Cory/Aquarium Co-Op, I'd recommend feeding your store bettas with NorthFin Betta Bits, Fluval Bug Bites, or New Life Spectrum betta pellets - these are ALL far superior to Hikari Betta BioGold (chock-full-o-crap-fillers) /other commercial brands which are chock-full-o-filler and/or toxic preservatives.
oink ooink I’m talking about how petco and pet smart have their bettas in even smaller plastic cups with no filtration or aeration. These tanks those bettas are in are only temporary and provide more than enough space.
As a pet store employee, at a store that uses those tiny cups, it makes me soooooo happy to see this setup. No matter how many times we do water changes, it can never compare to a system that provides filtered and heated water.
I love how you keep finding ' problems ' within the hobby and then solve them.. I had exactly the problem you have solved here. .takes me weeks or more of hunting through various stores to find each betta I choose.. and this setup would solve that problem completely! Man I would spend HOURS in your store....every week !!!! *sigh* maybe someone uk side will see this and copy it!! Keep up the wonderful work guys 😁👌
Weaboo Nation Yes, but they still exist. If we just ban all pet stores, there’s nowhere else for them to go. I have an idea; instead of complaining on a video of people legitimately trying to sell animals in good conditions, protest against organizations that are actively harming these animals or endorsing their poor treatment. Like, puppy mills. Maybe PetCo or something, I dunno.
Love it! Wish I had an awesome dedicated fish store like yours locally. I’ve recently become obsessed with Hellboy bettas! Hope to get one someday. Thanks for the content! Always love seeing Dean!
i always tend to go for the saddest oldest residents. so even with that wide selection of healthy fish i would probably pick the little one at 4:13 to the left. it gives me more satisfaction to make a sad one happy, rather than just getting one bc it’s pretty. beautiful bettas! u have a great system!
I love this! Thank you for being so thoughtful and caring for your bettas! They're displayed so beautifully I would be there for hours having a hard time deciding lol!
The one you didn’t know the coloration of was is a cellophane color! I love those kinds 😄 characterized by semi-transparent fins and semi-transparent body with a slight hue. Beautiful!! If I didn’t already have a betta I’d definitely buy him.
I love these! The only problem I’ve found with them is if a betta decides to jump, either into the egg crate at the back or across into another betta’s tank (had to move one particular one into a normal tank as the little guy was always in a different tank picking a fight) and for some reason I’ve had one setup where the black backing has almost peeled off from misuse or wear and tear. I just wish I had more of these setups though😂
Thank God, no small plastic cups, plus I assume that they are all kept at the same temperature, great job Cory, that is taking care of living beings the right way.
@@wynja77 Yes it is completely different thing if you are making money. Then you can keep animals any way you want to. No tank is too small for a fish etc.
Very nice 👍 I hate seeing stores with tiny cups occupied by sick Bettas in gross water. This is a beautiful alternative. And every Betta looks happy and healthy. Fresh water and a little bit of wiggle room does wonders for these amazing Betta Fish. Thank you! Very pleased!
OMG!!! this is literally my dream! Like to own an aquatic shop with a betta display that beautiful!!! I currently have a dumbo and koi spawn ah would love to expand my business to something like this one day!
@Aquarium Co-Op, the best thing about these racks, it makes it look clean and professional. Compared to cups that looks like you are just selling stuff second-hand. Doesn't convey professionalism in the same manner. Just that subtle change can make hell lot difference to the buyer since they will subconciously think you are taking quality over quantity etcetera. The only complaint I have, is the spacing between the racks. Try to reduce it. Use black plastic clamps to keep them tight.
Hey guys! Great to see Australia contributing to your store. I'm an Aussie girl who loves your podcasts and UA-cam channel. Will definitely drop by if I ever visit the US.
Corey, wish your shop was close to me! If you ever sold fish online I’d only buy from you. Your the best source of knowledge period.... keep up the great work
Places going to card only systems are doing it because of the low volume of cash customers. It costs labor to keep a cash drawer -- counting the drawer, maintaining the equipment etc. Not to mention human error, potential to be robbed. Cards are easier and more accurate...even if you lose a percentage off a card transaction. Way less problems to worry about.
Use these systems often in a store I work at, but every morning we go in we've got bettas that jump during the night.. bottom tray is called the betta area if they don't end up on the floor..
I'm sure sales of Bettas are higher in your store because the fish are active, they can be seen clearly in the tanks, it will be much easier to keep them healthy, and there is a good lighting system. You guys do things the right way for the fish, and for your business.
Litterly couple of hours ago visited Hobby Fish shop near Milton Keynes UK with my 4yo daughter. They have exactly same system on the wall and first thing she pointed at was them bettas saying wow dad look at that. Small tanks but fish seems lively, happy and healthy and now I know why and how - sump underneath is running the rack. Thanks, good stuff.
Totally agree Sometimes, its just that one individual betta that u want. Recently, I saw this marbled mustard gas plakat betta at a pet store (A store called Pet Lovers) that had an interesting color (mustard gas color with black tipped fins and bone white around his head). I decided to look for a “proper” mustard gas as he wasn’t looking all to good health wise but after 2 days scouring the places I knew sold good betta, I found nothing like him. At the end of day 2, I gave up and realised that he was “my” mustard gas and gave him a nice home. He’s my little Build A Betta and glad to say, a month later, he’s improvements are amazing. Just today I finally got him to flare at my finger.

