Great video, when people make these videos and literally give you their recipe then you know they are FOR THE TRAPPER, not against them…thanks for sharing Alan!
That is our whole premise…Education! Thanks for recognizing that! 🐾
That's awesome. I make my own bait but I'll be buying a gallon of Mt Man just because you did this. With trapping almost becoming a dinosaur, fur prices that are at all time lows, it's nice to see someone sharing so others can learn.
Do you actually use a Gallon?! How many traps are you running? I run a quarter mile with 8 traps and I only go through a quart of food based.
@@-10ranch I run up to 60 traps for 3 months, and I do control work all year
@@davetoms63 well that would get you through a gallon. So are you a state trapper/ is trapping your job, or do you work a day job as well. I work an 8-5 M-F and am on call half the time. That plus trapping is very time consuming. I only trap the four month season we have here.
@@-10ranch I trap for some local ranchers and I retired in Nov 2022
@@davetoms63 Awesome! I started last year and the ranchers around me noticed such improvements that they want me to trap their places as well, but I would have to quit my day job to do it. Do you think I could actually make it a Viable business trapping ranches based upon what you are doing? I am in Oklahoma.
Thanks for teaching
I’m a very new and novice trapper. What I have noticed, and have appreciated the most, is that experienced trappers are so willing to share their knowledge. Maybe that’s a factor of low fur prices (i.e. low competition) but in any case, it’s a breath of fresh air. I appreciate the post and will be buying your MM bait because of it. Thanks!
That was very cool and honest of you to show everyone how you make your bait! Loved the video! Good luck with everything my friend!
Thank you for the transparency Alan, This shows that you are truly in it to see each and everyone to have success. Certainly will try to make some bait and catch a critter on it. Maybe on a smaller scale. LOL Thanks again Have a BLESSED day and keep SHARING the PASSION
☝🏻 Truth
Thank you for showing us how bait making is done. I learned a lot from watching this. I have always wandered what all goes into this. I appreciate it.
Thank you
I’d love to see you mix up the territorial lure/bait in that small room! 😂😂 great video, thanks Alan
I just started trapping this year. All of your videos are great and have helped me be successful....taken many nest raiders "out of the equation"!! The part of trapping I like the most is the feeling of success after all the prep that goes into it. Maybe I will give bait making a try next season but for now I will support all you guys that make it and buy it!! Tight chains
Just bought some bait and new Duke 650 pros. Still using the old # 2 Victors only catching nest robbers figured it’s time to step it up. Appreciate the video and all your knowledge. Have a blessed day.
Thanks for sharing this and all you do helping trapping.
Thanks for sharing with everyone! Very nice of you guys.
Alan your a classic my friend thanks for years of trapping and video knowledge....
Man, it’s task seemed impossible before this video. I plan on trying this for next season without a doubt, saving this content! Thank you!
3:36 Seems like it attracts mt lion too.
Appreciate you showing this for those of us who are trying to learn, starting out as new trappers, I'll be buying some Mt Man to give it a try! I think the majority of bait is similar and some are probably over complicated but it helps to see this just to give an idea of what it takes to make a bait, even if I end up trying my own recopies.
We appreciate your support! 🐾
Thanks for sharing I really appreciate it. I'm making my own for next season. Also with a layered meat based products.
Awesome stuff and thanks for sharing.

Awesome video but I have to ask did someone fart @ 5:28? 😂
LOL. I think it was the Cat purr’in. I can promise you that no one shit themselves during the filming process! 😂
👍
I'd really like to know what kind of grinder your using to grind the prairie dogs ..... i'd like to grind red squirrel carcasses in the same manner .... thanks for this video, it's a great tutorial.
I saw Trapper J use an electric wood chipper on muskrats, looks like it worked great
Lem
New to trapping, how long would this bait be “good” for ?
Thanks for what u do for trapping
How many gallons does that make
I was fixing to ask the same question. How many gal of finished bait is in that black tub.
Most times about 3 gallon!
Either I missed the amount of liquid smoke you add or it wasn't mentioned Alan, looks like less than a quart but more than a pint. What say you? Great videos all of them, the Johnny Thorpe stuff is priceless!
20-24oz.
@@NorthAmericanTrapperTV this Pa Boy thanks you!
Where do you get your asfodita from...there are alot of dealers that sell it some smell different then others...an curious to the poultry powder where did u get thay from....I just got some of this an I like the smell

Truth ☝🏻
You just made me a customer. I'll buy it instead of making it. Thanks for sharing.
@@coyote2437 Aprreciate the support. 🐾
Does anyone refigerate your baits after they are cured ?
What kind of salt do you use?
How much would you sell a gallon of the Mountain Man for?
Gallon of MTMN is $120
do you keep your bucket of meat in the fridg?
Where do u get the geound poultry from
Where do u get ur poultry powder at
👍🏻
Ground Angus $5 a pound.
What size is the jar you sale?
Pint ~ 16oz.
Fresh store bought meat to catch an animal that in most cases probably doesn't really need to be caught, anyway. There's got to a cheaper source of meat. This sounds INCREDIBLY dumb to me. What a waste.
"in most cases probably" that's longhand for "I'm ignorant".
Should we use roadkill or should we stay with our motto of “Only Top-Shelf ingredients” ???? We cannot expect success by cutting corners and you get out of Life what you put into it!
