time of Death to my bag next season. You caught a pile on that combo this past season
I use Dunlap and Shetraps baits this year Hostile, Gusto, Mice baits sheep wool still use Predator Control Group Federales but I think it change doesn't seem to be the same formula. Of course Dunlap bought out the old owner Clint who was great at providing videos to buy to learn how to trap yotes.
Just subscribed! What's the diff between bait and lures? Very new to coyote trapping and put out my first trap just yesterday. Bing watching your videos to see how to do sets. I tried a Costco chicken for bait about 10 yards off their tracks which were in mud but no luck yet so need to use a better bait.
Good deal man!!! Now I have to figure out what to use as it’s starting to warm up down here in MS. Any input on this? Using your combos worked good for me this winter. Appreciate you man!!
I like the Hiawatha of the valley and soull taker for me make sure to tag me when you market your bait/ lure be sure to get me some.apreciate the video
I’ve used their widow maker before. Never had any luck with it. Actually ended up giving a full pint of that exact bait to a buddy of mine that loves it
@@CarolinaCoyote that’s damn good!! I might’ve got that many… trail cam piks🤣🤣 at least I got 3 reds in this first year of trapping thanks to your videos. What part of Carolina are you in? I’m in Southampton county Va
You set it if to the side, if it came from the same property you are trapping put some coyote urine on it but set it where if they try to pee on it they step on your trap
Best way I’ve seen it work is to take scat from one farm and put it at a different farm. The coyotes there will think it’s a new coyote running in their territory and will mark it as their own
@@CarolinaCoyote had something dig up my trap. Seeing dog prints. Didn’t set it off but, dug it up and flipped it over. How it didn’t go off, I don’t know
I bought 2 bottles of it and neither one of them smelled like they used to. They used to be an extremely strong skunky smelling lure and the ones that I bought weren’t as strong as I wanted. I switched to mainly using lightning in a bottle made by Dunlap lures
Dude, why won’t guys share information?? This ain’t a damn bass tournament. We all aren’t trapping the same land. Someone, like myself who’s struggling, wants all the help I can get and is only gonna take the information and try to catch some fur. It won’t be on the land you’re trapping so what is that deal???? That’s frustrating.
What more do you want him to say he just told you his best lures an baits , There is a ton of info out there on trapping on YT . Just type in what you want to know an I’m sure you will find out what you need to know … Goodluck Out There BeSafe …
You can catch a lot of fur with the baits and lures that I spoke about. Some of them I have been using since day 1. That’s how good they are. It took me 2 FULL seasons to finally start getting a good consistent catch rate with the lure I made. But it also took me 6 years of trapping to narrow down my bait and lure bag to what works and what didn’t work. So in a 15 minute video you got 6 years worth of trail and error that you don’t have to go through. I’m sorry that you’re upset about the lure. But I’ll let you know when it goes on the market. Tight chains

Awesome video. We use lot of that then by second week we're just throwing stuff down the hole cause couldn't remember what we had in it
I used to do the same. However, I’ve noticed to have more success by remaking the set the exact same way after a catch! Just food for thought!

Bait is food. Lure is attractant. Put the trap sets right under their nose not 10 yards away, if at all possible!
Do you fine tune your traps? Adjust the pan tension and height?
They’re checked every year to make sure they’re up to date with the laws so that they’re legal

Use soft baits. Nothing loud and skunky. Focus mainly on 100% mouse based bait. Time of Death would be perfect for summer
Awesome video..
Nice to see Michigan getting props.."Dunlaps" 😉👊👍
Keep the videos coming Bro take Care..🤠👍
You mind sharing your numbers for each animals you caught this season?
Had good luck with Dunlap hell fire
What trail cameras are you using. Thanks
TACTACAM Reveal X-Pro cell cameras
I use Down South Trappers Bait & Lures
Try hell fire it's great
On all my traps this is what I use
Hell fire
Soul taker
Trouble
And anathema bait from she traps there great
Really like your videos. What editing software do you use to make them? Thanks.
iMovie cause I’m broke lol
@@CarolinaCoyote welp. It looks good
Would you switch a red fox product for something else in an area that has no red fox? Just asking for a friend
Hmmmm, honestly I wouldn’t. It’d be a new scent to them and would make them curious. Just like the muskrat lure does!
@@CarolinaCoyote well I’ll tell him to keep doing what he’s doing

I hear you. But at the same time, I’ve had several that haven’t worked for me. But hey, that’s just my opinion!

Sorry to ask but what do you use in your dog proofs?
You going to the trapping convention this year?
Ever had much luck with any of Mark Junes bait? I’m still in the testing phase of baits and lures. Caught a red on raw chicken and bacon grease.
I’ve used their widow maker before. Never had any luck with it. Actually ended up giving a full pint of that exact bait to a buddy of mine that loves it
Where do you order from? Do you purchase directly from company?
Did you catch many bobcats?
So what was the final tally this season?
28 yotes!

Try Locklear's federals and cavens violaters 7
I’ve used violator 7. I had more luck with Lightning in a Bottle than I did with the Violator
So can i buy some of your lure? Try it for southeast ohio coyotes and let you know how it does.
Why not try a local trap maker ? Dobbins' Lures - made by Paul Dobbins of Goldsboro, NC 27530
Never heard of it! I’ll have to look into it!
