John is the only singer I've ever seen that can sing a better cover than the original artists and I'm talking Art Garfunkel, ACDC, Cold Chisel (this song) and many many others. He's a master of his craft.
@@leelee2350 Well, there is Sinead O'Connor and her cover of "Nothing Compares to You." Then there's Kasey Chambers cover of "Loose Yourself." I can't think of any others that are better. So, close, but no cigar.
John's son Robert was married in February and photos from the wedding have been released. John looks great, happy and healthy. All love to John, Jill and family❤
You want shivers. Watch him sing it when he was in his 50s. Find him singing it in the 2003 ish year. He just mastered it to a new level Love you John 💕
@Dr_KAP to me, musically this is a better version and also better with Queen Venetta on the backing vocals. Dannielle Gaha sounded a little flat in that IMHO. However, I prefer John's actual vocals on The Last Time version more. The extra maturity in his voice added a little more depth and I also think the 3rd verse in that version hits a little harder emotionally than this one. Either way, both are fantastic versions of this brilliant Steven Prestwich song.
This has always been a favourite song of John's. It was originally a Cold Chisel song and John does perform it with Jimmy Barnes. I've personally never liked the screaming, but by age 54, John performed this (2003) in The Last Time concert and is the best vocal performance he has given in my opinion.
Farnsey is always flawless, spinetingling perfect, yet we also are sometimes astounded by his genius. No matter how good his performance is he's always pulled something magical out of his musical box of tricks. One of his most outstanding, emotive performances was Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar. The 1992 live is the best.
Please keep reacting to our John. I love seeing how much you appreciate his vocal mastery. He is the master of any genre he cares to sing. John is the GOAT!!!! If you want to get those crazy tingles, type in: John Farnham - Carols by Candlelight. Mary's Boy Child, You'll Never Walk Alone. Mary's Boy Child is great, but the chills really intensify when he sings You'll Never Walk Alone. I was fortunate enough to be there that night. It was an absolutely mind blowing performance.
My 1st time hearing it live would’ve been 88 or 89. Have seen him live 5 times. He didn’t sing it at every show. Especially later on as his catalog grew so vast. The last time I saw him live was 2010, and he was still singing in the same key, and still bringing the house down.
Steve Prestwich wrote this song while he was with Cold Chisel (Legendary Aussie Rock Band) Cold Chisel broke up soon after and Steve Prestwich joined the Little River Band with John. The song was then also released on one of the LRB Albums. Which is how John first got to record this song. John then also released the song on one of his solo albums after leaving the LRB and it became a regular on his concert setlists. Cold Chisel original version of phenomenal and John Farnham just took it to a whole other level. He went a lot harder on the vocals where as Cold chisels original is smoother. ❤❤❤
John is so good that he just draws talent to him. A prime example of this is that two of his backing singers (Vanetta Fields and Lisa Edwards) had prominent careers of their own before they decided to join John's band. In fact, Lisa is a hall of fame member in her own right. Not for backing John, but for the work she did before joining John's band. 😀 ❤😊
You should check out John singing a cover of Stevie Wonder’s Love’s in need. He sings it acapella with his band and back up singers as support singers. It is truly amazing. Thanks for reacting to our John.
Love this performance. The way he can belt out is next level. You gotta check out Cold Chisel the original band performing this song live 2003 Ringside
I think John was leading into Amazing Grace with Lindsay and Vanetta his back up singers. This will also blow your mind. John is really generous and acknowledges his musicians and singers because they are the best. Great reaction.😊
Such a fantastic reaction to a truly great and very under- estimated legendary artist. One of the greatest live performance artists ever you would have to say.
Welcome from Australia. You love guitar/drums and more heavy rock. JOHN FARNHAMs Live version of ALL OUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS will blow you away. Its one of his top 5 performances in Australia. To find it CUT and PASTE the following TITLE into you tube ... John Farnham - All Our Sons and Daughters + Credits (High Quality).
G'day from Sydney Australia, thank you for reacting to John Farnham he is much loved in Australia. Can you Please Please Please react to John Farnhams s song Rolling Home, best wishes to you and your Family.
