Never used any down south bait. I am a big fan of Apple Road Bait and Lure. I been to Mr Richards house. I picked up a gallon of the bobcat and a gallon horse meat base baits. Apple Road coyote and bobcat gland lures are good. When i went to the horse base bait. My catch went up! I use all of Dunlap lure and baits. Another good lure besides gusto. It is fox hollow gh11. Ground hog base lure with skunk. I caught 6 cats at one set. Had 1 get out. I was using gh11. And Cavens bait in with it. I use alot of Cavens lures and 1 of there bait. My bag has 35+ lures in the bag. And around 10 baits. Just started using predator control group stuff. I am still trapping coyotes in Arkansas. Trapping a hunting club. I carry several different brands of coyote and bobcat gland lures. A few red and gray fox gland lures.
Sometimes just using something different is enough to get a response. The ones who are still around after previous seasons remember the scents from the past and need something new to get their interest.
I like to give them something different at every set and I like to try new stuff every year but it's hard to get away from the proven stuff year after year.
