Shout out to the BBQ steak house guy he really gave an in depth explanation and a very local one too
He seems so knowledgeable about bbq too I wish they had more on his process
You can tell the passion he has for his profession. So much more different to what you get in the UK as it's just a case of get your food, and leave
@@The1TRex1 everywhere has their own places you just gotta go local and find the right cooks passion fuels perfection and passion is found everywhere
I don't think Randy like his BARBQ He Hardly touched it.
That was awesome. I love people like that who know and enjoy their work.
As a native of Texas, and Lockhart (where Black's originated) Thank you for visiting us!! Looks like you had fun.
Honestly I respect that you took that 1-2 hour walk. Texas is so big that I can assure you like 99% of the people would’ve grabbed an Uber to go where they needed to lol
That's the European way 😅
I noticed they don't like walking in USA well not everyone obviously but I remember reading someone say "is 30mins a short walk home I cant fathom walking that far in the US" They could not believe that was considered a short walk home lol
@@olliered9924 It depends on the time of year. Walking in Texas in August is brutal. It is usually over 100F/38C in mid to late summer, -- we had 54 days over 100F last summer. In the brief periods in Spring and Fall when the weather is good, people are out walking, playing with friends and their dogs, and spending as much time outdoors as possible.
Walking in the USA is ironically only common in really big cities or really small towns. Both for the same reason... because you can get to a lot of different stuff in a fairly small area. I used to walk like 40min each way to work but that was in Alaska and I was there less than a year so I didn't want to buy a car. xD
He was walking for the video. 99% of people in Austin aren’t making UA-cam videos.
As an American (Pennsylvania) the idea that someone has never had BBQ is shocking.
Glad you enjoyed it!
As a Texan... the idea that he *left* half a dang beef rib instead of getting a togo box... that is what is shocking. That thing heats up just fine in a microwave.
We don’t have BBQ in the UK, nothing like the US anyway…
@@branroper we do have some smokehouses in London but nothing as authentic as this looks, I'm hungry now!
This just shows how much you live in a bubble. It's a self own
Im American and I never had it 😵💫
Randy, I'm really happy to see you doing this kind of content, I know it isn't particularly popular these days but I hope you continue to do more.
What I’ve learned from a few UA-cam coaches is that vlogs will always be great content but only if it’s made by a creator with an already established audience but not so much good for an unknown UA-camr, so they’ll be dope for Randy, hope he makes more too!
I do love this, but he needs to start branching out doing eating challenge, videos
This exact content is popping off right now what are you talking about?
@mxxke2334 a month ago, it wasn't. Vlog content with minimal edits fell off ages ago, only recently has the less edited content popped off.
Love this content. Always great to see a foreigner visit the US. Randy, keep doing what you’re doing.
Randy found out there's more to the U.S. than LA, Vegas, and NYC before the Sidemen did. 😂
Honestly lmao
@@gopald9962 Pretty sure they know New Orleans, Texas (Houston, Austin, or Dallas), Atlanta, Seattle, Miami, Nashville, Charleston, etc. would bang views. But they're also British and they know if they're travelling all the way to the U.S. to film a bunch of videos Vegas and LA are always going to be sunny and warm.
Would be hilarious to see them in the U.S. during January doing a "Sidemen Hot v. Cold Holiday" in like Miami and The Adirondacks of NY though.
@@liamengram6326the sidemen in my hometown in Louisiana would be so damn sick
I love the fellas but they wack for hating on the U.S.
@@Joeclone2001 The funny thing is if they plonked down in the U.S. for like 2 months they could film so many vs. videos that would bang. Just start grabbin cities or regions. New Orleans, Atlanta, Austin, Charleston, Nashville, Asheville, Denver, The Hamptons, etc. and do some cheap v expensive. You can even do some cheap v expensive road trips in-between. Or cheap v expensive college football (could even have editions like SEC edition, Big10 edition) and what not. In 2 months they could easily film 20 videos and then drip feed them for when they wanna take a break for a week over the next 3 or 4 years.
Just found your channel via a recommendation on UA-cam. Great content, can’t wait to go through the back catalogue. Keep up the good work fella! Can’t believe you got to meet Hitch
It’s a short one since I’ve started vlogging recently! Got other channels too
@@Randolph2 will check them out
I think vlogging is good for ya Randy, especially at this pace. You seem more comfortable on the camera now and your personality is coming through more. Big love Randy!!!
