Just got my G87, excited to try this! Thanks for posting this! How is the sound on the freeway/crusing? Do you miss having the valves or no regrets at all? I do find the G87 m2 very quiet while crusing...
It's not loud but it was nice to be able to close the valves on the highway. If I get a mid pipe I'll probably reconnect them or get a valve controller.
@@DaveUnleashed have you considered the valve controller in place of the midpipe or you think a midpipe + vavle controller be more in line of your taste? From your video it sounds fairly loud compared to the stock vavle setup.
@@jluuhalo1286 The cold start is perfect but then it quiets down. I think if I do a resonator delete with a new mid pipe it should be perfect, but then I might want the valves back to quiet it down sometimes. It's 6 cylinder turbo after all so no need to get crazy.
@@DaveUnleashed coming from an M240i/Supra. I miss the tone of the B58 engine. I understand the double turbo will make a different sound. I'll try your method. Thanks again for posting!!!
I believe this allows the engine to breathe more freely, although closed flaps help warm up the catalytic converter for environmental reasons. If the cat breaks I don't expect it to be covered by warranty.
