Anyone worried about using a cleansing oil while being acne prone.. DONT BE! I had this fear and it’s never made me break out. If you think about it, you’re going to emulsify it, rinse it off, then go in with a regular cleanser. It will only be on your face for a couple minutes. :)
Oil is good for your skin! I am using a moisturizer with Squalane oil
@@rileystonepowers3482 yeah! I agree bc it helped me with my oiliness tbh! Literally light oils are the best!
oils can also help with oil control !!
yesss i am acne prone and oil cleansers were such a game changer for me! DHC all the way!
The Muji one broke me out now I’m terrified to even try from other brands..
Love the routine series Susan! I'd love seeing a routine for dry and sensitive skintypes with dryness, hyperpigmentation, redness, acne and occasional dehydration as targeted issues :)
Same!
same!
This is the first time I’ve seen anyone talk about the Cetaphil Redness Relieving moisturizer. I was starting to think I’m the only person who uses it :)
it's so good!!
I love it!!
Dr Dray talks about it all the time
I love it!!! It’s lightweight yet moisturizing enough.
It's a good one, Dr. Dray on yt approved!
Hello! Can you do a routine with products that we can find it also in Europe, please! 🙌🏼 ❤️
I'm from Europe, here's some options to the same products she used although they're not identical they're for the same purposes.
- cerave hydrating/foaming cleanser (i recommend hydrating due to side effects of differin or any other acne prescription strength treatment such as benzoyl peroxide) or la roche posay purifying foaming gel if you don't have cerave.
- Cerave salicylic acid cleanser is available in europe but if you can't get it I recommend the la roche posay effaclar micro peel gel cleanser or the inkey list's salicylic acid cleanser (inkey list can be purchased online)
- There's no dupes for differin, it's entirely unique but you can honsult your doctor about getting it prescribed if they see fit to do so
- Cetaphil is generally available online in the EU or in most pharmacies or convenience stores but if no websites or local shops stock on cetaphil then the Eucerin ph5 lotion, paula's choice omega+ complex moisturizer is also one of my faves but it's only available online.
Btw my best tips is to look for websites from your country that might sell Cerave or Cetaphil. Hope it helps 💕
Thank you so much 🤗 😘
@@finnlinnsone so kind of you❤️, Im still super sad about differin not being otc here🥺😬
@@davidschonfeldwichers8981 tell ya what, come visit america, buy a huge stock pile of differin and then go back home and boom, ya got it🤣
@@ashlynratliff254 The fact that I am even considering it shows how bad of a skincare junky I am 🤣🤣
Yes please! We need more of these affordable products
I love these videos of you doing routines for different skin types using different brands outside of yours. I finally did my Naturium haul and looking forward to using the serums and cleanser.
Me watching when I have normal/dry skin and don’t need any new products : 👁👄👁
i’m oily and i’ve been doing a double cleanse for YEARS! i feel like the oil helps to break down my oil and i feel so clean and not stripped. sometimes balms are a little less intimidating and lately i’ve been loving the Clinique take the day off balm for my first cleanse!
Yessss girl rlly needed this videoooooo w my acne prone self was waiting on thissss🖤🖤💋💋💋💋
To me the simple cleaning oil is my favourite first step! Honestly I love trying new cleansers and the one from simple is ridiculously good compared to some of the most expensive and popular ones that I’ve tried and love also.
I love this! I started using Differin 3 weeks ago to treat intense maskne and it truly works. ☺️
Love the Cetaphil redness relief moisturizer before putting my Tret on.
I love this! I am 42 and break out like a teenager! I recently finally got some answers as to why which is a relief. (Wish I had been a better advocate for myself in my 20’s regarding my skin and health)I have had severe acne of and on for 20 years., (and not normal period symptoms). I was finally diagnosed with POS. (polycystic ovary syndrome). My dermatologist recommended a lot of what you mentioned and she told me to keep my skin care simple. I am on medication as well so hopefully this is a road to less acne. ❤️
The Aveeno clear complexion cleanser is my Holy Grail. I use it with the complexion pads. There’s no better combo for makeup removal
Yes mines too
I’ve been needing this! Thank you!
