People who have no legal knowledge of warranty law shouldn’t give advice regarding warranties. No, modify your car does not void the warranty. A warranty cannot be voided unless the issuer proves without a doubt that the modification lead directly to the failure in question. Basically, bmw can’t void your warranty on your engine because you modified your exhaust or tuned the car if the engine has a failure related to a production defect. Hope that makes sense to anyone who cares lol.
I don't understand how a exhaust can sound good to some with all the pops & bangs? It definitely ruins the sound of the engine tone as you want as clean as possible, otherwise its just a bang from whatever engine
If you get an exhaust with its own aftermarket valves, you can “close” the nonexistent bmw valves to disable the pops while still having the actual valves open
I have the opposite opinion. The pops and bangs is music to ears. Engine sound is good if you are on the race track though. Otherwise pops and bangs all day all night
My BMW has the N55 with the 4in turbo outlet and EWG. Then there's the cat then its a straight pipe (no resonator) to the M Performance exhaust. Sounds great even though it's not an a M car but its got some mods. Good thing there's no emission testing or inspections required by law here.
The N54, N55, B58 and many others disagree with your assertion, there's plenty of tone in those engines despite being turbocharged. It's the S55 and S58 which sound dead and toneless and I honestly can't understand why. It's not because they're twin turbo, because the N54 was twin-turbo as well yet sounded much better.
Can someone please tell me what the outtro music is called? It sounds really good. Also x pipe sounded really amazing. The first setup you guys showed.
So this is definitely not the first 101mm on the market IRL LLC did this months ago and made it a true modular design, INKED Custom out of Germany has also been doing this for months now
Can you please clarify, was the X pipe the best or the X with single mid? Because you mentioned the sound was unique and to my ears sounded better. Just not sure because of the particular comment you made. Still debating which way to go….
It still doesnt sound that diffrent to me. Louder yes but im not sure its worth the warranty and the pain of having to get blag MOT's or switching the exhaust around everytime it goes in. Ive got an OG m2 and I have to say mine sounds significantly nicer. (No OPF) than these do even in stock form. The EU Regs are a pain in the ass.
I love a bit of noise a bit of drama and theatre from my car expecially on cold start but really isn't all the pops and bangs just a little childish, surely by the time we've got to an age where we can afford these types of cars we should of grown out of the noisy exhaust thing. Also like you said voids warranty and won't pass MOT so why 🤔
Having an M5cs now makes me really realize how awful the S55 and S58 sound. 💩 precious car was M3cs and even with Aa EL midpipes it still wasn’t great. 🤷🏻♂️
@@marioslipsos7756 even with a proper exhaust they don't sound anywhere near as good as the 40i cars. It's pretty ironic when the lower-performance car sounds better.

Im curious, how bad is the police over in the UK like how often do they actually get you for a modified exhaust? How aggressively are they going after it if you don’t drive around your hometown like a dickhead all the time? Really would like some input on this.
People need to come to terms with the fact that this S58 engine doesn't sound good at all. I love the m2 and will get one in the near future but sadly after watching all these exhaust UA-cam vids, I'm realising that it's a hopeless cause. It's a highly turbo charge engine that will never sound good. No amount of fake and childish burbles and back firing can change that.
@@turbos7780 completely disagreed, the S55 has some tone whereas the S58 is completely dead. But neither of these sound as good as the N and B engines.
Xpipe sounds the best it removes that raspy sound and gives it a deeper tone 👌🏻
I like the raspy sound
Xpipe makes it sound raspy, thats what they said. I think you meant the single midpipe by what you are discribing

Tell that to Ferrari
The x pop after the single mid pipe actually cleaned up the sound quite a bit. I kinda like it
The system where single mid pipe + Xpipe sounded best
Single mid pipe sounded higher quality and like a more powerful motor so it gets my vote closer to a 2jz deep note than the cheaper raspy bmw note
Anything you can do to make it sound more like a 2JZ gets my vote

If you get an exhaust with its own aftermarket valves, you can “close” the nonexistent bmw valves to disable the pops while still having the actual valves open

Nice. A video of the resonated mid pipe + stock backbox and stock down pipes would be super. 👌
We will get something done soon for this
The bodged up hybrid sounds the best IMO. I like deeper tone. But all sound good.

that sounds amazing only if it wasn't an illegal mod 😍

Yes.

OG m2 with m-perf exhaust is the gold standard of how a turbo6 should sound.
will the X pipe fit 2025 m4?
Exactly why i bought an OG M2 that looks better and with a sports cat and mperf exhaust has the most godly 6cl sound
can confirm. Nothing comes close.
I seen you on drive to survive, cheers mate
Can we get rid of the farty burbles during deceleration?

Is there any possibility to enhance the sound without cutting up the original exhaust? Also that would not cost a fortune?
Unfortunately not.
Yeah, that single mid pipe with the x pipe is money.
Does removing OPF invalidate insurance?
Nope it does not, you would need to inform your insurance that you have installed an after-market exhaust though.

yes

Yes, OPF does not effect the interfaces

There’s actually no mot test for the opf so passes the mot every time ,
wouldn't it fail on emissions though
It's a visual check & a knowledgeable mot tester will fail it,
