Careful brother. The filmmaking police will kick down your door for using the word "cinematic" in a youtube video ;) Joking aside, I loved this video and your explanation as to WHY you want to use an anamorphic lens.
I completely agree. I'll probably always use m43 because of the image quality and flexibility. However, $3k for one lens when I could get 2 lenses if it were EF mount is VERY limiting. I don't know why companies limit the user base by using limiting mounts.
SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEsh another BANGER. After watching the video, that lens is not the only thing that's anamorphic 😜😜😍💥🔥🔥
One thing you can do is just shoot in 4k and set the anamorphic squeeze to 1.8x on your monitor. Then just desqueeze in post, rather than using the inbuilt 1.33x
I've looked into anamorphic lenses and definitely appreciate the look of them. At the moment, I'm not shooting enough narrative content to justify the purchase, but will hopefully change that in the coming months.
Broke my heart on this one! Are you using a speed booster? Or is it micro 4:3? Was looking at some micro mounted anamorphic and was curious about the cropping effect it has on anamorphic. If you were to buy another small rig would you still go BMPCC?
I own two 6ks, the tokina 11-20 and that pictor set.. I so wanted a vazen but opted out, I'm moving away from 43 as well. Started with the GH4 and ended on the GH5. I think I'll get an ISCO ultra star paird with a Contax Zeiss and fitted out with a Rapido kit. Will take a bit of time to get the parts and setup but should be worth it. Just gotta make some extra coin, currently in the process of building out my grip trailer. Thing is taking FOREVER..
Awesome set. I have the same zoom kit! Tell me more about this lens setup your building. I’d like to know more. The process takes a long time bud. Years! Keep pushing!
I've actually considered shelling out the cash for a Komodo just to use the Vazen RF mount line that is about to drop. The biggest drawback here for me is the MFT mount -- I really, really wish there was a solid EF anamorphic option to use with the 6K
There are EF/RF adapters but the lens won’t cover a s35 image circle. This lens was designed specifically for the micro 43 sensor. However this lens can adapt to cameras like the Komodo (s35 sensor) because of its flange distance between the sensor and rear glass element. If I adapted this lens to the BMPCC 6K the distance between sensor and rear glass element would cause vignetting.
@@jasoniscx4 yeah I have the Komodo and this lens will be here soon, it didn’t fully cover the sensor until they released the 4:3 6K anamorphic mode. I was just trying to give a suggestion with possibly purchasing the RF mount.
@CrZy6th Yeah, it trips me out why BM wont give us 4:3 mode in 4K? 😕 I'd probably keep it. Totally aware and thanks for the suggestion. Appreciated. As you can tell I'm a BM guy lol

Another reason I’m selling mine as well. My clients don’t care to see their content shot this way. It’s a specialty look that for sure.

Do you need a EF to RF adapter ?

The only really good EF options that I know of is Atlas but lenses cost upward of around 12K per lens.
Beautiful character indeed! Can't justify the price but I'd really like to get a true anamorphic one day.
Hey bud! Seems to be a mutual feeling with us all. Hard to justify. Beautiful lens.
Is there not an adaptor for RF to EF?

Dude, I just sold this lens last week for the same reasons. I owned it for like a year but it had to go because I stopped using it.
Yeah, sucks huh. I’d keep it if it covered a s35 sensor. It hurts.
Hi buddy great review first of all i love the video ... is it me or no i see a bit of noise grain on the footage
Thanks! 🙏 you are seeing grain. I use 35mm emulated film grain.

What anamorfreak lens to get for S35 EF mount?
There’s a few out there right now just not affordable yet. As soon as something pops up I’ll make a video 👍
I hate to be “that guy” but Terminator 2 was shot super 35, not anamorphic
Your right. Good thing I started this video with a disclaimer. Lol thanks for pointing that out.
