Great video, very informative. My first thought when I saw the title was: huh.. I haven't cleaned my laser engraver in a while, will have to watch this 😂
As an owner of a pulse laser and a cw laser. One piece of advice I will share is, don’t believe what you see on the internet. These machines are demonstrated by manufacturers as total magic. These are in no way point and shoot, every substrate you work on takes it’s own little set of settings to get right, in some cases as you clean things like paint, making many setting adjustments may have to happen for a completely clean surface
In your video, you mention that you would share your settings. My buddy and I just recently purchase the sfx 2000 machine. Would you be kind in sharing your settings? Any help will would be greatly appreciated.
for sure SFX has a great unit for this SFX Portable 300-500 Watt Pulsed NEW VERSION tinyurl.com/pulsedcleaner and if your serious, you can use my code LASER911200 for $200.00 off :) it will get the job done!
I purchased a 300 w pulse laser from SFX 8 months ago. Excellent machine and company service. In watching your video you said the machine is a class 4. From my research I believe that is incorrect.I believe it is a class 1 because of the way the laser light is housed. The techs at SFX also say it is a class 1. That being said there are still safety precautions that must be followed but they are not as extensive as class 4. Also since I also have a machine from the same company is a list of parameter setting that work well for you available for purchase. I have developed a list of my own but would be interested in seeing yours.
Thanks for leaving a comment. Unless your 300watt Pulsed is housed in and completely enclosed environment, with laser shields or viewing glass meaning " a sealed cabinet, you do NOT have a class 1 laser. What you have is a 100% is a class 4 laser Laser cleaners, whether continuous wave (CW) or pulsed, are generally classified as Class 4 lasers, according to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards for laser safety. See here: ✅Key Characteristics of Class 4 Lasers: ✅High Power: Class 4 lasers are capable of delivering high output power, which is necessary for applications like material ablation and cleaning. CW lasers typically have high average power. Pulsed lasers deliver high peak power in short bursts, which is especially effective for material removal with minimal thermal damage. ✅Hazards: Class 4 lasers pose significant safety risks, including: Eye and skin injury from direct, reflected, or scattered beams. Fire hazards due to the energy density. Applications: They are used in industrial processes such as laser cutting, welding, and cleaning. ✅Why Laser Cleaners Are Class 4: The cleaning process relies on the laser's ability to ablate or vaporize contaminants without damaging the underlying substrate. Achieving this precision and efficiency typically requires a laser powerful enough to meet Class 4 criteria. ✅Safety Precautions: Operating Class 4 lasers requires strict adherence to safety protocols, including protective eyewear, controlled environments, and beam containment measures, to prevent injury and accidental exposure. There is a huge difference between a class 1 and and a class 4 laser. It has nothing to do with how the laser source is housed in the cabinet and electronic but where the LASER EMITTER "meaning the galvo, and final exit point of the beam are located, and also how many watts the beam is, and how destructive it is.
I wonder how a laser would do in cleaning boat hulls? seaweed and barnacle growth are a problem. Would the fiberglass hull be damaged? or aluminum? thanks!!
Never heard of a laser cleaner and now want one. I can only imagine how quick the "safe and affordable" laser cleaners start popping up on Temu and Amazon. Any suggestions on reliable brands?
yeah amazing tech for sure. I listed my personal recommendation in the description of the video you can look at all the models. There are few links there. I like working with SFX laser when it comes to cleaners. Thanks for popping by!
They can work continuously for decent amount of time a few hours, but since they are air cooled the outside temp plays a big role in how long they can continuously run, so on Hot days its necessary to keep the machine cool or it will overheat. If outside keep it under a tent out of direct sun, and even help to have a additional fan blowing on the machine.
Mike you sold me on the SFX 300 watt. How do I get access to your library? By the way thank you for this video it helped a lot. If I use this outside in the public how far do people have to stay away when it’s in use or does it have to be confined?
Awesome Im working on getting it available for SFX customers that purchase via my affiliate links as a bonus! did you purchase it using my discount code? or by direct through SFX? hit me up at michael@laserengraving911.com
Hello my friend i just watcing your perfect video. You are amazing. I want to buy laser egraving machine to egrave acrylic. Which desktop machine do you this is better to egrave without lines inside the egraving? price until 2-3.000k. Thank you!

diferent topic but I have a Bisofice (weinlux) 3w laser engraver and I want to make a jig for engraving metal business cards that i designed. how would I go about making a jig. do you suggest buying one, if so which one? have you ever had experience with a low wattage laser engraver like that?
@@LaserEngraving911 youre a life saver thats genius. thank you this is gonna help so much. Any way we'll see a video with a small laser engraver like that one I have. I have the k6 mini 3000mw I got it for a steal (68$ open box from ebay) but now im realizing how nice it would've been to just spring for a higher output and more advanced laser engraver. Im still gonna use it and now so much more because of that tape idea thank you for sharing that!
Great vid! Looking into the SFX 200W pulsed laser. Price is reasonable and they have a support center somewhere upstate in NY. What are your thoughts on?
@it would have to be delicate cleaning, like car parts, restoration of monuments, wood, bricks from paint. Maybe pharmaceuticals or even into technology sector.
I want to purchase a pulse laser cleaning machine to help with my furniture restoration. It would be to remove paint and varnish. Ideally I would like a machine that has a varied watt, 100w/200w/300w/500w and if possible up to 100w to accommodate rust cleaning from metal too, as well as multiple patterns. I have seen them advertised, but when I try to get further info it always comes back with a single mode. Do they exist?
I'm not sure why machines can't do both pulsed and continuous, thereby giving you a "laser to rule them all". After all, it's just using different parameters
As stated above in my comment....There is an "All-in-One" Laser machine that has both a Pulse and Continuous Wave laser, It's called a Composite Laser.
Laser cleaning is a big word.. You should do the difference between Continuous laser clenaners and Pulsed laser cleaners, Thats really different, and actually all what you see on Youtyube is overpowered continuous lasers. Where pulsed laser cleaners are more precise and respectufull of the substrat. and more expensive too.
Great video, very informative.
My first thought when I saw the title was: huh.. I haven't cleaned my laser engraver in a while, will have to watch this 😂

Good Advice!
Is there any danger using these units to clean around where there may be other fumes, like maybe gas fumes?
@ yes 100% take precaution to avoid that situation
Yes sir, we had to play with our 300w pulse laser cleaner but we ended up being able to strip white paint, which was thought to be not possible
Extremely well presented and explained.
Thank you sir, appreciate that!

Never will be cheaper of 4000 USD for a Pulsed Laser cleaner. More is powerfull more they need to be big wit ha bigger air cooling system.
Lots of great information! Production point, way too much camera zooming in and out. LOL
