Great interview!!! Thanks so much for bringing this to the community. I am 90-95% recovered with brain retraining (spending lots of time with The Three Principles' understanding and recently DNRS) and want others to get understand that the symptoms come from the maladaptive overactive stress response and we all can get out of this so the body heals!!!! For some of us even with brain retraining it can take longer than 2 months (it has taken me quite a bit longer), but it is so worth it!

@@valentinaruseva7612 I was very analytic also (my first career was a lawyer). The problem with being analytical is it brings on a lot of overthinking where there is not an outside outlet (like work, etc.) for the thinking mind, which is the worst thing possible for CFS and and other stress illnesses like chronic pain, etc. DNRS has been so helpful. However, I started "brain retraining" before DNRS by spending lots of time with the Three Principles' understanding (books, youtube videos, online courses see innateevolution.com)and quieted my mind already and had made serious ground in my recovery before I started DNRS two months ago. I really learned that thinking about symptoms was the main thing that drove up the maladaptive stress response and really worked on that. (Check out John El-Mokadems' recovery story from 7 years of CFS--he did one thing (stopped thinking about symptoms) and recovered in 2 months breakthroughthat.com/cfs-audio/) He was interning for Three Principle coach Michael Neil so he was spending time with 3ps also). For me, however, as much as 3Ps helped me (as well as listening to Eckart Tolle's books and retreats on audible over and over) and as much as I had quieted my mind and was really great at mindfulness, recovery--although it was happening,--was slow. DNRS was amazing (I started really slow at 5 minutes a day as I found the rounds really tough at the start) as I could really direct my brain for a great day as I did my rounds first thing and also after lunch. DNRS rounds often (not always) really elevate my mood and my outlook, my symptoms go down, and I don't have symptom worries. It is basically an upwards spiral to full recovery, but recovery is usually never a linear process. Even though I still am dealing with some light symptoms like tinnitus, I feel amazing every day and know full recovery is just ahead. I am also full of gratitude every day as there was once a time I was dealing with severe CFS, POTS, and pain symptoms.

    • @evelinel.9827

In addition, many people who are successful with DNRS start out with a few coaching sessions. I purchased DNRS 3 years ago and never even started after watching all the DVDs as it didn't make much sense and seemed too difficult as sick as I was. I think I was able to get the hang of the program the last couple months on my own as I was already quite far along and already fully believed in healing through nueroplasticity. As I said above also, I started with 5 minute rounds and the practice just organically built so I easily can do rounds of 20-25 minutes now. I also suggest you go to the DNRS forum as there are two people who posted about 30 of their recorded rounds (Nurse Jill and Nikki) and listening to their rounds for the first month before I did my own was key for me also.

I want you to know you’re not alone in missing out on your 20’s. You have so many more good years, and I’m so glad that you’ve managed to find your way to being in good health once again! God bless you!
Also look at it like this, you in your 30’s are being very health conscious whereas those who haven’t gone through a health scare yet are probably still drinking vodka on the weekends with the buddies over fried foods. They’ll have a health scare later when it’s harder to make changes. You have MORE good years filled with health consciousness than your non-ill peers. I hope that helps and doesn’t make you feel worse.

totally get the bit about folks who push hard but I do know a few who were chilled and are chilled now (with ME/CFS) and I wonder whether part of this is that we are talking about a poorly regarded and poorly understood invisible disease/condition that slowly and silently debilitates
this meant for me and most of the folks I know with it that we did not have our peers at work understanding the grueling struggle that was commencing and then heightening for us.
for that reason I don't think many can get away with *not* having to push and fight once the disease is rolling unless they have millions in investments to live off so they don't need to answer to their workplace, family and community about why they aren't "providing" or "contributing" when they are struggling to retain information, stand, hold up a book or heavy pen!

Fantastic interview. These interviews can do something that most doctors, therapists, coaches,... fail to do - plant a seed for therapeutic interventions one may have been resistant to or wasn't able to connect with the dis-ease.
I actually wrote a bunch of text here, in regards to what therapists and doctors fail to do but I accidently clicked it away haha. What I still want to mention though is: I think it's very traumatizing and confusing to people when doctors and therapists don't take the symptoms and limitations of people serious, treat them like children and put everything into the psychological basket and then they don't even get the time and tools to work on it. Obviously that will trigger people to resist, like what are they thinking will happen.

