    To install the extension, clamp a 2"x4" on each side and under your existing cast iron table. Have the 2"x4" extend your PCS table and it will hold the extension, making that whole process a breeze.

    Thank you for showing your build! I have the same 36” saw and am strongly considering doing this. I just wish all the wings and such were not so expensive. It sure seems like I won’t regret it when I go ahead and do it.

    Nice. one small complaint- the sound of your music is about 5 times louder that the voice part which forces one to keep adjusting the volume. HAve a nice day.

    I just figured out that the knob used to raise and lower the lift is an 8mm wrench. It should fit the router clamp.

    Are you able to tell me the on-center distance between the router fence track slots. Sawstop says that they don’t have that information. Odd. I’d like to use a different fence. Thanks.

    Great job. I’m looking at doing this also… now that you had it for a couple years, do you still like adding it into your table saw or do you wish that you would’ve done it and a separate structure from your table saw?

    can I just remove the cast iron wing and just attach the table to my center main cast iron table? I want to make the saw much smaller I don't need or want it that large

      You still have to deal with the fence rails…. So the saw doesn’t get any less wide doing that.

    Does the router plate actually screw down into the router table top? It looks like maybe its the two larger counter sunk holes in the left/right of the middle?

    Installing the router table top doesn’t make the table saw any wider does it?

    • @Conradlovesjoy
      @Conradlovesjoy Рік тому

      No. If you look when it’s installed, it’s no wider than the original fence rails.

    Hi, for the CNS, Sawstop say it's not compatible with the mobile base. I don't plan to move the saw very much but would like to keep the mobile base installed. Is this going to be a problem? thanks.

    Was it worth it? Seems like it reduces your table saw capacity by quite a bit. Is it the best router table solution in the market?

    • @elmswickandoak
      @elmswickandoak  Рік тому +2

      Hey Clayton, It doesn't impact the saw capacity at all. You do have to remove the router table fence but with the cast extension insert and the router table itself, it fits within the exact same footprint and overall table size. I don't know that it's the best router table solution on the market but I was looking for something that would not add take up space in my shop. It works really well and don't really have any complaints that are worth mentioning.

    hey, so in theory, the process would be the same, if you wanted to install on the left?

    • @elmswickandoak
      @elmswickandoak  2 роки тому +1

      More or less but you wouldn't have the extra cast iron insert.

    What router did you used ? Is it one router brand can fit there or any router?

    • @elmswickandoak
      @elmswickandoak  2 роки тому +1

      I put in a Bosch 1617evs. It should fit most router brands; the bosch, Porter Cable 7518, and Milwaukee 5625 are the most commonly used. However, Porter has had quality issues over the past few years.

    How long did the install take?

    • @elmswickandoak
      @elmswickandoak  2 роки тому +2

      If I hadn't been filming, it would have taken around 4-5 hours. The longest part was cast iron table level.
