this film definitely needs lots of light. amazing stock for the price though.
I agree!
One of my fave stocks!
Very nice looking! The UN54 often looks rather flat. This footage is very crisp. What kind of camera and lens did you use?
Shot on Optar Illumina Primes on my Arri SR2.
@@nkosiroma Nice! Thank you. So I presume the SR2 has been converted to Super 16.
@@truefilm6991 Yep!
maybe this is just me, but I really like the raw ungraded shots better! I feel like the grade takes away a bit from the grittiness of the film which makes it so good imo
Nothing wrong with liking the natural look of the footage! I’m a fan of both the raw and graded. Cheers!
@@nkosiroma yeah, you did a great job on both btw!!
Beautiful footage , what is your experience with Orwo vs Kodak 16mm b&w? Is pricing similar ?
I think Kodak is cleaner than the Orwo stocks-not as grainy. Orwo is cheaper though
You have South African Name
Faces look a little flat... is this because of the film stock or because of the lens?
I think the film rendered the faces nicely and held contrast well, although grainy, especially in the highlights.
You can see more footage I’ve shot with these lenses (Optar Illuminas) in other videos on my channel. I’ve used them with a variety of film stocks, so that might help you determine how you think the lenses render faces.
This is not a 100iso film, idc what the box says.
