getting ready to use this highly recommended video. I like your answer here . . . speaking as a beginner I'm GLAD you use this approach. Nothing worse than ASSUMING your audience "knows what you mean."
I'm new to Dremels, but this thing has been great. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfPgcZ5_Cl0HDUKkMJAKde11YKQZVgMoR The variable speed is awesome and the cordless aspect makes it so easy to work with. I am constantly finding uses for it that make tasks easier. Recently I put in a new deadbolt on one of our doors. I knew I had to enlarge the hold where the deadbolt goes into the door frame. At first I thought I would have to get a big router and figure out how to use it for that, but then I rermembered we have the dremel. I was able to enlarge the hole almost as easy as if I was drawing with a pen. It's also great for grinding our dog's nails done and so many other household tasks.
After almost 2 years of putting off using the rotary attachment because I didn't know how to make it work, this video helped me finally get it working. Still have some engraving settings to tweak. Thanks for making this available!!
This was so helpful. I don’t have a rotary tool yet but this took all of my trepidation out of the fear and trembling box and I’m confident that I can do it now. Great job Alex.
Helpful video just like all of your videos. Your channel has helped me out big time at getting the hang of learning the fiber laser. Your settings at least put me in the right corner of the spectrum and are not far off from my machine. I’m glad you are open about all your settings and are very helpful. Most ppl don’t want to share settings or give help for free they act like they have the fiber process patented like it’s a huge secret lol. But what you are doing is very generous and helpful for people starting out. You are really helping build the laser community and I wish you the best of luck with your channel. Thanks!
I have been so intimidated by the rotary, but with this video and lightburn, I was able to get up and running almost immediately and engraved a bolt-action pen for someone for Christmas! It isn't nearly as hard as I expected.
Hello videos have been great help. I have ran into an issue under rotarymark when I hit Light it will light but can never back out of it have to end task in task manager. If I hit mark the red laser outlines and rotary moves but not marking
Great advice on the hatch direction. I imagine the split size will really depend on the curvature of the object and the depth of focus of the installed lens.
Great point! Definitely can go down the rabbit hole on "what's best" for each specific situation. Definitely wanted to keep things simple for people just getting started but I'm really excited to explore the nuances of all this on the channel down the road!!
Thank you SO MUCH for making this video! I got the same rotary and have been procrastinating setting it up. Going to watch the video tonight and set it up tomorrow!
You don't happen to be in So Cal are you? I'd pay you to come down and train some of my employees. I absolutly love how you are so thourough in your explanation because despite being a craftsman of many trades and tooling, in my retirement now I own a jewelry shop and purchased a really expensive unit only to find out just what a big learning curve it is to do basic engravings little lone the things I want to do beyond just jewelry (I also want to do knives and gun parts) and find your videos amazing. This rotary setup is fantastic, I don't suppose you have one on engraving rings do you? Settings in EZCad2, etc? If not, maybe in your next video but thank you and please keep the videos coming in!
Rings are on my short list for early 2022, just got my ring rotary in. I'm in upstate NY so that's a bit of a drive lol but may be offering like consultation and coaching calls next year. Recorded sessions or something idk yet. We'll see. In the meantime have your employees join the discord and just keep an eye on the channel. Request episodes as needed and consider joining the Laser Master Academy masters.lasereverything.net
Thank you so much for the video it will definitely help me a lot you explain it good but sort so you don’t get bored and fall asleep greatly appreciate your work
Great vid, I sure would like to find an all enclosed all in one stepper driver like that, very cool. One comment though, the head on my fiber laser is only secured by 4 bolts up where the horizontal arm meets the column. if you loosen those you can move the head forewords and backwards, so that you can get the center line of the laser lined up with the center line of the rotary. Sure seems like an easier way to center things? No more messing about in the software with offset lines and such. Correct me if I am thinking about it incorrectly though!
