Turd Ferguson here.......CHECKIN IIIIIINNNN!!!We got the Rogue Monster Lite RML390. Love it, but not the most fun to assemble with one person. This video is gonna help many people who are building home gyms with a power rack.
I ordered and assembled same rack, after install there was slight side to side movement. Installed rear stabilizer and now it is completely solid. Highly recommend rear stabilizer
I got flat black. Wanted something that didn’t show many scratches. I thought the flat would be best for that. I am very pleased with my rack. I also got strap safeties but still trying to figure those out. But overall pleased
I bought a pr5000 and built it myself. How I did it was I assembled 1 side on the ground and got that in the perfect place. It held upright fine. I then added the pull up bar and the opposite crossmember and assembled the rest upright. This let me get the rack in the right place and have a safe setup. The 5000 is just too heavy to deal with otherwise.
@@NoFate247I initially did blue uprights and metallic black crossmembers but every single one of my black crossmembers arrived with the paint cracked or chipping so I had them resend me blue crossmembers which arrived with way less cosmetic damage. I would avoid the black metallic at all costs it’s like a plastic coating and not a powder coat.
Finally showed us that beauty! I've been looking at Rep but also another CO company that has a rack similar to GGH's. Ready to upgrade to something serious for the home gym!
@@NoFate247 my gym colour scheme is black red & grey so exactly this combo. I have an iron edge (Aussie brand) rack in black with red j cups and accessories that I’m waiting to set up myself.
Step one to building any piece of home gym equipment is to buy a nice high torque cordless drill and some socket attachments. Just sold an old leg press machine to make room for a new one and the guy who came to disassemble/haul it showed up with a crescent wrench and a socket set like it was fucking 1920. Seriously... the attachments to use sockets with a cordless drill are like $5. Well worth the investment.
I love that you wore a hardhat to finish installation! I'm planning to order this EXACT configuration except Metallic Black crossmembers but couldn't add it to the cart because you have to choose a safety item and they don't have Safety Strap or Spotter Arms in stock and I'm not sure I want the Flip-downs! Will using the affiliate link help you with an existing REP customer?
@@NoFate247 I used your affiliate link to order the same configuration as yours except Metallic Black crossmembers. Didn't order any safeties or stabilizers because the only thing in stock is the Flip-Down Safeties and I definitely want straps or spotter arms!
Great video! I was curious if you ran into any difficulty getting the nut fully up the bolt through hand tightening when attaching the uprights with the cross members? Should I expect to get the nut fully up the bolt through hand tightening prior to using the hardware to tighten everything?
No, you won't be able to get the nut fully up the bolt. You'll get a few turns and it'll get hard. That's enough to finish the entire assemply before tightening it all down with tools though. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
Did you have any issues with getting the rack perfectly square? I kept all bolts loose until the very end and the bottom of the posts are about a half inch closer to each other than the top of the posts. I did not purchase the rear bottom stabilizer.
Had the same issue after assembling mine. Ordered the rear bar stabilizer to fix it. I could just make the posts straight and retighten but RBS should help since it will add the stability from the bottom.
On the current PR-4000 uprights, are the holes 2" spacing throughout the sides? Is that something new? I see your uprights have a wider spacing around the middle along the sides.
@@NoFate247 Thanks for the quick response. Since Rep did an improvement on the 4000 uprights, I'll do a rack build to see the price difference between the 4000 and 5000. Been reading a lot and 5/8" attachments are slightly cheaper so might just go with the 4000 rack. Btw, you have one of the coolest channel. Glad I stumble across. Your channel will explode soon!!!!
That thing is a beaute!! How tall is it with the pull up bar attachment?? P.S. I had a half rack and I’ve never bolted it to the floor either. Didn’t feel like it and didn’t want to try it lol
