Stumbled on your channel and love your content. Was a Tesco delivery driver in Brighton for 8 years then moved to Australia. Watching your videos brings back some not too long ago nostalgia. Good luck with the HGV work.
Did a last drop on my shift 2 Saturdays ago, i drove about 10/11 miles when i got there no one home rang customer only to be told they'd put the wrong address on the order .........HuuuuuuuuuuuH 🙄and it was a big order , 6 totes in all . ❤ from a Sainsburys driver .
Been watching a few of your videos recently and they’re really good. I’m Starting a job with Argos, first driving job I’ve ever had. Any tips for new drivers? Like what to expect and things to look out for would be so helpful. Keep up the content
Thank you! If you’ve never driven a van before, take your time and get used to the size of it. It it has an overhang at the back understand that on tight corners or junctions with cars opposite it will swing out slightly so take them wider than you would in a car (don’t just full lock wheel and send it basically). I’ve never worked as an Argos driver but I used to work out back in one.. some of the stuff you will deliver can be quite heavy, like chairs and home gym equipment.. so make sure you have the proper posture and tools for lifting. Don’t knacker yourself for the sake of speed, take time once again. I’m sure the Argos drivers will be able to give you some helpful advice though; I hope you enjoy driving. Make sure you got a good music playlist or a podcast ready!
Much better to be honest, apart from the refund faff the fact the time slots aren’t monitored and the store telling me if customers want the delivery early we can drop it off early and change the route to make more sense is brilliant.. I left 25 mins late the other day and got back 45 minutes early at the end of the night. Saved so much time!
@@JackDelivers wait your store doesn't even let you change the route? thats mad the microlise often sends you on slow routes to avoid "restricted roads" (not restricted) not to mention roads which get closed or have traffic jams etc, i never stick to their routes. or do you mean do the drops in a different order.
The best feeling to heading back after your last drop knowing your done. Even better if you have no putbacks/returns.
