    They call it rice when u put cosmetic enhancements with no performance gains on a Japanese car. So an m style bumper n no performance parts on a German car should b called sauerkraut.

    Good job, but I recommend using a ‘tap-a-fuse’ socket to tap positive 12v. It’s just safer and won’t cause bad connections or plastic to melt in case something goes wrong and cause a fire.

    • @moorepower13
      @moorepower13 5 років тому +7

      That and I would have used a switched fuse not constant, that way your battery isn't getting drained by the wireless receiver.

    That 12V constant live will eventually drain your battery, also killing it's health overtime. Get a fuse blade "add a fuse" adapter, then plug it into fuse 143 (rear fusebox) as this is a switched live, it'll only go live when you turn on the ignition saving your battery. I only know this because I did the exact same, the controller box constantly draining the battery wrecked mine after 12 months.

    Overall well done, I'm not a fan of the way u connected the fuse but I've seen worse. Can I just give you a small piece of advice. When you put a cable true the rubber seal, don't cut out the diameter of the connector but only the diameter of the wire. If you can't fit the connector true the seal, cut the seal using a knife, from the centre to the exterior in a straight line. That way you'll be able to fit the wire perfectly and it will still seal the way it was used to. It's just a word of advice 😉👍keep up the good work

      Kiefer Loewen it’s more of a personal preference. You will not pass emissions so come time you’ll need to put your stock cat back in the car to pass. However if you don’t mind, removing the cat is the way to go. But you will need a tune to make actually power gains.

    Great instructional video!!!
    Just a couple of safety you missed or may consider to throw out as a disclaimer.
    1. Get some sort of ventilation when welding. The fumes and smoke are toxic as hell and 14:37 you are balls deep in! Think about your lungs buddy!
    2. When deburring whit that pneumatic tool. Those chips that the tool is grinding off is going everywhere! I personally experienced them to end up in my hair and stuck to all my clothing and they are pointy as hell witch resorts to hours of finding those small splinters, so it is preferred to have an apron to deflect the flying burrs.

    How much was the cut out system?

    • @JDCarsChannel

      Only one exhaust pipe on this car. Links to the cutouts below.

  • @hodor83
    @hodor83 5 років тому +1

    You should go for High flow exhaust instead of the straight pipes. It just gets to much turbo whistle, rattle and loud. We want it loud, not abnoxiously loud

    could i still be able to do this without having a resonator delete? i really want to have the cutout before the muffler like you did, but would it even make a difference if it’s not straightpiped?

    • @richardjavier7236
      @richardjavier7236 2 роки тому

      Yea, the res is for the rasp sound so it doesn't bother you when you drive. Personally my way would be to delete the catalytic converter, keep the resonator and put this before the muffler, that way you have the best of both worlds on quiet or rowdy of your choice and get 25-30 hp back to you. If you got neighbors and you like them but want the rowdy/and enhancement this is the best way to go

    How do you pass inspection, registration with this?

    • @JDCarsChannel
      @JDCarsChannel  2 роки тому

      Local inspection doesn't mind the electronic valve, especially if it's closed.

    Is it bad for the car in long run? I mean the exhaust system with the cut out open will be extremly short.

    • @JDCarsChannel
      @JDCarsChannel  3 роки тому

      The exhaust system is actually only about 2 feet shorter. Not extremely short. On turbo vehicles, less exhaust resistance will increase power.

    Hey.... Your videos are so high in quality, I'm pretty late writing(2yrs later) but I'm willing to buy those cut out and it just says they're not available... So you know where could I find them?

      It shouldn’t if you do it after the catalytic converters. Noise laws maybe different.

    Do we think alike when accessing power for aftermarket accessories,...I do the same thing with power leads and fuses! LOL! Nice work!!
    Please say did you resealed the large hole you made in the Grommet,....personally, I think you should have done a "slit cut"! this way,..the grommet would still keep moisture out of the vehicle, etc.

    • @JDCarsChannel
      @JDCarsChannel  4 роки тому +1

      I did reseal the hole. I was unable to make a slit cut because the grommet was a very rigid plastic.

    Awsome video..thanks for the info..only thing i thought could have been better was that gromet cutting..you should have cut the wire then made the smallest hole and then solder the wire back to have minimal water seepage..but thats just a gromet can be changed at any moment loo

  • @AntonioClaudioMichael
    @AntonioClaudioMichael 4 роки тому

    Best way to do the fuse instead of wrapping the wire get a fuse tap will have 2 fuses on it and crimp connectors to wire strait to 1 fuse for the added item and 1 fuse for the orginal item and you just crimp and then plug in