Randy these vlogs light up my day thanks for the content your making ❤
❤️❤️❤️
I'm loving the American vlogs that really hope he comes back and keeps making this type of content. We can follow him around the country while he hits up cool places and eats great food
Cool vlog and love seeing the OpTic HQ looking forward to your Around the Bar episode 🔥
Randy I live in Lubbock Texas, watching you explore the state has been so entertaining for me and I hope you are having a good time here.
Wreck em tech!
Damn sucks that u live in Lubbock tho.
Fort Worth here and I’m also loving it!
randy to lubbock trip?? get him some evie maes 😂
@@gremlinbluesDallas here as well 👋🏽
6:00
this dude is a trip! would love to get him a drink as thanks for working so hard at his job
These are my absolute fave UA-cam vids to watch atm! Literally waiting for the next Randy vlog! I love whatever it is, especially the longer ones where you just talk
The young man who explained about the barbecuing method was very kind and informative.
Does anyone have any information on where he could possibly be from? He has a wonderful accent (sounds almost Amish Germanic to me).
I love that he’s nice enough to do all that in-depth explaining.
Idk where the cook is from but I wanna have an hour long convo with that dude. The way he talks is so different I love it 🥹
The best thing about Texas is whether your going East, West, North or South the BBQ is delicious and different in every part.
The Tex-Mex is out of this world just visit any food truck or mom and pop restaurant you’ll be happy.
He sounds Amish.
Randy is actually such a chill guy
Being a OpTic fan since like 2012, first time seeing their 'new' HQ via a Randy vlog. Love it!
I love how the Cook at 6:50 talks.
I thought the same I couldn't recognize it
I think he’s autistic
@@Shifty26 It's basic Stonerese
YO Randy. Not really watched your content before but have dipped in and out of a few of the Sidemen/Troops content over the years as well as the podcasts you guys have.
Always thought you came across like a really cool, down to earth guy, and these vlogs really show that! Enjoying every one so far, keep 'em coming!
The guy talking about the BBQ reminded me of Pete from disjointed
So,happy to see you in Austin and other places. I hope your mental health improves. Blessings to you and welcome here in USA.
Need to see an OpTic and Sidemen collab, literally my two childhoods lol
Im so proud of you randy keeping strong and continuing doing videos despite your break up not everyone knows how hard it is going from living with your child to going to only seing them every now and again ive been through it and the transition is tough ..keep going mate ❤
That tour of the BOH of the Texas BBQ joint was so interesting. Never thought I’d ever be so focused & intrigued by some guy explaining how to cook brisket & sausages ahaha.
tell you one thing… BBQ beats jellied eels and/or haggis all day every day
You didn't have to tell us that its your first time, we seen you eat a rib with a fork 😂 first person in the history of texas to do that haha glad you enjoyed it!
Love the vlog! Really dope to see you collab with Hitch can’t wait to watch that podcast. Also as an OpTic fan this was so cool to see the headquarters in this much detail
As a Texan whos been watching ya for a while and just had to move back home to Dallas, with support from my family, from Nashville after a bad breakup (when i've been away from family for over five years), keeping on going, keep on posting. You're a fucking amazing person and individual giving everyone smiles whenever you go and whenever you post. Love ya and keep up the good vibes my man
Hey crazy I'm from Nashville living in Dallas much love brother
I acctually love watching these chill solo vlogs, espically whilst im just editing and working on uni stuff. Thanks Randy
I live in Texas and you honestly never get tired of BBQ Terrys is the best
Terry blacks? I think ive heard of that place. I saw one in Austin one time
the dude who gave the tour of the BBQ def knows what he’s doing. He gave you good details about BBQ and sounds like he’s been doing it for years. Good choice picking that place i kinda want to try it now. I’m also glad you tried Texas BBQ, i’m from Texas and miss it so much and happy you enjoyed it.
he sounded so offended when someone mentioned the Tongs lol
Local Texan here. I can say that the PitMaster knew exactly what he was talking about and described BBQ the best way possible. Cheers 🍻
Love the British manners coming through in a BBQ place. Knife and fork, deadpan expression despite your eyes going "HOLY F**KBALLS THAT'S TASTY!" 🤣
I kept whispering for him to pick it up and dig in!