I absolutely love the cetaphil redness relief moisturizer. My only issue with it is its packaging. When there's like only 1/4 of the product left, the tube would stop dispensing. But when you cut the tube open, you'll find out that there's still so many of the product left. It's not even like just one or two uses left like other tube packaging, this one literally has around at least a week's worth of moisturizer left. If you don't open up that tube, you'd be wasting so much of the product.
I do that with all my tube products. Like you say, there's still a week's worth of product left in there.
@@kendallstark4302 Yea same. But with the Cetaphil one, it's more than the other usual tube moisturizers. Sometimes I'd be surprised to find product still near half empty because the pump sucks so bad.
@@Miumiu0404 the struggle is real 😥
I wish it came in larger, recyclable packaging! I'm tempted to write to Cetaphil to ask them to change this...
Your skin around the eyes is amazing!
Thanks for all the great content Susan! 💞
you literally described my skin type EXACTLY ! (dry acne prone ) for that cetaphil moistuizer ! i’m buying it immediately! (i have dry skin due to the weather change and using differing gel , i’m 16)
I’m 14 and I loved that moisturizer!
i have the same skin type as u & had finish using that moisturiser. it’s great for calming down redness however, it’s not moisturising enough for me :( it’s a very lightweight lotion consistency. i used it like a serum. definitely recommend it for oily acne prone skin people instead
YES!!! My kind of routine! Just fan girled at the dinner table 😂
Love this video! Please do a morning routine for acne and redness, Susan! It would help me so much!^_^
CeraVe PM lotion is amazing for oily, acne prone skin!
love these informative acne prone skin routines, tips and products recommendations 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I love putting my micellar water in a clean, foaming soap dispenser. I find I don’t waste as much micellar water that way and my makeup and sunscreen comes off easier. I go in with a reusable cotton pad and I will add some micellar water to the cotton pad if I feel like it’s tugging on my skin. Just a tip if you want to try to use a cotton pad as little as possible.
I pour micellar water into my bare hands and just swipe my face a little that way the product doesn’t get wasted and absorbed into the reusable cotton pad
@Riley Stone Powers I do this too then rinse with water. Feels much cleaner after as opposed to using a cotton pad.
does the micellar water foam up?
@@cliff2285 no but garnier made a foam micellar water with pump
Because of you I oil cleanse and it’s soo amazing and I have oily skin. Thank you Susan 💕💕
Thank you for this!
Just wanted to say krave’s beet sheild leaves me so glowy it’s crazy. Also, the isntree green tea toner and hyaluronic acid water cream is AMAZBALLS. I am the DEWY KING
Susan I have sensitive, combo, acne prone skin. I use this moisturizer at night. What do you think of it?
It is the genes vitamin E creme. It is in a big yellow tub
Thank you so much Susan!🥰
Thank you so much for this video!!! It’s came at such a perfect time I was just online shopping for some new skin care products. I also love the headband !! Where’s it from ?
Anti acne? Yes please 🙋🏻♀️
Hi... This was very informative - thank you! Could you please do a morning drugstore routine for acne prone skin too please? 🥰
Guuurl ! I can’t stop staring @ your headband ! 🥰❤️😍😘
The Cetaphil Daily Oil-Free Hydrating Lotion moisturizer is my go-to in the summertime! So glad it's getting the props it deserves!
I will try this next summer👍🏾
I will try this next summer👍🏾
Avene Cleanance Women Smoothing Night Cream is one of the best products for acne prone skin. And definitely under 50 bucks.
Yes I have that cleanser, yeahhh.
I’d love this for dry skin!
