Steven Wilson is an incredible artist. He has been likened to the David Bowie and with good reason. This such a brilliant moving piece, the super animation videos with this is excellent. He has gorgeous melodies, and is the true spirit of modern prog rock.
Well. Congratulations to you both for getting through one of the most challenging but yet beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard in my life. Special mention for Jana. You rock girl. You nailed that explanation of the song better than anyone I have yet listened to who has reviewed that song including myself! You were bang on with it and without delving too deeply feel that much of what you said was from experience. It’s been a really good experience to watch both of you appreciate that music from Steven today and as an artist I rate him as highly as anyone I listen and react to. So well done both of you and enjoy the rest of your Sunday together. All the best Dave✅✅
This is the first track I ever heard from Steven Wilson, including his work with Porcupine Tree or his remastering work. I first heard it either from Dr. Doug or Jim Newstead, when I stated how beautiful I thought it was a commenter replied that I should check out the official video. I see others have recommended a watch of the official video as well, and I'm glad Nathan has the intent to show it to you. Definitely follow up on that when you can. 💖
Lovely review. Steven Wilson uses this on his soundtrack for the video game 'The Last Day Of June' on the track of the same name, it's instrumental only.
Wasn't this the song where at the HCE concerts SW would say "This is probably the saddest song I've ever written. And *that's saying something!*" 😄 Jana, when you're ready for it the video is worth a look. Oh, and Ninet Tayib ftw. I wish SW would work with her more.
Good morning guys. I will be honest, I fell asleep during the song and had to start over. Not a favorite. Maybe the subject matter has something to do with it. Thanks for the reaction. 😎
Watch the animation that goes with it. changes perspectives. The live rehearsal version from the Royal Albert Hall where Ninet sings most of the lead vocals is also really powerful and certainly not something you could sleep through.
Great reaction, Jana is an amazing listener, the video for this song makes it even better with
her power!!!

Steven Wilson is a musical genius.
Great review!!!

There's also a live version of Steven, Ninet, and the band practicing this at the Royal Albert Hall which is a must-see.

Grief, is the price we pay for Love
Is there any chance that we could see you shuffle the songs? Just curious : )
We are definitely talking about hopefully doing this 👍

Hi Jeff. I hope you're health is improving.
I don't find this song that great on its own, but with the music video it is a piece of art.
No problem! Hope it gave you a good nap 😉