I like the dude giving the tour, he's cool. Not a native Texan for sure, what accent is that? Canadian? Amish? FLDS? Chill dude!
Love seeing people experiencing new things and loving them. Keep traveling! Show us more mate
I really enjoyed the part with the guy at the smokehouse. Man just speaks with nothing but love for his craft.
Really like the classic vlog style video. Very enjoyable. Keep it up Randy!
brother discovered bbq - good bbq is amazing for real. The look on your face as the texture and taste set in was great lol Was a good amount to take home leftovers. The guy talking about it has the right idea though. That's why bbq is different no matter where you go. So many different ways to cook it even if you don't consider seasonings or marinades. Smoking with different wood is the most common you'll come across in the US, but not the only way for sure.
The tour was cool! I'm glad he let you vlog parts of it.
I hope you enjoyed the food. Best explanation of cooking BBQ I've ever heard.
Guy who gave the tour was fantastic
Mann the food in America looks insane xD I love how every place in America has its own unique feel or look, like I know the UK has different cities towns ect but everywhere still looks & feels the same like no country is perfect and obviously America has its problems but most the people seem friendly & every place there seems so different which is cool
I had a friend ask me what it's like living here. I told him the best answer. Diversity, everything is diverse. From the food, culture, architecture, etc. It's a good and bad thing. But, here in America we make it work.
If you haven’t visited the US I recommend
Now you see why we're so fat here in the States 😂
Loved these Texas vlogs! Next time you’re in Houston, need to have a fan meetup!
Great stuff Randy I’m from massachusetts, family in texas keep doin you dub watching you explore the states everything happens for a reason
I live in Austin. You went to the right place Randy.
the guy showing you the brisket seemed so nice and friendly also what was that thing that was floating in the air at 9:38 in the top left corner? it kinda looked like a floating ball
If it had been a red ball strung on the power line, I would have said that it’s the marker used to warn low flying planes about the power lines in the area. It didn’t look red so, I’m not sure what it is . . . UAP?
That fella seems so nice to give you that talk
Seeing Davis in this made my day! Two of the best dudes on UA-cam
How TF is Randy so chill in the vids on his channel?... Then you see hm on any other channel and he is either sober screaming and dancing or drunk doing the same thing! Love you Ran-Dawg
I think he intentionally tries hard in other vids because he thinks hes not good in videos and video creation, but on the pods and these vlogs he's being way more himself.
Edit: it's working btw these are elite
Texan here and hope you enjoyed it fr, we do love our bbq down here 😅
New viewer and subscriber ! All the best!
Thank you DeeMan 😊
@@Randolph2yeah man no problem!🎉
Been to Terry’s many times. Live in Austin. You got one of the rarest and best items: beef rib.
Great choice. Green beans a nice choice as well.
Get a to go box because that's how we do it here. Take it back to your hotel and have more tonight while watching tv
Yeah honestly I wish I did, I forgot that was such a thing in America. Not that common over here
Remember in the states
Whatever you don't eat at the restaurant
You can take home with you
Ask for a to-go box
Never waste barbecue
Especially Terry blacks
Wow can’t believe you came to my city glad your doing well Randy you should come back and try more food especially our mexican food
It’s ok if you can’t finish your meal. We give you more than you need, or could eat, so you can take it home with you and are sustained for the next day at least for one meal.
4:05 did you say $60 holy 💩 that’s a lot for that small amount of food
i love you from the sidemen and and didn’t realize this was your vid and saw the title. i’m so happy it’s you doing this video
That BBQ guy was spitiin lmao. Love the videos
There’s only two Terry Blacks bbq, Austin and Dallas. It’s one of my faves here in Dallas the cream corn is to die for
I'm loving these toned down videos, they don't feel fake and they feel like I really get to see some more of the "real" Randyy. Keep doing what you are doing and stay strong
As soon as I saw the thumbnail, I knew exactly where this was lol. Love Terry Black’s, it’s fuckin amazing!
