The ie200 and ie600 have terrible cable's which are too rigid and actually "spring open" and pull the eartip out of your ear. I have owned both and I had to use different cable's to make the eartip stay in my ear. As for the ie600 is has the "most detail" I have ever heard from an IEM.
the fact that you need either a specific after market cable OR need to physically alter the IEM to use a better MMCX cable on all of the IE family is a friggin crime.
Sennheiser made great mics pre 2018 sale to Samsung. Their iems were Always priced much too high. It’s crazy when you can get an Iem for $50 from Chi-Fi that crushes these. This is a statement coming from someone who has used iems onstage since their inception. Actually using these onstage, I can suggest at least 20 iems that cost from $20-$50 a pair that are much better than these.
Seems even the $700 IE 600 is plagued with this problem of intermittent cutting of sound in one channel. I was very keen on getting a pair but the disturbingly high ratio of one star reviews on Amazon (17%) all reporting this caused me to re-holster the credit card. The sad thing is everyone raved about the sound. Sennheiser service in attending to complaints also said to be underwhelming by many. Pity really, so much good work undone by poor QC.
From low budget to high budget, their built quality is worst.. As i used three cx 180 earphones, till I am using one with scrambled wires. Soundstage unbeatable

@@imwhatsnew Thanks!
Great Review.
the review is great, but I think as you are serving the content to audiophiles and audio enthusiast. better mic/sound quality would be much appreciated. watching with HD800s at moderate volume it sounds compressed/clipping. it's not that distracting or anything but I think it's one of the things you can fix to improve the production quality. great job!
Thank you! I was thinking the same thing. Using a rode wireless go right now but perhaps a better lav input would serve me well here.
You’re insane, these IEMs are great. The only thing bad is the cable. The QC alone is worth spending slightly more than Chi-Fi cheap crap
These really sound like my ideal IEMs… the cable is such a shame really
Hi, I like your reviews. Have you also tried any of the other ie line? ie300, ie600, and ie900?
ie300s are discontinued
@isca10 i feel they discontinued it because it was too cheap compared to the bigger siblings. I EQ mine so slightly and the sound transforms into something that's way above $300. I bet with great EQ the ie300 can easily sound better the ie600 with the stock tuning, something the ie200 can never do.
I’m so confused with this IEM. Maybe they need a revised version without the bass port and a better cable.
just a better cable and better connector and a little less high treble will be fine tbh...and maybe a bit of a price drop(which wont happen).
The IE200 and me? Like a cross vs. a vampire. After the transferring the consumer division? Big influx of cash? The ruin of Sennheiser?
Do u have a recommendation for this ie200 price point? I already ordered it but im looking for other reviewer.
Loads of recommendations under that price. Xuan NV, hexa, mp145 etc..
@@imwhatsnew hi thank you for your recommendation but i already got the hidizs mp145. I. just want a new comfort iem that premium sound or polish sound. For long time usage because mp145 is so big in my ear hehe but the sound is polish
The problem with ie200 their mmcx connector pretty unique isn't? Can't use aftermarket cable i think
Yeah... apparently if you break the little ring around the connector you can use an aftermarket cable. I haven't tried it though
The worst thing about the cable is that the headphone uses an MMCx-l instead of an mmcx cable
Easy to swap to a different mmcx cable?
Should be ..haven't tried though.
@@imwhatsnew I just heard in the past they made their connectors different
It's proprietary. 🤢
Feels like it's a smaller version of mmcx ...might not be easy to find replacements..they do this proprietary stuff with some of their mics as well.
maybe i m saying something strong.. but i think would be better for sennheiser to not even step into audiophile iems.. and even with cans... only the hd 600 is a great one
It's unfortunate because they were so close to making it great
@@imwhatsnew but as you reviewed.. Is more about the brand.. Thats why the high price.. But like bose and sony the real worth price is half as what we pay... The cinese companies are completely destroyng this famous brands in terms of quality sound...there will be some not audiophile willing to pay a lot just becouse they can t go wrong with sennheiser.. Are so mistaken
hey friend, the IE200 and moondrop kato, which sounds better?
Hi, the Kato is a bit warmer sounding but also has more lively upper mids which is nice...treble is smooth too and doesn't have any major peaks. I think the Kato would suit many people's tastes over the ie200
@@imwhatsnew Thank you first for replying me🙏🏻! Which do you think has better technicality, and also the bass? I am now considering to buy a wired iem, and one of these two might be my first option😄.
The ie200 and ie600 have terrible cable's which are too rigid and actually "spring open" and pull the eartip out of your ear. I have owned both and I had to use different cable's to make the eartip stay in my ear. As for the ie600 is has the "most detail" I have ever heard from an IEM.
The wires designed for musicians, not to be looked at. I notice this wire far less then any on my more expensive iems.
That's certainly an interesting point you make.
I've had ie80s for 5 years and now bought IE200 and they sound so bad and havo no base. Any idea why they are so bad?
The treble does feel cheap true
Bigger nozzle is always better. Fudge smaller nozzles it never fits.
Small nozzle can take bigger tips.. too big a nozzle limits it for smaller ears 🤷
@@imwhatsnew I have the blon no matter how big the tips are it never fits. Why? Because the nozzle is too small.
@@mokisan Nozzles are only too short.
@HT oh , I meant narrow not short...perhaps that's the issue ?
the fact that you need either a specific after market cable OR need to physically alter the IEM to use a better MMCX cable on all of the IE family is a friggin crime.
Never buy MMCX. They always break. Why do they sell them?
The IE300 also cut in and out, ita a design flaw!
Thinner cables actually work better for microphonics
Well, not in this case, apparently.
bravo bel video
From low budget to high budget, their built quality is worst.. As i used three cx 180 earphones, till I am using one with scrambled wires. Soundstage unbeatable
8 different credible reviews. All different opinions on the quality and value. Trying to find a good value new iem for something different than my etymotic er3se. But still want more of a reference style tunning, only a small hint of v tuning.
Closest thing I can think of is the 7hz zero. But it has its limitations.
If u like ie200 like dis!!.. Wait untill u hear the kings of 7mm dd. Ie600. peace!
I've heard the ie600. Way too much treble presence for me.
Hope u used the stock tips cuz its in the tunin needs.
Still bright for me
Ie600 has even more trebles
So no go for me....
hexa has bad qc like all chi fi. But ie600 has too bad qc((
ie200... just save for the ie300 it's usually 200 bucks now
DIY cables are better than this
Sennheiser ie200; normies' blon bl03 :D
Bro is always delivering what I wish for 🤌🏼, wanted a comparison with hexa, and I got it
