Of course her face is redder afterward because they did extractions, lymphatic drainage, microdermabrasion, and gua sha. The “oiliness” people are complaining about is just how you look after a facial - extra moisturized, plus a thick layer of sunscreen to protect your fresh skin. As a dermatologist I can say that her skin looks WAY better. Hydrated, replenished, and the dullness is completely gone. I would expect her to look her best 24-48 hours post-facial. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Smol Fluff no she doesn’t. What she looked like after the facial was completely normal as she did have extractions done and more products to help he hydrated skin so her skin did look more oily. To judge that her skin looks worse from the after picture is honestly so pointless since the after pictures make you look bad because you’ve just had a bunch of products on your face. Idk if you’ve ever been for a facial but on the ones I’ve had I’ve always seen better results a day after the facial rather than immediately after it.

as a licensed esthetician I can say two things about this. she said that her skin barrier was compromised but insisted on using at least two or three exfoliation methods in one treatment. In my professional opinion she used too many procedures regardless. Also Lymphatic drainage is nice but going below the eyebrow/into the eyelid is dangerous and watching it made me cringe. I mean look if she’s doing celebrity facials with this treatment, a lot of us esthetician’s need to get out to Hollywood and show them what’s really up lmao.

This is kind of similar of what I perform on my patients, except the extractions are not done manually or using metal instruments on my patients because this type of technique breaks down collagen, instead I used an oxygenation machine that remove impurities such a blackheads, pimples etc..together with ozone treatments..I have done this type of facials on my patients and on myself for over 20 years using high grade Bio-Active medical grade equipment..The massaging techniques that this woman performs on her client is not practical or beneficial for the facial muscles because it could cause deformities on facial muscles, also the vacuum machine should never be used on the upper or lower areas of the eyes..Also if the skin barrier of the client is compromised, this type of facial was not a proper treatment for this client..it is an OBSERVATION!

Yes, I prefer this kind of treatment rather than spending $200 a jar on an expensive anti-aging product. The pricelist on my local beauty clinic, certified physician/dermatologist (I live in Jakarta, Indonesia):
    - Microdermabration $25
    - Ozone treatment (equal to ultrasonic spatula) $10
    - Microcurrent contouring ~$25
    - Diamond Microdermabration (equal to the suction procedure) $30
    - skin massage, extraction, collagen mask $20 (don't have that gua sha thing)
Total bill $110. I've tried everything except for the contouring.
Usually you don't have everything in one go. It's better to do 1-2 treatment several times, probs 3-6x for better & more permanent results. And you don't want go to red carpet the day after this treatment! Probably better after 2-3 days!

One thing that is true is that oily skin is often mistaken for being not sensitive and able to take a lot of punishment. A lot of guys have thicker oilier skin compared to women, so they can take a bit more exfoliation. But it is the truth that oily skin does need some gentleness and love and not stripping and heavy exfoliation. I don't know about the rest of these claims and techniques though, specifically gua sha and microcurrents in this matter. It seems to mak some sense. It’s the wording. Toxins aren’t “stored” above our eyebrows. The liver has most of the toxins in our body. And lymph nodes store “toxins,” and there are no lymph nodes above the eyes, only vessels. If you’ve ever gotten a certain vaccine, your armpits might’ve gotten a bit swollen; there’s a reason why that happens. Paying hundreds of dollars to get pressure on your face and micro-currents only changes your bank account. What do you get out of protecting lies or misinformation?

But at the end of the day it’s a scam because if they was about health, all you needed to do is steam your face, scrub your face, moisturize your face, use SPF, and massage your face. All of this glim-glam is nonsense. You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars a year to have decent skin.

And I’m more bothered at the lack of professionalism and cleanliness - it’s basic hygiene and you aren’t only paying for the high end products used - you’re paying for the service and hygiene provided by the facial therapist. Fair enough she did tie her hair back in the end - but putting gloves on and then touching your own hair before touching someone else’s skin in a facial is pointless, not to mention rather unpleasant and unhygienic- even if she had the cleanest hair going. It’s just basic “do-not-do” practice in the dermatology world...as well as many other professions.

You are correct. Collagen in any form cannot be absorbed through the skin. Their best bet is to use 0.5%-0.1% prescription tretinoin everyday for a minimum of one year since it’s proven to increase collagen production by up to 80% in a matter of 12 months. Great for acne too, but it’s some strong stuff. I came to the conclusion that I’d rather pay $90 every 3 months for my tretinoin than to pay hundreds on facials that don’t offer life changing results in the long run, expensive anti-aging creams that won’t work anywhere nearly as good as prescription cream, or botox/fillers since all fillers are very noticeable no matter how little is injected.

Wanlab face steamer from Amazon it cost 21$ and it come with face extraction tools it’s really safe and easy to use at home.
Make sure to steam your face once a week. (extract the black head only don’t go too hard you don’t need to scar your skin use mild strength) You need to wash your face before the extraction with two step.
First the oil base (you can try Kose they are very affordable product cost 9$ and it won’t break up your skin)
Second water base face wash. Krave beauty is the best one so far you can buy it from their website. But off course you can try CeraVe hydration face wash it’s really great.
After the extraction use sheet mask anyone you have something gentle, stay away from acid after extraction. Then lock your skin with your favorite moisturizer.
      Do it every weekend. 😊