Susan what are those cotton pads???!! So cool
I know we’re not traveling much right now but I would really love to see something on what you travel with skincare wise. I have a set legit skincare routine but struggle when traveling. Do you travel with all the products you usually use, do you opt for trial size products , etc. Very few of the products I regularly use come in travel sizes so I never know how to pack, but I have a week long vacation coming up and I’d love some packing tips.
This video was really helpful. I already use Differin at night. The night time moisturizer my dermatologist recommended cost over $120 for less than 2 ounces and I broke out a few times this fall when I used it. I have been using Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF 50 sunscreen in the morning after applying vitamin C since 2019 and it never makes me break out. I am ordering the two Cetaphil night time moisturizers you recommended in this video. THANK YOU SO MUCH for this recommendation. Cetaphil never makes me break out. I find all of your videos helpful, but this one is one I will save and revisit.
How do you like the Cetaphil Daily Moisturizer spf50? Are you still using it?
Which moisturizer is better for my boyfriend who doesn't want to feel like he has anything at all in his face
Love the prices of these! ❤️
i have pro acne skin but my face is very dry now because i use since 2-3 years harsh products like laureth sulfate. this video was very helpful to me. thank you
I use moisturizer before the adapelene gel because my skin peels!
Thank youuu!!! I was looking for something to treat my redness!!!
i love your videos please do for blackhead and textured skin rouine !!!!
Hi love you videos and your make up! 💕 Im in Australia and having trouble looking for adapalene. Do you have any other suggestion for acne treatment that is over the counter?
I love the Simple cleansing water! I've been using it for years. Edit: and I never knew it had niacinamide in it!
I just enjoy seeing her. ^.^
She's so cute!
Hi Susan. Do you happen to know if differin expires? I was given it as a prescription years ago and started using it but stopped. It has the best before date on it for next year. What do you think?
what can i add into this routine to help with dark spots and hyperpigmentation?
Hello ❤️ i’ve rosacea+acne prone skin and the Cetphil moisturiser has Butyrospermum Parkii Shea Butter, Cetearyl Alcohol, that how i know cloges the pores 😢 is that true or not ? I’ve la roche posay toleriane dermallergo fluid and it works really good for me. I just wanted to try Cetaphil but i’ m not sure about the ingredients :/
Thank you ❤️
Need one video about wishful skin by huda I want some throught
Wait, differin is a retinoid? So, do i not use the "Resurfacing Retinol Serum" in conjunction? This video is very helpful with the little details needed for us neebies. May we use the "Cetaphil Redness Relieving Night Moisturizer" in the AM routine also, or do you recommend another one?
I luckily already use these products minus the micellar water. I use the Clinique cleansing balm as my first cleanse. But, does this mean I shouldn’t be use BHA toner and Hylauronoc Acid essence? I only add these two products maybe 3 times a week. Am I overdoing it?
I think your brows look prettier without such heavy lamination :)
The Simple micellar water is great but as an acne prone girl myself I still prefer an oil cleanser. I actually use the oil cleanser from Simple and it's really awesome for my acne prone skin which has also been pretty dry because of the Differin gel I use. Really recommend their oil cleanser cos it's cheap, effective, cruelty free and vegan.
I use Retinol but never differin gel so would I still put it on after my moisturizer?
does differin also help with like pores, ageing, and other things tretinoin does?
I might be wrong but I thought you couldn’t use salicylic acid before differin/ retinol because it stops the retinoid from working ?
I was told not to use hyaluronic acid when using differen. Is this okay to use together?
The Muji cleansing oil for normal skin is the best. 15 dollars for 400 ml, no fragrance. It's very thin, emulsifies very well and rinses off easily. Follow with cleanser. Takes 3 minutes without tugging on your skin.
Does anyone know what the cotton pads she's using are? I love the pocket for your fingers, makes it so much easier to apply product!
I don’t love these cotton pads otherwise I would have said. The pockets break off all the time. Just using them because I already have them. 😛
I noticed the cetaphil has citric acid in it - is it a small enough amount that that is not a problem to mix with a retinoid? anyone know?
