Jimmy Barnes, John Farnhm and Johnny Diesel, 3 Aussie legends, 3 beautiful souls..this is my local music I grew up with
Simply good people, with extraordinary talent. How lucky are we Aussies.
This era was both Jimmy and John at the absolute peak of their vocal power.
An amazing song and amazing collaboration between these two powerhouses. John Farnham is the greatest and most versatile male vocalist of all time, he can sing anything, any genre and Jimmy great too and with diesel’s backing vocals beautiful. Epic Australian artists.
Now you might like ‘Stone Cold’ with Jimmy Barns and Joe Bonamassa. Love this
Great suggestion.
If you want to see Jimmy at his best with the amazing Joe Bonamassa, I can't recommend this enough. It is just incredible. Jimmy and Joe together is sublime. Enjoy.
I love the way he talks about it as if it was 100 years ago! I thought it was just yesterday.
lol!
Yes Makes us feel so old It feels like yesterday to me Time goes so fast
They dont sing live like this anymore either. Just the best ❤️💕🤩 The live bands are just fantastic. Your comments are so true about the love, joy and passion. Thank you 💖❤️
Australian singers do. if they can’t sing live don’t bother stepping out the stage period!! 🧐
Hello my Bosnian neighbour Im Croatian. I just love your reactions to our Jewels of Music. You should listen to to Johnnies Albums, and if course our other great performer Jimmy Barnes's Albums. Awesome just Awesome. We are so lucky to have other great Legends too. Much love and respect from Australia. ❤
I love Johnny and Jimmy. They ruled the airwaves
That was a wonderful reaction. You obviously know outstanding music when you hear it. World class artists all three.
“DAMN,!!!…😏😏Awww love this…❤️❤️❤️have seen John Farnham in concert 5-6 times..also been listening to Barnsey since the 70’s in Cold Chisel ..great song thank you💞💞😊😊❤️❤️🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🔥🔥
Ohh!!! Also Deisel!! That guitar 😻❤️❤️🇦🇺
Welcome to discovering John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes, If you really want to see one of the best live vocal performances you will ever see watch Help (LIVE with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra) This is the link ua-cam.com/video/dv54giOSRKs/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ArmandoRamos This is a Vocal Master Piece with no tricks.
You've hit the nail on the head with describing the Australian music industry. Our singers/bands have mostly come up from playing in pubs etc. No computers, no voice modulators.... Australians are very aware of those things and don't accept it. If you can't sing live... with just a guitar when required.... you don't make it in Australia. If you can't tell a commercial, global music management company who wants to control you and your music, to fuck off.... you don't survive in Australia. If you want to act like a Diva in Australia... you'll be booed off the stage. We are here for music..... not your big ego. It's why we love Pink.... she got the concept of Aussie music early on..... it's why other global artists don't come here, because they know we won't put up with bullshit...... Music is part of Australias core.....but it's got to be music..... not commercialised dross.....
Love your words and couldn't agree more. Makes me realise how lucky I am.Legends I got to grow up with.
Yes indeed. 3 of our best ever. Great reaction. Luv from Australia ❤️🎼❤️🎼❤️
Wonderful reaction! John Farnham's song Touch of Paradise is sublime...a must watch! The guitarist is Jimmy Barnes' brother in law...all legends!
They don’t make singers like this anymore
This song is a Sam and Dave cover, originally released in 1966. Jimmy Barnes performed this song before in 1982, in Germany at Rockapalast with his band, Cold Chisel. Then this collaboration with John Farnham in the 1990s.
Chisel has two very good singers, Jimmy Barnes, who is my favourite singer, ever ❤, and Ian Moss, who is their lead guitarist 🎸 In their version, Jimmy sings the higher part.
JImmy and John are very legendary in Australia. We know how lucky we are ❤
PS Don't forget Diesel, who was on the guitar and harmonised at the end. He is also a star 🌟
The beginning starts with impact right away. There is no talent like that anymore and if there is, then it's few and far away !! I love your reactions.
Welcome to getting to know these incredible artists so much more to know. They have decades of work. John is the G.O.A.T ❤❤❤from Australia
Correction- John is one of the GOATs from Australia. We have many besides John.
Top tier performance. Brilliant reaction. ❤ I remember watching a "meet John Farnham" event and his wife Jill talks about how they bought John a welder for his birthday one year and she dragged out an ugly candelabra he had made her and she had to pretend she loved it. So funny.