Great video, it helped me a lot in putting the right value To rotate the motor by table and switches with the correct value thanks a lot Mohamed from Egypt
Soooooo fkn. Cooooool! This stuff is so high tech & you do a really great job of explaining it where a simple man, like myself can understand it. I have absolutely no business with a laser of any sort……. But it’s soooooooo coooool, I’m just fascinated & in love with it! So I ordered one!!! A Chinese 50w / JPT - Fiber laser w rotary & Ezcad2. It just shipped today, so not sure when I’ll actually get it. However, when I have it in hand, I’d love to retain you to video conferences & get some LIVE help. Your videos are AWESOME & I’ll DEFINITELY be leaning on them a lot! But I KNOW it’s easier to stay out of trouble than to get out of trouble!!! I want to do it RIGHT & avoid as many mistakes as possible!!! Cheers!
Dear friend I’m watching your blog for longe times I’m really learn from you i wild like to thanks you for all information and all hard work . If you can tell me witch machine its good for birds rings, and witch sources it’s perfect for birds rings .
Hi, we love your videos. When following along we noticed we don't have any of the add ons for the laser dropdown tab. There's only three selections in there but nothing for rotary. We have ezcad 3. Can you help us out on what to do? Please
Ezcad 3 doesn't have the same plugin support ezcad 2 does. What you need to do is head into F3 Param, find the Extension Axis section and activate the A axis, the mark/light area of the screen at the bottom will then have the rotary settings you're looking for.
hello.. thanks for the video and it was very helpful to me.. but when i try to engrave graphics the rotary does not rotate... i can only engrave text.. can you help me out .please
You're likely trying to engrave a raster image, which ezcad does not support in rotary mode. It must first be converted into a vector. Check out our episode "Art Prep for Engravers" for instructions on how to do so!
Hellooo Thanks for a hundredth time ! This Video taught me a lot, to have my rotary running ! I have issues with Split lines, as in after engraving every section, theres a distortion line in between as it engraves, please how do i get rid of them ? Could it be because my part diameter isn't Accurate ? Thanks
I'd need a model number or something.... check out our discord or facebook group for more in depth support and we'll see if we can help. Links in the description.
Amazing video, just have 2 problems. My y value stays at zero when I open the rotarymark setting and I am unable to change it to the value of the text I am trying to engrave. Also when I press the light button in rotarymark all the the other buttons go gray and I am unable to exit out of the rotarymark mark setting.
Having trouble visualizing your first issue Mick. If you can get a screencap or some screen shots of what's going on to either the facebook group or discord server so someone can take a look that'd be helpful. Never light in rotarymark it doesn't work very well. If you do again by accident you can use the ESC key on your keyboard to get out. I always light my project in 2D non-rotary mode before proceeding to get a general idea of how the graphic is going to fall.
Unnecessary and in this context does nothing. Just ignore it if you're following along with the video. RotaryMark handles split allocation fine on its own. Force all split has implications if you're trying to let ezcad decide where to make splits, which I don't recommended. Static small split sizes is 100% the way to go.
I’m so late to this video. But better late then never. Just got a 30 watt fiber laser and wanted to know if this machine with the power controller box is all I need I don’t have the controller inside the laser. But someone was telling me I need a stepper driver and the rotary is this essentially the same thing?
The current table should be on the controller next to the pulse rev table. I don't usually recommend adjusting sw1, 2 and 3 unless you suspect you are having some kind of overdrive/underdrive power issue.
I'd say no, the giant metal chucks put way too much pressure on glass to hold them and end up shattering the glass. Check out a roller rotary or something like the new PiBurn Grip if you want a chuck.
Just to add to the guide because it wasn't talked about. At 9:20 mark the mug wasn't fully seated against the chuck and will vary the engraving quality greatly because the level/distance will change as it rotates.
Run lens corrections as seen in this video: ua-cam.com/video/llflAf0G62Q/v-deo.html If you're still having trouble make sure you're offsetting for kerf by offsetting your cut paths: ua-cam.com/video/OGZZI_m3PQc/v-deo.html The kerf video linked is for CO2 lasers but the same thinking applies.
Oh My god..You'r Amazing..Share Everything Very Very Detail..Thank You So Much...I Hope You Healthy Always Bro..Oh ya can I Ask Something? What Different Laser Tumbler With Rotary Mark And Split Mart 2 ? Split Mark 2 For What? THANK YOU..
Thanks, glad you liked it! Split Mark plugins you are telling the laser where to split up the image for rotation based on lines you place on the graphic, Rotary mark you tell the laser where to split up the image based on how many steps the rotary takes between marks. That's the only real difference.