My question is when using liquerish root extract for it to help with redness does it work only while it's acually on your face or are there lasting effects ? Like is it something that has to be used every single day like hyaluronic acid in order for it to do anything ?
My personal review on the cetaphil oil frre moisturizer (the one in the green little bottle) that Susan features in her video:
My skin is oily and acne prone and this moisturizer only dried it out more. I would only say it is ok to use if you only live in a VERY humid area. It is not good at retaining moisture for more than 1 hour (again, personal experience). It can be used as a serum though. If you use on its own in a very dry environment you will end up with with dryer skin and with a annoying layer of the emollients ingrediens in the product that is left on your skin after the product dries completely.
Cerave had the same effect on me,perhaps why I got tiny bumps....dryness
@@Banana11128 yeah those things happen. I decided to stop using the cetaphil product i talked about because it was drying my skin so bad and i have oily skin. So i was left with dehydrated but oily skin (worst feeling ever). I believe it's because the product is just too light to hold onto water for a long time. I read only many people had the same experience.
@@luisfigueredo001 did you solve the oily dehydrated skin?
@@nicoleserbel9274 as soon as i stopped using that cetaphil product my skin did not feel dehydrated and tight anymore!
totally agree! the texture is similar to the glow recipe watermelon moisturizer (in terms of texture ) and susan has said this is a hydrator and the cetaphil is the same, it’s not occuslive at all
That cetaphil anti redness night is not easy to find. But beautypedia likes it.
Budget Dermatologist recommends LRP Toleriane double repair. Before & after adapalene
Thank you for making this ! I have question, I live in Canada and differin is prescription only. What can I use instead?
Retinol/retinoid
Is licorice root pregnancy safe? I have heard a lot of debate around this ingredient especially with respect to pregnancy..
I HAVE A makeup vanishing Balm. I Really good and it is anti aging .. I love it 😍😍😍😍 it's the Best product I have every tired in my intire live.
Please can you make a video on dry acne prone skin xxx
Love it
My teenage acne skin is so stubborn this didn’t help. I am seeing a derm and he prescibed adapelene gel .3% and clindamcin and Benzyol peroxide. My skin is so dry but I still have acne 😞 it’s getting better tho
I have purchased the differin gel, waiting to recieve it.
So we CAN use adapalene after a BHA cleanser???
Pro tip: use la roche posay adapalene. It ends up being cheaper in the long run for the same product as differin.
Wait what really? I thought they were the same price and same amount of oz...?
@@gabrielasbobadilla at least on Amazon the la roche posay adapalene will end up being cheaper 😉
do more affordable things videos please! especially affordable asian beauty
Can you please recommend a sunscreen also??
I have very dry, eczema prone skin with hormonal acne and a similar differin routine works for me.
After double cleansing I go in with a light lotion moisturizer first, then after it soaks in I use a benzoyl peroxide spot treatment on specific spots. Then, I use the differin. Then, ontop I use squalane oil to lock it all in.
I have tried this with heavier creams instead of the light lotion and squalane combo, but then the differin would pill.
I have been using differin for months now, and have not had any problems with it aggravating my eczema. I just make sure I don't bring it down to my neck. I did that once, and it was a mistake.
Differin hasn't aggravated my eczema either!
Susan do u use toner?
The cetaphil redness moisturizer was so nice and thick and hydrating but it broke me out a lot. I’m combination skin and don’t break out a lot because I’ve been on tretinoin for 5 years now and when I added that moisturizer I started breaking out in small surface level pimples like purging around day 3 and it didn’t stop until I stopped using it. Just a warning for those who might be break out prone. I think it was the Shea butter because the La Rosche Posay Lipikar moisturizer with shea butter did the same ☹️
Omg same here I was so sad because I really wanted to like it
@@Sasha_xo Don't be afraid, unless you know your skin doesn't like shea butter. Mine is acne prone and handles it just fine. :)
@@esotere I agree, it’s worth a shot. Not everyone will break out from it I’m just adding my own experience. Now I just use it on my hands, neck and chest in the evenings.
