They call it rice when u put cosmetic enhancements with no performance gains on a Japanese car. So an m style bumper n no performance parts on a German car should b called sauerkraut.
Good job, but I recommend using a ‘tap-a-fuse’ socket to tap positive 12v. It’s just safer and won’t cause bad connections or plastic to melt in case something goes wrong and cause a fire.
Hey dude look into fuse taps they are much safer than what you did. Also look for better grommet or seal up that hole. It was there for a reason especially right by your fuse box
has it rained since you did this? If so, there goes your car when water gets in your fusebox. Should have put silicone to fill up the hole you made in the grommet.
Definitely the route I want to go on my charger r/t. It’s loud all the time but I’d like to be able to go stealth mode at times. This with a quieter yet still free flowing exhaust after the cut out should give me the best of both worlds. Nice job on the installation by the way.
That 12V constant live will eventually drain your battery, also killing it's health overtime. Get a fuse blade "add a fuse" adapter, then plug it into fuse 143 (rear fusebox) as this is a switched live, it'll only go live when you turn on the ignition saving your battery. I only know this because I did the exact same, the controller box constantly draining the battery wrecked mine after 12 months.
If your going to have the body kits on the car, you minus well debadge the car. It’ll make it look cleaner from the rear and just makes sense to me.. idk just my opinion (:
Great job JD. I might do this mod down the line. Wanted to make my F30 a bit louder but the wife and kids will hate me then...but , now I can do this and activate it when they’re not riding with me😜 Awesome work! And don’t listen to these haters who find any stupid shit to nitpick. I don’t see them taking the time to produce videos! Strong work!! better to make a small (wire size) hole in the grommet then slice it to the edge of the grommet, so it will seal around the wire instead of the huge hole you put in it.
I've got stage 2+ on my f30 335i, and the resonator delete and electric cutout is my next step before I go to pure stage 2 turbo upgrade. Thank you for doing this video!!!
Should put a valve on the other side too. What would it sound like if you closed off the stock exhaust when you open up up the bypass.🤔...just an idea I had when I watched this. Sounds good though!
You should take some rubber cement and fill that hole around the wire in that grommet so there's no chance of moisture getting near your fuses and in your trunk.
You know hes seeing these comments. No harm no foul. Just for future reference as a installer of many sound systems and professional mechanic. Literally just cut a X into the grommet and dab a little rtv around your wire to stay dry 🙃

Overall well done, I'm not a fan of the way u connected the fuse but I've seen worse. Can I just give you a small piece of advice. When you put a cable true the rubber seal, don't cut out the diameter of the connector but only the diameter of the wire. If you can't fit the connector true the seal, cut the seal using a knife, from the centre to the exterior in a straight line. That way you'll be able to fit the wire perfectly and it will still seal the way it was used to. It's just a word of advice 😉👍keep up the good work

That and I would have used a switched fuse not constant, that way your battery isn't getting drained by the wireless receiver.
You recommend a specific tap a fuse? Could not find one that handles a 20a fuse.
Michael Moore hooked mine up to the rear accessory socket which turns off 15 min after the car locks.

mrphotomanTIM or just slitted the gromet so that it was tight to the cable but allowed the plug to pass thru
exactly, the hole should be smaller so the cable is snug and then a little filler

Won't it cause issues that you just cut a whole in a grommet that was water tight right underneath your fuse box?

How do you pass inspection, registration with this?
Local inspection doesn't mind the electronic valve, especially if it's closed.
Is it bad for the car in long run? I mean the exhaust system with the cut out open will be extremly short.
The exhaust system is actually only about 2 feet shorter. Not extremely short. On turbo vehicles, less exhaust resistance will increase power.

It shouldn’t if you do it after the catalytic converters. Noise laws maybe different.