Recently got a fiber laser at work and trying to learn to use this thing. We got the rotary axis included, but the tool/plugin doesn't show up on ezcad
@@LaserEverything thanks I'll look into that. Most of my work is on waterjets using omax layout, and some cutting and engraving with a 150w CO2 laser using corel draw. So ezcad is still pretty foreign to me, but I'm learning.
Hi!! great video! i have an issue, the rotary works fine but the size of my image is engraved mmm "squeezed" the size of the vector is not respected, for example if i draw a 2cm circle and sent to engrave i obtain a big oval, do yo know why is happening any clue will helpful. Regards from MX!
Sounds like an issue with your pulse rev (pulses per round) did you check to make sure the dip switches on the controller match your pulse per round setting in ezcad?
Hi Alex! Thanks a lot, that was a great help! But I am facing a strange issue: the red-lighting seems to stay active when marking.. is that related to any setting that I have missed?
It would be great if you could do a video on wrap around graphics using a rotary.. my workspace is 175mm x 175mm but the graphic I am trying to engrave is 250mm x 60mm.. not having any luck.
Hi, I hope you can help me. When i use rotary text mark, the engraving comes up diagonal, when I click to see the light it looks correct, but the engraving diagonal. What can be the issue?
We can't really get into it in the UA-cam comments as it's not the best place for more intensive support threads but we do have a few options where you can get help. Either check out Discord Server or Facebook group - links in the description - or you can check out our new forum over at www.lasereverything.net/forum and I'm sure we can get you pointed in the right direction.
I see all types of videos for great content but I don't see a video on how to set up a fiber mopa so that will do colors. Am I missing it or should that be on your list soon?
Hey your videos are very cool since i'm folliwing this i've learned alot. So i just purchased a laser engraver and i'm learning how to use is since i have no prior experience with this. I have a question how do i determine the price to give my customers? I really have an issue with pricing. Thank you hoping to have an answer soon
I bought a fiber machine about 3 years ago, and recently the rotor has started misbehaving. the beginning of the engraving is all cramped up and engraved on top of eachother and not at all spaced out, but towards the end of the engraving the rotor starts spacing things out properly again. The people I bought the machine from have been super unhelpful and I dont know whether it is something misconfigured in the software, or if my rotor is dying.
Could be the stepper motor. Shouldn't have to buy a whole new rotary, stepper motors are super cheap may just want to replace it. Probably a nema 17 or 23, you can pick them up here: lightobject.com/?ref=ih3f7UHr
Hi, sir, I have a problem with the engraving machine, when I run the machine with a rectangular box design in blocks engraved on a tumbler in black and the result is not blocks but dashed lines. can you give me a solution? thank you
This video is immensely helpful. My Rotary head is working great with text but for some reason it will not work when I upload a logo or bitmap file. Do you know how I could fix that?
New fiber laser user , followed all instructions have my sizing dialed in click “Mark” all it does is outline where it would laser and doesn’t actually mark the tubing. If you have a solution to that it would be VERY helpful , thank you in and advance and for the video
Triple check focus then check these things: 1. RotaryMark isn't compatible with raster images, that means no photos or pixel grids. It must be a vector. 2. Check your hatch. Make sure your hatch is running parallel to the direction your rotary is pointing. If it's going against the grain it may not mark.
Your videos are so educative. For a complet newbie like me this video on the rotary tool was just a game changer, i had been having a problem with my rotary but after watching the video and following the steps everything just fonctions perfectly. Guys like and susbcribe to this channel. Definately a game changer
Hi Alex great video! I followed it today but then my laser kind of lost its mojo in the RotaryMark section. It was working fine, in focus and would laser in the main EZCAD interface but when I started going into the RotaryMark superstructure interface it rotated the chuck etc but it wasn’t marking, any ideas as it’s driving me crazy! Cheers for any help! Bobby
I’m a total newbie to lasers and rotaries. I cannot get this one figured out to save my life. Where can I get more info? I’m using a 5W UV laser, roller rotary and EZCad. Where is the discord?
There's a link to the discord in the video description. I'd recommend joining either that or the facebook group so we can see your specific setup and we'll be a lot more helpufl that way.