The beta setup at Aquarium Co-Op looks awesome! If i was local i would buy one because you make them look so good. Dean has a point with the other stores that have them in plastic cups. You cant really see the real beauty of this fish in a plastic cup or small cup size bowl and generally keeps walking by.

You actually take the time to quarantine so you're selling your customers healthy fish. So jealous of anyone that gets to shop at your store.
I actually told my local Pet** and Pet***** about these racks. I've had to mention to the employees more often than I'd like that the cups are really dirty, or this one is sick or flat out had to bring dead ones over to their sink area for them to dispose of. Also...the teeny tiny way too small betta babies aren't able to eat the pellets they feed. That has been my biggest complaint with them. The bettas are still in cups, still dirty, still sick...but I'm glad to report that my local Pet** is no longer bringing in the tiny babies. Small steps but it's something, and something is better than nothing. You're doing a great job Cory, as always.
If I could afford it, I would have a house full of those. Only I would want the tanks to be bigger. I rescued my first betta a little over a year ago. Then I became addicted to having bettas. They are surprisingly social. Mine love to chase a laser light just like cats do. And they love attention.
hey cory love the video, i work at my lfs and we have had one of these systems for a few years and we love it, they are truly superior to any other way of keeping them for sale. hope you guys have a great day
Use a small clip to make where you left of feeding in case you get interrupted. Give them like an alligator clip with a small sign on it. That way they can come back and know where they left off.

It's great to see bettas being taken care of properly in a store and not being crammed into those tiny plastic cups, great work Cory.
Sailfin Aquatics exactly, this is how it should be, but unfortunately that’s not the case. So sad

My local fish store just got a small wall of these put in, I’m really excited for them to be cycled so I can go buy a betta from them. 😁
I work at a PetSmart and they won't let us do this, our store wants too
It’s amazing how much healthier those bettas look than your average fish store’s.
It really is! They just look so much more alive. Kind of like they’re actually enjoying life.

Wow shrimps must be a pretty cool store
Where can i buy these display setup
In Australia 90% of all chain pet shops use these aqua one systems

oink ooink Wow, a pet store sells animals for profit? What a surprise.
oink ooink What would happen to all of the animals left behind?
RainbowRose pet store animals are bred, their not from the streets. They breed the animals in the smallest enclosure, then given to chain stores.
Weaboo Nation Yes, but they still exist. If we just ban all pet stores, there’s nowhere else for them to go. Now what we need is for someone to design a similar system with 2.5s or 5 gallons so i can build a wall of them in my room!!!
Those systems already exist. You could make your own. They typically have them in big chain pet stores/aquatic stores.
I would love to have a hundred bettas in my room.