Raelan, can you relate to what he is saying as far as the constant stress/being in fight or flight, etc? I definitely can but I feel like I simply cannot relax and meditate when the stress gets too high. It's similar to getting yourself to fall flat on your face, seems like your body just reflexively resists it. From what I've seen it sounded like your recovery relied primarily on physical strategies, right?

    • @RaelanAgle
      @RaelanAgle  4 роки тому +5

I can definitely relate to his story. I had physical strategies for sure but also mental ones. When I summarized it all in my book I devoted 2 chapters just to the stress reduction and mental health aspect for me. It wasn't my whole equation, but in retrospect I wonder if I could have recovered faster if I had devoted more time to this aspect of healing.

Be really careful with the Lightning Process. The UK's Advertising Standards Authority has sanctioned Phil Parker for claims made that the Lightning Process can help ME.
The most recent guidelines in the UK on treating ME reject the Lightning Process as a treatment.

I have been wondering recently (I have CFS since 8 years myself) about the personality patterns that would put people at higher risk for developing CFS in the first place: who isn't chronically stressed in western capitalist civilizations? I mean it's a way of living that is based on achieving more and more. Yes I can see those patterns with my personality. But I can also see them with everyone around me. And I think it's clear by now that this ways of life, how we treat ourselves and the world around us is causing more and more chronic health condition. Especially when we compare it with places of the world where this way of living and being in and with the world hasn't reached yet. Maybe people there die of other more acute infections or there is no data collected. But still who isn't chronically stressed in western civilizations.

@TunesAndToys hello, im currently in a 3mnth 'relapse' why? Because i was driving putting in 2hrs work with mums 3 horses, driving back home 15miles twice weekly, studying 2-4hrs a day n i felt so good, i pushed myself harder, put pressure on myself re study, didnt give myself a day off in 3weeks doing all of that ontop of housework, walks, yoga etc n considered taking on a 3rd session with horses (mum has hurt her back)
So finding balance n moving too fast too soon is still a thing 🤭
Im in therapy biweekly last 2-3yrs, which has helped re childhood ptsd, consistency, self sabotage, thinking -stopped calling myself incompetent n boy did i resist stopping! 🤣
The study is pre course study. Wanted to start course in march after i recover from upcoming unrelated operation, get the theory in my head, so travel n practical less overwhelming. Its foothealth, self employed, so ill have full autonomy n if i can get/do 10clients weekly, ill b off benefits
Now, after 3mnths in flat, buckling down to paleoketo diet, meditation -im still resistant n my weakest least consistent thing, but doing it via tripp app on vr headset is 🤯. Doing approx 30mins lazy yoga, n all my housework n selfcare, inc sporadic gratitude diary so not a relapse at all vrs when i could literally do nothing xD usually these dips take days to weeks, not months xD
Emo/mentally these 3mnths been challenging; "what if this is as good as i CAN get?" Im still holding hope n determination for full recovery, but thinking on 'plan b's' mum thinks itll b a half to 3/4 recovery n nans given up all hope. I will NEVER EVER stop trying to figure out how iv contributed to my dips n relapses. Since oct 2018, when i REALLY started doing 'all the things', theres always been reasons/causes be it my reactions, my thinking, lessons to learn etc n mum made me cry today explaining the WHY shes so proud of me, that i dont give up when i fall 😍
Tbh biggest thing im NOT doing to help myself is consuming ukraine war n geopolitics vids 8+hrs every day n theres some family drama wiv aunt, upcoming op after failed 1st op last feb n finance stuff bothering me n my nervous system n thus prob why im taking longer than usual
2 yrs ago did 2weeks in singapore for my 40th with stepdad n surprised myself at what i could handle.
Oct/nov last year, carrying 15kg caught 2 trains to bristol hospital n helped stepdad get back home on public transport, after 2nights in bristol BnB, including 30-40mins walk at either end of journey with 15kg weight, plus stepdads' 10kg on wheels. Albeit i 'crashed' after both adventures, once home n settled, but i DID do it! 🤩
      Hope that helps

Look at sheet pan meals. Not really any prep. You just put a piece of chicken or salmon on a pan along with veggies and cook in the oven. Really easy. Hope that helps.

I just got a slow cooker so I can make one big effort a week and make 6 meals in one go.
Just a lot of chopping on the day you do it.