Thank you for the video, I just pulled the rotary axis out of the box and did not know anything on how to set it up. My package did not come with a materials library for the speed/power/KHz canned settings , is this a file that can be shared? I would appreciate a head start on speeds and feeds for the Galvo (20w) I have an old beat up tumbler I am using for the test, I finally managed OK looking engraving. After a few botched attempts and a quick shot of matte balck over the tests I was able to run several tests on an otherwise junk piece. Maybe a hint for others, use a junk black tumbler, spray over tests to re use same piece for more testing, I know an erase pass (hatched rectangle fast and hot) would make the final engraving better but this is a test piece for me and mot worth the time and smoke in the shop.
Hey man, glad the video helped you! You can actually get instant access to my entire fiber laser and co2 laser libraries (updated MONTLY) by supporting the channel/podcast/community on our patreon page. You can check it out at www.patreon.com/lasereverything :)
i, I have the same concern as you. I am working on a galvo laser marking project. i want to put the galvo head in a CNC machine 5 axis (X, Y, Z, A, B) differ from the X, Y axis of the galvo. I manage to mark using the B rotary axis. But I still cannot manage for CNC A and XYZ axis. I am considering buying a DLC2 M4 3D card to have more possibilities. If you happen to have found a solution for your case, it may help me solve my problem.
Your setup sounds really nice, if you're not already a member you should definitely join our free discord server. There's a link in the description. I'd love to see pictures of how you have things set up!
Hello Alex, first of all thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. I have installed a rotary to a BJJCZ FBL1-B-LV4 board with ezcad? I've been trying for a few days but I don't give. I have pin 14 to Dir and pin 15 to Pu, tb 5v 24 and the motor connected to COM4. But I can't get it to move me. Might you help me? Thanks in advance.
Hey Daniel, this is a pretty technically advanced question. I think you're going to have much better luck asking it on the Discord along with screen shots of your ezcad parameters and settings so we can take a look. Join up if you havent and post as much as you can there so we can effectively diagnose this. Thanks! discord.gg/5JQaja8j
Getting good results. thanks Alex. Can I ask, when doing a round design it comes out elongated on a cylinder. How do you get past this, do you stretch out the design prior to engraving ?
You can but if you're seeing a LOT of skewing it could be a sign your pulses per revolution aren't set correctly. Stretching can visually fix the issue a bit but your line distance and splits won't be accurate in that case. Best double check the dip switches on your controller and see if they match what's programmed in ezcad. We cover it in this video.
I don't believe there's any way to do that currently in LightBurn or Ezcad without saving two project files and running one first, then opening the new project and running the second one after.
Great video! Please can you make a tutorial of ring engraving with rotary tool, gold and silver, maybe how to engrave draws not only letters, i am trying to do it perfectly
Thanks for this helpful video Alex. I have followed all you steps and have my rotary working now. I do still have a problem with my center line. I had to move my center line about 20mm down to get it centered with the rotary. And that is where I focused, however when EZCAD marked, it used the Galvos Y axis center and not what I used as my center and engraved 20mm higher than my center and because of that it was slightly out of focus. I can not get my job centered under the center of the galvos Y axis or find a setting to offset the center line to where my center line needs to be. Any thoughts?
Draw a line across the y axis and light it with the red light pointer. Then affix your rotary where you can and move the line to be center with the rotary. Once that's done you can import whatever artwork and center it with the line, thus aligning it to the rotary.
@@LaserEverything same issue here. so once the rotary is lined up with the machine center, you then draw a line in rotarymark and move the line to center with the rotary? and then center the image using that center line in rotary mark? or can i trouble you to make a 5 minute video? LOL
Excellent video. If I want to engrave for example a fingerprint inside a ring I would have to use rotary Mark? I have engraved text inside and outside rings but vectors so far I don't know how to do it. I hope you can help me.
Yes rotary mark with the ring at a 15 - 20 degree angle so that the laser can actually hit the inside of the ring. Split size should be some multiple of your line distance. Triple check your focus before you begin since it will be at a slant.
@@LaserEverything I guide the focus point using the two laser dots next to the lens. Is this OK? Or should I measure the distance from the ring to the lens with a ruler?