You’ll find that 33% of people living in Australia were born overseas. I’m first/second generation Australian born to Italian immigrants my mum is first generation born Australian. My dad was born in Italy. Farnsey is the GOAT!
Thank you for your great reaction and appreciation of our phenomenal Aussie Legend, John Farnham! John Farnham is the GOAT! Please watch many more of his 6 decades of amazing hit songs, Albums and live concerts. ...Plus he also has a fantastic Documentary Movie made of his life that was released in 2023, called: 'John Farnham- Finding The Voice'. It is awesome!
John did this with Jimmy Barnes, from Cold Chisel once. This was Jimmy's song, with Ian Moss. Look for Mossie at the last stand concert, Georgia. Look for When something is Wrong with my Baby with Barnsey and Farnsey..
This was John doing a cover of one of Cold Chisel's songs. I think you have just reacted to Jimmy Barnes, who was one of the two lead singers for that band. Jimmy is also one of the few artists that can go toe to toe with John. They do have a couple of songs where they sing as a duet ('When Something is Wrong With My Baby' is one of the best). Well done.
This was so great, John does this cold chisel cover to perfection but the best version was from his the last time concert, he was a bit older but omg, the passio and emotion he put into it was chilling and his voice, even with the years of belting out those high notes was still flawless. And in this particular concert he did an epic version of “amazing grace” with two of his backing singers, you’ve got to hear that.
If u haven't yet listened to John and Sir Tom Jones singing on Hey Hey It's Saturday tv show, then you should. Sir Tom looks at John when he is singing and smiles as he knows John's vocal ability is truly special!
Watch the version from the last time concert. It will blow your mind as he is in his 50s in it and belts even better than here. He is the GOAT…nobody comes close
G'day, When the war is over is an Australian classic from the 80's. I believe the songs story stems from a young soldier who is in Nam (Vietnam) writing to his girl back home (Aust). Great review BTW.
If you haven't already done so (I haven't seen it yet sorry if you have), I (and many others would too) recommend listening to the song immediately after this which you can see him starting to lead in to it by bringing Venetta and Lindsay up with him. That song is of course Amazing Grace. It's well worth the listen.
'Please Don't Ask Me' live with the MSO is another incredible performance. He also does a version with Olivia Newton-John, but I think the solo version with the MSO is the best. And the song isn't a rock song, it's a whole different genre.
Ok, so as has been mentioned before. John's voice at 52 yo is even better. Here is the famous 2003 rendition of 'When the War is Over'. Do yourself a favour ! ua-cam.com/video/BekbvlLzMWc/v-deo.html
Obviously you love Farnesy & you have heard his ballads such as When The War is Over, so please do yourself a favour & watch & listen to his live version of Long Way to the Top if you want to Rock n Roll by AC/DC, another Aussie band & also a duet with Olivia Newton John from The Main Event, called Please Don’t Ask Me, but have tissues ready…..Don’t forget to watch Cold Chisel, yes more Aussies, live doing Bow River…
@@Saan42 I absolutely agree with you. Both versions are fantastic, but every time I hear this version, I get tingles all over my body. John is so, so amazing
This song When The War Is Over is about the war like the first World War Second World War and so on you have to listen to the lyrics of the song this song is a Cold Chisel song but John does it better

Yes I know Art and Garfunkel say Cecilia
Dude your doing a fantastic job, I believe you are honest in your reactions with John Farnham's song. Thank you.
John Farnham has the best voice in the world 🌎 Period
John's son Robert was married in February and photos from the wedding have been released. John looks great, happy and healthy. All love to John, Jill and family❤

Welcome to the John Farnham appreciation crowd.
I Burn for u is lovely
It’s my favourite then Touch of Paradise.
I see all those teenage girls looking up at him adoringly and I remember that their mothers were doing the same thing 20 years earlier.
Great reaction again to our John - he loves performing this song and it shows - so much passion and emotion. Love you John ❤😂🎉
Thank you for your great reaction. John Farnham THE GOAT. ❤❤❤❤

I prefer this version but both are fantastic!
I agree @pennystreet8183. When he sings this at his Last Time concert you can hear the maturity in his voice. It’s my favourite