😅😅😅 man that story sounds fun. Is there any video of that I wpuld love to see that
@@welderreactor haha. Yes. It's on UA-cam. It's called "An audience with john farnham 2002." The timestamp for that section is around 39.00.
I call it the accelerator note 😍 Woohoo !
My favourite version of this song because of that note....😄
The ending sums up these guys, the sheer musicality in their voices is phenomenal.
Great reaction to this performance. Thank you. Gotta love love these oldies...❤
There are so many brilliant songs of John Farnham's to react to: too many to suggest here, but, always listen to him live (as you have here - such an added dimension to 'just' his voice; he gives 110% every time, and has fun doing it. John aka The GOAT. John & Jimmy have a huge respect for each other's talent. These two epic voices will keep you enthralled for weeks, if not months. BTW we in Aus call John THE VOICE. That leads to another performance you should react to: You're the Voice with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. One of many from that concert. PS John used to blow up many microphones in his early days, not to mention destroying mic stands with his 'acrobatics' you can't be distracted for a minute with John, you might miss some tricks! Kudos to Diesel, his guitar solo is amazing, wonderful harmonies add to the performance.
My favourite performance of this song by Farnsy, Barnsy Diesel. It was done on live television & was a part of life in Australia
Jimmy Barnes solo or with his Band Cold Chisel are a must for any playlist
oh BTW Cold Chisel are going on a tour of Australia to celebrate their 50th anniversary later this year
And I’ve got front row tickets in Newcastle
Beautiful reaction! ❤ We love these guys ❤️
Jimmy started as a lead singer in the iconic Australian rock band Cold Chisel, before going on as a solo artist.
What a lovely heartfelt reaction - welcome to two of the best Aussie voices! John Farnham is amazing - always do live performances if you are reacting, they are so much better than studio versions.
Loved your reaction my friend. Lets see more Aussie legends on your channel please lol. Hi from Australia
This is a cover of the Dave and Sam song from 1966, and was released by Jimmy Barnes on his Soul Deep album; John Farnham joins Jimmy in a classic blues song, the feature guitarist is Jimmy's brother-in-law Johnny Diesel.
This performance is from 1991, but is just as classic as the music of it's time.
2 of Australia’s finest vocalists. Both with long careers 50 years plus. Barnesy has just announced 50 year anniversary concerts of his former band Cold Chisel. You would enjoy them also.
That show was actually on TV in the guitarist is Johnny Diesel is also a singer and Johnny Diesel actually Jimmy Barnes brother-in-law those three boys are best friends till this day are still great friends together
Such a great reaction so much to discover with John and Jimmy definitely check out Help by John and the MSO a vocal masterclass
great song
All your words are just fine 👌🏼👏
Great reaction. Jimmy Barnes is a really loud singer. Apart from solo stuff he was with a band called Cold Chisel. John Deisel is also a singer . John Farham you have now heard of..
What you lack in words (because English is not your first language) you make up for in insightful expression. You have experienced our top singers here who have l-o-n-g musical careers. I love it when John 'raises it to the roof' in this song with his masculine angelic vocals. Jimmy's voice is soul-sounding and they pair wonderfully together. I love the a cappela singing at the very end. Jimmy was the lead co-singer in a famous Aussie band named Cold Chisel. They disbanded years ago but are getting together for a 50 year anniversary reunion tour this year. There is plenty more to come from both singers. The third singer-guitarist is Diesel who also had a band and a good singing career. For its fairly small population, Australia has produced a big number of wonderful singers and musicians. What country are you from ?
Man Thanks for sharing your comment. I come from Bosnia.
John has the voice they say "to sing the phonebook", that's how great his voice is; he can sing anything from pop to rock to musical theatre to opera. John's version of The Beatles classic song Help with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is a step above, him singing Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar the musical is magnificent; his duet with Olivia Newton John singing Please Don't Ask Me from The Main Event Concert is beautiful theatre, and his duet with Anthony Warlow(Australia's Phantom) singing a comical version of Grenada. Enjoy this rabbit-hole of a journey.
Love Jimmy and John but credit too to Diesel on guitar. Excellent Aussie talent.
❤❤❤
Thank you for that great reaction.Australia has so many phenomenal artists. So happy you are discovering them. 🫶🇦🇺✌️
Amazing to watch your reaction to this I was in the audience with this song everybody was just TRANSFIXED in time! on another planet lol!
Well done yep absolutely brilliance
This is a Sam and Dave cover song fto. 1966. The guitarist 🎸 is the legend Johnny Diesel. He is Jimmy's brother inlaw. All their reactions should be live as their performances are a show in themselves.