I don't always necessarily trust the dots. The fixtures that hold them in place can loosen over time and who knows if they came from the factory accurate. I recommend going to watch the fiber laser setup video where we go through how to measure your focal distance accurately and create a focal stick. At the end of the day nothing beats a physical stick you can jam in there and be absolutely sure that it's going to work.
You're going to have a hard time not "cross hatching" these tumblers without going VERY VERY slowly (doing an 90* hatch instead of a 0* hatch) and even then, I don't think it would look much different. You can try larger split sizes but then you'll have issues with over lapping split lines and that brings up it's own issues.
Really helpful video and great channel, congratulations. I am following your advice but I have that message on my screen: Axis must be Homed, Would you like to continue? Once accepted I got another message: Correct axis zero time out! Any advice would be appreciated as I cannot use the machine until sorting this out. Thank you!
Hi Alex Trying to get my rotary to work. Watched this video multiple times. When I hit Mark, the cup turns about 1/8 but then the rotary just makes this tick, tick, ticking sound. When I exit out of EZCAD I get the error message for the rotary that says 'Invalid device handle'. Any suggestions?
Alex...I am having a issue that my design lasers out great but when i put it into rotary mark it laser out lines in wrong place and the design seem to not be the same size as design. I have went back through all settings and it all is as you have suggested. Can you shed some light on this? Thank you Rick
Great video but I keep getting an issue where the laser just jumps to somewhere out of line. I have followed all your steps and played with some setting but it just keeps jumping off the path.
So I went and used the rotary to but for some reason it change the configuration of the working area in EZCad. The white page when from a nice even square not to a thin log rectangle. Any suggestions on how to go back to my large work area
When in the RotaryMark setup the workspace configuration changes. It will not affect your main workspace outside of the RotaryMark plugin unless you click the "Refresh" button which you should NEVER click. Doing so alters your main workspace. To fix it you have to go into your system paramters (the screwdriver and wrench icon at the top) and click Workspace and redefine it to what it should be. It is briefly covered in the fiber laser set up video which you can find here: ua-cam.com/video/FZT9zOp9Sl8/v-deo.html
I followed the instructions to a tee but I’m getting some weird artifacts in the design- stars look a bit misshapen. Not sure if it’s the split size or perhaps the tumbler isn’t perfectly circular. I measured the diameter of the tumbler where the engraving would be but it’s possible it’s off by a fraction of a mm if the tumbler is warped
Yes, you just need a rotary that will hold the ring on the outside and then you place the rotary at a 45° angle or so to the beam coming in then you can rotate the ring. Some copies of ezcad even have a ring rotary mark plug in installed that you can use to make the process easy. I have some rings now I'll upload a video on this soon.
@@LaserEverything Thank you so much for responding so quickly!! That’s great to know, will be looking forward to your session on this. Again, thank you!!
I don't know what to do. I have the same rotary and programmed it exactly like you did and it just printed a quarter inch worth of vertical lines. I'm stumped lol
Is your rotary oriented the right direction? Sounds like it might not be. Try either switching your rotation axis or physically rotating the rotary 90 degrees.
I'd measure the circumference and then draw a line or very thin box along the right axis that's exactly the length of the circumference. Go into rotarymark like we do in the video, set a split size and then run it. It should go completely around the bottle. If it doesn't make it or over laps either you're circumference is wrong or you're out of focus or the bottle isn't level or it isn't flat against the rotary tool or a combination of all of those things. Everything has to be just right.
That worked! Thank you so much for your time and help, im still playing around with the split sizes but i think ive about got that down. Your videos are very informative and have been the best in explaining the settings and machine functions. Translating the instruction manual from chinenglish is another skill to master.
I am having such a hard time with my rotary. Iced confirmed the pulse rev but my images are extremely compressed. I've tried the same rotary on another laser with the same issue. I'm wondering if my gear ratio isn't 1? Any way to confirm this? Any other tips would be appreciated!
Make absolutely sure you're reading your pulse rev chart correctly. The ONLY way your gear ratio isn't one is if your motor turns gears and belts instead of turning the chuck directly, which I highly doubt (though if you're using a roller rotary you'd be correct and that's a different story). Otherwise something somewhere else is being miscalculated. This sounds like an issue for the fb group or discord.
