G80 M3 here. I've never been able to get default driving mode to change to something other than the base comfort mode. Yet I've done exactly what you did many times over the last 2 years. Did your coding hold and thus you start up in something other than the base comfort/eco mode?
@@F1SimStreams Nope, unfortunately that was one of the coding options that didn't change anything at all. Bummer because it would have been very nice..
@@DailyDownshift I've re-reseached this most of today and just got back from re-trying. Didn't work. But I'll say this, on cold startup, the engine doesn't seem to love anything more than "comfort". I think the car prefers the closed valve back pressure. Finally, I'm certain it's possible via expert mode, but 1) scary and 2) with all I've read and personally observed, I think oem default mode is best for the car.
I have a Z4 M40i in the uk 🇬🇧. After fitting a dsp/amp the asd was deafening but also the indicators. Turning off the asd left the car totally silent. The euro cars have an OPF filter will killed everything. The OPF was bypassed to left the car too loud when combined with a sports cat 200 cell downpipe. A straight through resonator in place of the OPF bypass bought me perfection. The loud indicators were solved when the Rolls Royce sounds. The reduction was about 17decibels
I assume the exhaust video is getting ready to drop soon!? I'm just living vicariously through you while I keep dreaming and watching all the videos of the new M2 lol. I built one online in the new frozen portimao blue with black rims. The look has definitely grown on me from when it was first revealed.
hello my friend has m2 manual and he has problem with traction for example when he tries to do donuts rpm drops to 5k and yes he is in drift mode and traction off
So I tried to code in exactly same way to turn off the auto start/stop on my 2023 BMW M340i, the app was giving me message that it was successfuly coded but when I disconnected the Bimmercode, it didn't change anything and the auto start/stop was still active. Any tips how to solve this?
Hey bud did you get the controller to open the Valves open all the way? BMW apparently doesn’t even open the valves all the way. Just a heads up incase you didn’t know
@@DailyDownshiftso I’m taking delivery of my M2 G87 this Tuesday I’m super stoked, would you recommend getting the cable you have ? Is that only using your phone and that cable and adapter? or should I just get the Bluetooth thing from Bimmercode? Thank you
Would probably be smart to do that so the car has a chance to clear any codes. I started mine right after coding and had a headlight error. Went away as soon as I turned the car off completely and started it again.
@@DailyDownshift yea fair enough. God knows how to turn this thing off completely without locking it... it's so confusing. Let me press the button and switch the damn thing off
Good morning 😊 Are you sure this kinda modification isn’t going against warranty or maintenance package like the 4years/100k miles ? Bmw in Europe is damn severe with not authorised people that “touch” ECUs P.s. love you videos 👌🏻🔝
I don't see why it would mess with warranty or maintenance. This isn't custom coding the ECU, just making changes that are already build into the iDrive. Basically just turning stuff on and off.
I thought it sounded audible enough with ASD off, but then again my rear seats were down so that helps! Catback going on next week, so I'll find out soon enough!
Let me know if you guys have any questions about the features or the cables used to set this up!
Do I need my DME cracked for this?
@@jgaines3200 Nope

Yessir! Expect the exhaust video to drop in 2-3 days. Tomorrow the exhaust and 2 others mods are being installed :)
hi, i just turned off ASD and seems like i have less base from my headunit listening to music. is this possible or just in my head?
I'm curious about the mirrors. With Audi when you have the dip on you adjusting it in that mode to how you want it and then it saves it
Do you need bimmercode to remote start with sport plus to hear the exhaust with valves open?
i can't believe i randomly found nkuch searching for bmw vids! lmao, suscribed my guy

Great video! My g87 is finishing production this week. I got the 6MT, how you liking it? Do you track it? Any regrets?
No regrets but I think if you're building a track car, auto is probably the way to go. Manual works just fine on track though!

hmm not sure, have you tried reaching out to bimmercode about this? I'm sure they'd be able to help
Thanks!
Will this mess with my warranty if i do this on my g87?
nope

I've heard about that limitation, new exhaust should be loud enough but I may have to fix that if it's a problem. I'll find out soon enough!

@@itsjoeymack Up to you, if you want to save money just get the basic cables I have and it'll work just fine. Congrats on taking delivery btw!
Was bowers and wilkins sound profile an option?
Yes it was! I have a full sound system that is tuned particularly well so I didn't activate it.
Isn’t there a code to keep the seat badge light on?
Is there any coding for lane assitant memory in road mode?
Not that I'm aware of

@@LamannaGarage Dude tell me about it, it's so annoying. I just click the on/off button and then open the door. That usually does the trick
Bro my audio now in my g80 is amazing
would this affect the warranty?
Nah, you're just editing settings that don't show up on the iDrive system. They're still in the cars code, just not visible.
This might sound dumb, but if i code ASD off does it void warranty
Of course not!
@@DailyDownshift Really? What about other bimmercode settings?
@@prattsm3 Nope, wont void warranty.
