10 years later I gotta say I pushed my 2.0 201km/hr. Took me 5 days of white knuckling the wheel to finally get there! At first I assumed it was governed at 180km like some of my other vehicles but due to gearing it took quite a bit to get up to 200 (30 seconds at least from 175-200) I went 201 on the dash just Incase there was a mid calculation I could still say my car hit 200! That being said after 10 years of owning her a failed relationship and a car page I gave up for the same reasons this is the year. I’m fully rebuilding my car. Air ride, any tiny peices of electronics (actuators ect) that don’t work will be replaced, dent free panels sitting in the garage for spring. I’m hoping I get the build far enough that I’m only worried about the 12v vr6 swap. I’m hoping I can do it all in one year but I’m never selling my Jetta. I just want it done so I can finish my 92si hatch shortly after. I’ve got a built b16a sitting in it right now but gotta redo front floors, rear quarters and rockers before fully getting it done. Started with paint for now so it doesn’t look like trash sitting in my over filled driveway. My car list consists of 11 cars I have 8 more to go. Hence why I really need to finish 2 this year/next. Then it’s interga, prelude before the rest
Yours only hit ~134mph? I have a 2002 with the 4 speed auto and i just did 143mph a few nights ago and it felt like it still had more in it, didnt reach limiter, not tuned, bone stock, 143mph is 230kph i think, i have faith the car can hit 150 without reaching its speed governor
@@jessegirard3111 did USDM cars get a higher speed limiter? My 2002 MK4 VR6 can do 140 no problem with no signs of running out of steam, havent gone fast enough to see what the limiter is yet
@@suhy9861 yea each country has different speeds which they are electronically limited. My 12v vr6 and gti 1.8T Awp shut off at 217km/h but once i tuned the golf and removed the electronic limiter it hit 250

Mk4 stock can go 160 stock but it will cause some damage to the oxygen system, I want to know how to be able to go pass 160? Any guidelines?
Never heard of this about a car the purpose built for the autobond
@@reallife4598 same lol
It won't damage your oxygen system you're misinformed. They're literally built for high speeds

Damn yours hit 143? I can get about 125 in my 00 jetta Vr6 with the 5speed, and I’m flat out 😩😢
They don't have a governor in the vr6
@@Bolbyyanders you're definitely not reving out the gears far enough
@@Bolbyyandersim scared of pushing mine far limits bro
@@realeyes4734 I waited till like 6800 to shift, the needle was right below 7 before I shifted, I’m using ALL of the gears🤣
how many gear did you have ?
Uh it's a 5 speed. Every manual 12v vr6 comes with a 5speed.
That’s not stock bra no way my vr don’t even hit 140 stock
Daton Ware 136 mph that sounds about right brain fart
Why'd you delete the Honda Fit 0-60 video?
ExactlyPrecisely Trying to clean up my channel. I'll post another one since it got a tune up recently as well.
Ah, okay. I'll be looking forward to that ;)
My 12v golf will go 240. Maybe they have better aerodynamics?
The stock MK4 Jetta is limited to 135mph (217km/h). My chipped MK4 Jetta, VR6 (12v), 5-speed will hit 160mph (260km/h).
You still alive?
My 2 point slow (2.0) went 125mph... I was prettt happy with that 😮
Thats literally the same exact max speed as the car in the video. 125 mph = 201 kph
That was kmh
Do it again with less than a quarter tank of gas.. itll be better
They shut down at about 217km/h it's limited in the ecu. It would push around 225-230 essy