@LaserEverything So @16:00 So are you saying the pulse per 360 circumference dip switches have to be changed everytime we work with different items? My rotary is all setup right now for laser engraving rings and using Lighthburn, I just need to measure the diameter of the ring. Is this not the same with a thermos and if not, why?

Great vid, I sure would like to find an all enclosed all in one stepper driver like that, very cool. One comment though, the head on my fiber laser is only secured by 4 bolts up where the horizontal arm meets the column. if you loosen those you can move the head forewords and backwards, so that you can get the center line of the laser lined up with the center line of the rotary. Sure seems like an easier way to center things? No more messing about in the software with offset lines and such. Correct me if I am thinking about it incorrectly though!
Wow I never noticed that, good eye! I will try to implement that soon!
My arm/head came out of the crate centered to fit in the shipping box, so step one was to slide it back otherwise the head was off the table.
Great video, it helped me a lot in putting the right value
To rotate the motor by table and switches with the correct value

Glad it helped Mohamed!
30 or 50w Mactron JPT would do great, there's links in the description.
Hello. Greate video, but I have problems with switches, everything is lockd in machine. What now? Regards,

you have answered. Thanks.

Really really cool. It will help a lot.
U rocks. Hope one day i’ll meet u😊
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video. I still refer back to it when doing rotary as a reference. Great work!
Cool, thanks! Glad it helped you!
Nice explaination.. can i have your library for setting power, Hertz ? Thx

hello.. thanks for the video and it was very helpful to me.. but when i try to engrave graphics the rotary does not rotate... i can only engrave text.. can you help me out .please
Thanks
Great video! I followed all steps and got the rotary to work for text but it will not work for any bitmap file or image. Any ideas as to why?
Great video. Im running into a problem where the box you said to not worry about is on all of my new projects, how do i get rid of it?
I have a 6 switches internal controller... 1-5 off and 6 on I cant find a chart for it. Do you have any reference material on it? Thanks
I'd need a model number or something.... check out our discord or facebook group for more in depth support and we'll see if we can help. Links in the description.
Super helpful video. Once again you have helped me out.. thank you soooooo much..
You are so welcome!
At video 6:44 use the arrows keys mean "up" and "down" keys to center the line to the rod? Or did you use the "left" and "right" keys? Thanks
It depends on the orientation of your tumbler and the rotary tool, so it will change depending on the project.
At 12:55 - did you download a bunch of parameter library settings from somewhere? You have a lot. My EZCAD had only a single entry: "DEFAULT".
Yes those are from our LMA supporter library. You can find them over at masters.lasereverything.net/
Yay! Was having issues setting up a rotary. Nice Guide!
Sweeeeeet! Hope its working now!
I noticed that by the end of the video you had "force all by split" enabled. Could you explain this setting and whether its necessary? Thanks!
The external box should include a driver in the chassis
thankyou and I have one question is that where do we use a current table from sw1 sw2 and sw3?
The current table should be on the controller next to the pulse rev table. I don't usually recommend adjusting sw1, 2 and 3 unless you suspect you are having some kind of overdrive/underdrive power issue.
Hello Alex, Can we engrave Champagne Glass with this Rotary ?? Thank you man
I'd say no, the giant metal chucks put way too much pressure on glass to hold them and end up shattering the glass. Check out a roller rotary or something like the new PiBurn Grip if you want a chuck.
Thanks Alex, very helpful. Keep up the good work.
Just to add to the guide because it wasn't talked about. At 9:20 mark the mug wasn't fully seated against the chuck and will vary the engraving quality greatly because the level/distance will change as it rotates.
Good eye!
@@LaserEverything Receiving my machine today, already went through 7 of your videos to see beginner guides. Lots of help. Thanks. ^_^
I was about to say same thing. Couldn't see anything else lol. Great vid man. Looking to add one of these to my machine shop

Need help.
When i mark or cut anything its little bit smaller than original size.
Please tell me what should i do?