@@ambycarr1695 that’s a good idea I will use it for that! My skin likes Shea butter so it must be another ingredient in the cetaphil product that caused me to break out :/
That's what I'm nervous about too, I used the CeraVe night moisturizer with Shea butter and the same thing happened to me
A lovely video 🐎🌟🌟💜💜
What is. Good drugstore sunscreen,
Are there any good oil based cleansers at the drugstore?
Can anyone use that wash daily with chemical exfoliant?
Are these fungal acne safe?
i love your eyebrows.
The Alba Botanica Acne Dote line is amazing!!
I’m not one for buying anything high end. Everything comes from Walmart for my simple reasons of having rlly oily skin / sensitive skin. when I use a face wash It works for a good week. Then stops working. So I have wasted sm money on just face wash :( I’ll definitely give these products a try. 🥰
I think SA cleansers are not good to use before adapalene. Will check.
When I use the micellar water I find that I don't even need a cotton pad. I just cup some product in my hands and then apply to my face.
Same! Then I rinse off with water.
Will this routine work for a teen with acne.
I have sensitive skin thats why i wanted to use my salicylic acid in my cleanser i bought one and i just wash it for like 40-50 seconds and my face burned and it calmed like 3-4 hours later
Yay first... acne is MY PROBLEM!
What is the brand for the Cotten pad, please?
What do you think about using treatments when wearing masks every day? I used to use glycolic nightly but my skin was getting more and more inflamed so I had to take a break. I still have a lot of acne and irritation along my jawline and I would love some advice
I think you could have overexfoliated sadly :(
Its not about the masks, I have overexfoliated in the past and I can tell you, you need to be careful and gentle for your skin to heal
Maybe try it as a 2-3 times a week and see how your skin reacts? Or a super gentle exfoalitor if you wanna use it daily
Good luck, I know how discouraging acne can feel ❤
@@Sabrina-sc1db I have been on stronger treatments before too and irritation was always something i kept an eye on but it really did get 10 times worse when I started wearing the mask for 9hrs a day (work in retail). Just sticking with double cleanse and nourishing moisturiser for now hopefully its enough 🤞
I’m going to buy mostly everything in this video 😂
Whyyyy did it take me so long to try Differin (I’m 30)!!! I was so scared to see irritation or more acne right away but I saw improvement immediately the next morning!! My skin loves this stuff!! It’s going to be hard to stick to only a couple times a week to get used to it before using it more regularly.
Have you kept up with Differin? I'm so hesitant to try it because I've heard most people go through a really bad first few months of dryness and purging before your skin really starts to heal and then it's great. I'm 36, oily acne prone skin battling constant hormonal acne.
@@BelleMort6 same!! I’m 31 and have been dealing with hormonal acne foreverrrr! I actually just upgraded to prescription tretinoin. Honestly, I’m glad I started with Differin because I didn’t deal with the dryness and peeling when I switched to tretinoin. From my experience, I’d say go for it!! I kept my skincare very simple; first, a simple/gentle cleanser, then a simple/gentle moisturizer, and lastly the differin (now tretinoin). Patience and consistency is key.. the purge isn’t fun but it’s sooooo worth it after!! Take care 💓
@@jenniferh8800 That's so great to hear! Same for me, as far as the very simple skin care routine! It's calmed somewhat, but it's just not healing at all. So, the tretinoin (differin first) is the only active ingredient in your routine? Thanks for telling me there's light at the end of the tunnel!
Are there any drugstore oil cleansers you recommend?? I’m oily and acne prone and I’d love to find one at a drugstore price!
I personally use grapeseed oil
Cant get differin over the counter in Canada.
