FYI, the 1 3/4 hp. Sawstop will run on 220/240. All you need to do call Sawstop parts and purchase the 220/240 connection box. Mine was below $90 .

Thanks for an awesome video! I have a Unisaw (left-tilt, 220v) - a great machine, but the design hasn’t changed much in 60 years. Today I will order the same saw featured in the video - been thinking about doing so for 5 years. A friend of a friend lost 3 fingers in a table saw accident a few months ago. He is in his 60’s (like me) and has worked as a cabinet maker for most of his professional life (way more experience than me). He’d never had a significant accident before. Conclusion: it can happen to me and it’s just dumb to buy a SawStop after you’ve had an accident.

Thanks for a great vid. I just came here to see where the heck they hid the instructions, and you cleared that up. I stayed to the end because this is good stuff.

Well you answered my question in the first minute. Only got two boxes and I’m missing the extension and the fence...guess I’m headed back to the store.

This was great to help me visualize what is involved in getting one of these. I am focused on the SawStop because it seems like the ultimate combination of quality and safety. The stop feature seems like insurance you hope you never need but if you do you will be so thankful you got it. Your explanation on the mobile bases helped me a lot to understand the difference. Plus I noticed some of the addons are dependent on one base or the other. I just subscribed and will definitely check out the festool videos (also high on my list). Thank you.

Awesome! I am glad you enjoyed my video, I am in the process of building out my new shop so there will be more to come. Is there anything that you would like to see me build?

My shop is starting in a two-car garage (of which 0% is used for Cars). I am interested in space-saving ideas, workflow in small areas, and hands-on reviews of tools you are using. I am also faced with trying to decide which tools should you go all-in on (like SawStop) and which tools are less critical so that you can look at some budget/space based decisions. Thanks for replying. Keep up the great videos.

@@scotthamilton7161 I started the same way. The challenge of using your space is fun and before no time you will be very proud of how its coming out. If you're looking for another good tool recommendation get a Festool Rotex and MIDA dust collector; its a game changer! In terms of organization, I am going to be posting some videos coming up about just that. Thanks for watching and for the comment. Good luck one your shop!

Saw Stop Tech support from Oregon corp office told me the best way to put the wings on was to put the fence rails on first , He told me that this is also an advantage to get the saw into the ICS mobile base for the pcs. Plus it give hand holds to get off the pallet.

Thanks for making this vid. That is the exact saw I want to get. My shop has 220 but I think it has the wrong outlet for what this saw takes. So I've got to get that fixed. I want to go with this saw mainly because of the safety feature. I'm pretty much by myself now and if I slice all the finger off help is a long way away. The saw looks very solid and well put together.

You can either change the outlet in your wall, or the plug from the machine. If your thinking about getting one, you should join the fb sawstop users group: there is a ton of information on there to help you make an informed decision.

Its really solid and the best tool I have bought for my shop. The quality of the manual and saw is unmatched by any other new tool I have ever bought. Enjoy!

Hey man thanks for this vid. I just ordered my own sawstop. same one as yours. You asked for comments as to why we (I) are buying this saw. reason one. ease of assembly. I will be referencing your vid when i get mine. Reason two. The reviews; all the reviewers say the saw is perfectly aligned out of the box. other brands seem to need lots of adjusting to get them working right. Reason 3. The safety feature. I`m pretty sure I`ll never need it but it sure is nice to have. Are you happy with your sawstop so far?

Thanks for the video. Very helpful. How do you use the extra extension table? I am assuming you purchased the 52” rail system. Thanks.

I just found that Lee Valley failed to deliver the extension wing for me too. Argh. Unfortunately they wrap it in black plastic when the courier delivers is so there is no way to see what they delivered and what they didn’t. Sure must be a common problem. Ugh so close to finishing too.

It’s hard then something like that happens. They didn’t give me the extension table for mine.

I just bought this same model last week. Haven't set it up yet and it's driving me nuts, and I just found out I have to travel to Phoenix for work for the next six weeks. Ugh!

Me, I'm unsure why anyone would purchase a tablesaw from anyone but SawStop. Who else give ya 'Finger Insurance' like that.