Run lens corrections as seen in this video: ua-cam.com/video/llflAf0G62Q/v-deo.html
If you're still having trouble make sure you're offsetting for kerf by offsetting your cut paths: ua-cam.com/video/OGZZI_m3PQc/v-deo.html
The kerf video linked is for CO2 lasers but the same thinking applies.
thank you had to use rotate text mark on mine but works perfect thank you for the help
Try the community edition of ezcad, can download it from our website www.lasereverything.net/downloads
Just depends on how your controller is wired up. If it's not hurting anything I'd leave it be.
please i need guide to connect my 3w uv laser to lightburn

Glad you like them, thanks for stopping by!
It would be great if you could do a video on wrap around graphics using a rotary.. my workspace is 175mm x 175mm but the graphic I am trying to engrave is 250mm x 60mm.. not having any luck.
I'll add it to the list Dennis!
Hi, I hope you can help me. When i use rotary text mark, the engraving comes up diagonal, when I click to see the light it looks correct, but the engraving diagonal. What can be the issue?

Hey your videos are very cool since i'm folliwing this i've learned alot. So i just purchased a laser engraver and i'm learning how to use is since i have no prior experience with this. I have a question how do i determine the price to give my customers? I really have an issue with pricing. Thank you hoping to have an answer soon
I'll try to do a video on this topic soon for you.
@@LaserEverything thank you
I bought a fiber machine about 3 years ago, and recently the rotor has started misbehaving. the beginning of the engraving is all cramped up and engraved on top of eachother and not at all spaced out, but towards the end of the engraving the rotor starts spacing things out properly again.
Hi, sir, I have a problem with the engraving machine, when I run the machine with a rectangular box design in blocks engraved on a tumbler in black and the result is not blocks but dashed lines. can you give me a solution? thank you
Post some photos to the discord or facebook group so we can assess.
Okay
Ola Pedro, compramos uma maquina fiber, e é preciso aquele controlador que esta no link do video americano,??? tenho os 2 modelos de rotary .
Something like the DM542 should work well: amzn.to/3YwSyPh
What should be the power, speed and frequency settings on the fiber laser marking machine according to the material applied?
This video is immensely helpful. My Rotary head is working great with text but for some reason it will not work when I upload a logo or bitmap file.
Do you know how I could fix that?
Rasters aren't supported in Ezcad 2 RotaryMark
Are vectors supported in EzCad2 rotary mark?
Yes absolutely
New fiber laser user , followed all instructions have my sizing dialed in click “Mark” all it does is outline where it would laser and doesn’t actually mark the tubing. If you have a solution to that it would be VERY helpful , thank you in and advance and for the video
Triple check focus then check these things:
1. RotaryMark isn't compatible with raster images, that means no photos or pixel grids. It must be a vector.
2. Check your hatch. Make sure your hatch is running parallel to the direction your rotary is pointing. If it's going against the grain it may not mark.
Is there anyway to connect a rotary attachment to a 20W fiber laser?
Your videos are so educative. For a complet newbie like me this video on the rotary tool was just a game changer, i had been having a problem with my rotary but after watching the video and following the steps everything just fonctions perfectly. Guys like and susbcribe to this channel. Definately a game changer
Great to hear! Thanks for watching!
Maybe a hint for others, use a junk black tumbler, spray over tests to re use same piece for more testing, I know an erase pass (hatched rectangle fast and hot) would make the final engraving better but this is a test piece for me and mot worth the time and smoke in the shop.

i, I have the same concern as you.

@@LaserEverything Thank you very much I just sent a message from Discord
Hello Alex, first of all thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. I have installed a rotary to a BJJCZ FBL1-B-LV4 board with ezcad? I've been trying for a few days but I don't give. I have pin 14 to Dir and pin 15 to Pu, tb 5v 24 and the motor connected to COM4. But I can't get it to move me. Might you help me? Thanks in advance.

I think you're going to have much better luck asking it on the Discord along with screen shots of your ezcad parameters and settings so we can take a look. Join up if you havent and post as much as you can there so we can effectively diagnose this. Thanks!

I dont have "rotary mark" under the laser tab in ezcad 3. Any idea's?
Head into your F3 param and enable Axis A under extension axis to get a similar window with similar settings down by your mark and light button.
how do I go about getting it black is there a setting for that or I need to use a spray ?
Very helpful for me. Can you please tell me what W machine are you using in this project?