Just a heads up you can get what are called “crushable” or “packable” hats! They are made of a heartier wool and can be rolled up to be packed but keep their form
As a texan watching this was funny, lol. Terry blacks is by far one of the best bbq places ive ever tried.
As a Texan, this is so cool to see randy trying it. Please do more or check out more areas
I really hope this year your channel sees heights that u always dreamed of. Showing your tru self is a fast way to get genuine followers Much love randy
OMG this guy speaks 1000 words a minute.
Seeing Randy in Austin is a trip. When two worlds collide
6:45 learn somethin' new everyday
Oh my god I ate Texas BBQ for the first time today too Randy, it was sooooo good!
No way you stopped mid optic HQ tour 😂😂 I love Randy man
Been enjoying these vlogs recently
You just learned how Texas is beef-centric. For contrast, you really need to check out the Southeast, which is more pork-centric. One beef rib the size you couldn't finish is about the same amount of meat found on a rack of pork spare ribs. Seasoned differently with a more vinegar-based sauce, Southeastern barbecue is what I was raised on. A perfectly smoked beef brisket is near to heaven, I admit. Glad you enjoyed it. Now, come to Memphis or anywhere in Georgia.
I’m happy for you man, keep up the work we all love you here
Nice to see you at the Optic HQ! Been an optic fan for years. Looking forward to the pod with Hitch!! ❤
Loving these vlogs man! Life of Tom style of just filming and enjoying what you put out without worrying too much! :D and allowing yourself to show your true side, emotions and all
Welcome to the ATX Randy! Bro Terry's is so good. Let me know next time you head to Austin. I'll send you a list of spots to eat.
Randy I went to college literally right down the road from the "I love you so much" mural. My friends and I would walk down to that Homeslice Pizza place after having a few drinks. Also went to that Lucky Robot resturante on a few dates, was a a ton of fun. Austin is such an amazing city, I miss it a ton. One of my favorite places I have ever lived.
It was super nice of that dude to show you where they smoke the meat they use for the restaurant. Mega cool. 🤤
i recently went through a divorce with my ex wife and these videos of randy has helped me out a lot and made me realize i gotta keep my head up and focus on myself. would’ve loved to meet randy when he was in houston and talk to him, hopefully one day i get to meet him and thank him. keep up the great work randy, love you bro.
Love seeing you in my hometown man, hopefully you had a good time!
Man like randy love to see you smiling and living life can't wait to hear new music this year from you 🙏❤️🎵🔥
Austin City Live performance, Zilker Park for a picnic, Barton Springs for a cold dip, Mozart's for coffee, and Peche for absinthe & a good meal! All these tips for next time you visit!
Hotel ZaZa if you're looking for a fancy stay.
2:58 is a reference to a much, much more famous wall art on the record store at 21st street, "Hi, how are you"
we love you Randy! Thanks for visiting Texas! Much Love from Houston!
Loving the vlogs Randy!
Awesome tour with the Pitmaster from Terry Black's. You can tell he is passionate about what he does
Man I LOVE Davis. I will never get over how sociable he is and how comfortable he can make people feel. He’s also so handsome, sexy, and funny. What was I saying?
I love these kind of videos, it feels like im genuinely hanging out with you throughout the whole vid!!
That’s one great thing about BBQ. Everywhere you go, it’s going to be different and a different experience. Whether that’s in different states or across the pond. The guy sure knew his stuff which probably makes that place a hot spot.
Quality video Randolph
I’ve been enjoying your vlogs, Randy! I would love to see you explore and learn about more of our beautiful country.
BRO, you are so good at solo vlogging. Please keep more coming!!! Love u dude
It’s never a video without randolph eating. He defo still needs it 😢😢
You are allowed to ask for a to-go box if you have too much to finish at the restaurant. The only exception is in all-you-can-eat restaurants. When it’s all you can eat you have to eat it there.
I'm from Austin and I really don't understand the mural either I'm glad you chose to visit here though!
Respect the grind man
I’ve been waiting for every video you post Randy ❤️
I love you so much, pls don't get discouraged if views are dropping, these vlogs are amazing
Love to see you posting more, i love it
Hey Randy hope you’re doing better. love the Vlogs
wow i can watch your vlogs all day this was so calming