Love your reactions to our Aussie stars x❤❤
A rabbit hole with so many lovely momentous moments…Explore and enjoy ❤💖
I heard this song when it was first released 🥰

Also don't know if you know he recently got mouth cancer😔😔
Which is very sad as I'm sure he won't be able to sing again 😕 and honestly he is such a nice guy
So sad he got the cancer especially in the mouth 😪
But he got throw the treatment so thats good ❤️
Fantastic Reaction again to two of our amazing Aussie Legends. Thank you xoxo
“Bow River “ Cold Chisel. Live ( 7.03 mins) Jimmy Barnes was in the band Cold Chisel . You will love Bow River. It is wild. Aussie artists are always greatest live. They are the best.
Thank you ❤
Yes, John and Jimmy are Australian vocal royalty. You might like to check out Jimmy Barnes with Joe Bonamassa doing “Stone Cold” and Jimmy doing a duet with Tina Turner-“Simply the Best”. For a look at a great female vocalist, have a squizz at Vanessa Amorosi doing Aretha Franklin’s “Natural Woman”. Thank you for your elegant reaction! I’m subscribed to enjoy your Australian journey. 🙂 Link to Vanessa here -ua-cam.com/video/tYXufX9hLbY/v-deo.htmlsi=jZdrbS4gIbF4C1d_
I’ve just subscribed to you as I really liked your reaction to this wonderful performance. (You also have one of the most pleasant accents I’ve heard for a long time! 😊) I have a recommendation for you to watch Bobby Caldwell’s live performance of “What Love Will Make You Do”. It had a similar effect on me as this had on you when I heard it for the first time only a week ago. It’s at least as old as this video of Jimmy and John. I consider it to be one of the most well-crafted compositions ever. Bobby wrote it and played most of the instruments when he recorded it. Sadly, he passed only a year ago. When John Farnham is ready to return to public life I’d love to hear him sing this song. Best wishes for a long and happy experience as a YT reactor!
Thank you so much for your kind words and for subscribing! I'm thrilled you enjoyed my reaction and found my accent pleasant-it's always nice to hear that!
I truly appreciate your recommendation of Bobby Caldwell's live performance of "What Love Will Make You Do." Bobby Caldwell was an extraordinary talent, and it's wonderful to know that this song had such a profound impact on you. I'll definitely check it out and share my thoughts.
It's incredibly moving to think about the lasting legacy of artists like Bobby Caldwell and how their music continues to touch hearts. I agree that it would be fantastic to hear John Farnham perform this beautiful composition.
Thank you again for your thoughtful comment and best wishes. I'm excited to continue this journey with amazing viewers like you!
That Super 66 Draw 1079 dates the video at 23 Nov 1991
Yeah man, check out Jimmy solo and with other artists and Jimmy in the band cold chisel. Live stuff though. Thanks for looking at great old aussie music and love your work!!
Do Jimmy Barnes song You’ve got nothing I want. He wrote that after coming home from being stuffed around in the US music industry.
If you respond to Aussie singers always respond to live performances they are so much better than the studio versions as you are finding out, thr guitarist is also a major singing talent on par with the others all three are lead singers with thei own band. Johnny Diezel is his name
I'd also like to introduce you to another great Australian artist, Kasey Chambers is an accomplished Australian country singer-songwriter; but her version of Eminem's Lose Yourself gives it an entirely different approach, where Eminem's rap approach is more reactive Kasey's version is more emotive.
Two of the Greats mate !
But Sorry ,Two of Our Great Aussie Singers & Guitatist as well !
Yes ,They don't Sing today like this Any more !
Bloody Aussie ledgens
John's last name is pronounced FARNNAM
But why you have "H" in middle.😅. I speak Serbian and what we write is how we speak. There is no writing one way and reading diferently😅
I know you love your heavy metal but it looks like maybe deep down you are actually a blues rock man 😁😁🐨🇦🇺😎
Dude you might just be right😅
Then you needed talent, now you only need a computer.
No reason to apologize for occasionally having to search for the right words. I would venture a guess that most of your audience is similar to myself. I only speak my native language fluently and really only know basic structure and some key phrases in other languages. While I can engage in limited conversations in those languages, I struggle often enough with recalling a phrase I haven't used in years, I would certainly struggle with trying to communicate something as complex as a musical analysis. On the other hand, I had no difficulty in understanding exactly what you were communicating at all times.
You talk to much