This was done with our 30w JPT LP Mactron Fiber :)
Can you change the split size in between passes on the object? Like, if you want it to be faster to reduce the time on the device the second pass?
I don't believe there's any way to do that currently in LightBurn or Ezcad without saving two project files and running one first, then opening the new project and running the second one after.
Great video! Please can you make a tutorial of ring engraving with rotary tool, gold and silver, maybe how to engrave draws not only letters, i am trying to do it perfectly
Yes of course there will be lots more rotary videos coming down the road.
I would love to see this too please
Hi! I watch all of the video a couple of time but I still can not make my rotor to work. Could you please help me???
Hi! If you need additional support please follow the links in our bio to Discord or the Facebook group!
Hello?
At the end of the day nothing beats a physical stick you can jam in there and be absolutely sure that it's going to work.
how do you get the vertical spaces or lines out of the imprint
You're going to have a hard time not "cross hatching" these tumblers without going VERY VERY slowly (doing an 90* hatch instead of a 0* hatch) and even then, I don't think it would look much different. You can try larger split sizes but then you'll have issues with over lapping split lines and that brings up it's own issues.
Really helpful video and great channel, congratulations. I am following your advice but I have that message on my screen:
Axis must be Homed, Would you like to continue?
Once accepted I got another message:
Correct axis zero time out!

Amazing content... Thank you for your dedication it helped us a lot. I'm eager for more rotary content in the future 🤩👏👏
You keep watching and I'll keep making them!
Great video but I keep getting an issue where the laser just jumps to somewhere out of line. I have followed all your steps and played with some setting but it just keeps jumping off the path.
Have you tried making sure "mark contour" and "follow edge once" are disabled? Rotary is not compatible with outlining
So in my laser setting I only have rotary marking rotary marking 2 and sight mark2 do you know how I can are rotarymark or am I sol. Thank you!!

Sounds good!
RotaryMark can be used for both : logos and text files ?
Yep, works with anything vector based, just no raster images.
hello, can you help me? I am looking for ezcad3 tutorials in Italian language but I can't find any, can you help me?
I can hardly find any in English let alone Italian :/ wouldn't know where to even start looking.
We can't really get into it in the UA-cam comments as it's not the best place for more intensive support threads but we do have a few options where you can get help. Great video!! Thank you for sharing all that you do. Is it possible to engrave the interior of a ring using the rotary?
Yes, you just need a rotary that will hold the ring on the outside and then you place the rotary at a 45° angle or so to the beam coming in then you can rotate the ring. Some copies of ezcad even have a ring rotary mark plug in installed that you can use to make the process easy. I have some rings now I'll upload a video on this soon.
@@LaserEverything Thank you so much for responding so quickly!! That’s great to know, will be looking forward to your session on this. Again, thank you!!
@@celbur unclick the invert when doing the inner side of objects
I don't know what to do. I have the same rotary and programmed it exactly like you did and it just printed a quarter inch worth of vertical lines. I'm stumped lol
Is your rotary oriented the right direction? Sounds like it might not be. Try either switching your rotation axis or physically rotating the rotary 90 degrees.
How on earth do you tell the rotary and laser to mark a simple line around the circumference?
I'd measure the circumference and then draw a line or very thin box along the right axis that's exactly the length of the circumference. Go into rotarymark like we do in the video, set a split size and then run it. It should go completely around the bottle. If it doesn't make it or over laps either you're circumference is wrong or you're out of focus or the bottle isn't level or it isn't flat against the rotary tool or a combination of all of those things. Everything has to be just right.
Thank you very much for the help! I Will try this first thing this morning.
Happy to help
That worked! Thank you so much for your time and help, im still playing around with the split sizes but i think ive about got that down. Your videos are very informative and have been the best in explaining the settings and machine functions. Translating the instruction manual from chinenglish is another skill to master.
Yeah haha. Glad you're getting value out of the videos. Hope to see you on Discord!
If my image comes out grainy where you can see the lines do i need to change the step per rotation settings and switches?
do you recommend fiber laser thats desktop set up or one thats more portable?
The style featured in my videos is definitely the kind I recommend. The foldy-uppy ones are cute but usually pretty severely underpowered.
