Cleveland is like any older city, good and bad that comes with aging. The parks, zoo, museums, entertainment are all good. There are many sports teams and the city is big enough to find a neighborhood you will like.

I moved to Cleveland a year and a half ago for something different and because it’s relatively cheap - especially as larger cities go. But it was the lake and cultural that won it over for me ultimately.
It’s absolutely beautiful architecturally and a lot of fun!! There’s so much to do here all year long. Every season has stuff going on; including winter time. Seasonal themed activities and festivals all.year.long!
The food, the sights, the people, the pro sports, the adversity, the music venues, the museums, the colleges, the neighborhood diversity, the region itself with a few other cities neighboring, the history, and again…. the people. I love the residents around here more than any other city I’ve lived in (which includes Columbus, Louisville, Indianapolis, Chicago Metro, Memphis, etc.) or have visited and spent prolonged periods for work (DC-Baltimore, Denver, Buffalo, Boston, Seattle). Cleveland is just it for me.
It has that hometown pride that New Yorkers have, but instead of being the mega region that NYC is -- it’s more like a Wichita or New Orleans population-speaking. The passion Clevelanders have for their city, their teams, their history, and the notoriously progressive values.. make it a city to be proud to call home.
The only people that seem to criticize or bash the city always seem to be people that live elsewhere and know little to nothing of it. So much misguided, outdated, or flat out incorrect info passed around the net about the city! You’ve gotta visit and experience it yourself - that goes for anywhere. But this video did an awesome job of capturing the spirit of the town.

You guys did a good video here - I've been around most of the country - the glamorous cities with great climates are hard to beat, but they seem a little fake in some ways. Yes, Cleveland can be rough, tough & dreary - but you get the feel that it's a real city - Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, & Detroit are industrial cities that build things, make things - the raw materials that made glitzy cities like Austin, Atlanta, Orlando, & Miami came from N.E. Ohio, PA, NY, MI. Cle, Pit, Det, Buf steel, rubber, glass, cement made other cities possible - and now with Cle & Pit diversifying into tech/medical centers in addition to the large skilled work force - that's respectable. Cle has a lot to offer for all 4 seasons. A big improvement needed is a more extensive light rail system - a rapid that goes out to Lorain, Akron/Canton, up to Mentor/Painesville & connect the outer ring suburbs with their own line w/o having to go downtown - that would be great to go anywhere w/o a car - the Cle region is a great place to raise a family -

@@bigmike208McDizzle Here’s the thing about Cleveland. It is a compact city. You shift from one neighborhood to another in a matter of minutes. Yes, there are “safe” neighborhoods, but you are never far from what is considered an unsafe neighborhood. Is there a lot of crime? Yes. The statistics bear that out. However, I lived there for over four years, working in the St Clair Superior Neighborhood for a nonprofit, and travelling to the most low income neighborhoods in the city every single day. There is crime that has more to do with people who have vendettas against each other, domestic violence, gang-on-gang crime that has nothing to do with tourists. That said, you need to use your head. I never had a problem. I didn’t leave stuff in my car. I was aware of my surroundings. I didn’t hang out after dark in neighborhoods that had a reputation for violence. I stayed out of East Cleveland, but more because the cops are corrupt than anything the residents would do. Ohio City? Detroit Shoreway? The Circle? Going to see a show in the Theatre District? You’ll most likely be fine. In that way, it’s not much different than any other city with wild swings in economic opportunity among its population.

Cleveland snow is overrated. Sure it's a northern city so of course it snows, But it's not Chicago and it sure isn't Minnesota. The only thing is that it has "the snow belt", an area on the east side that gets dumped on due to lake effect. But that's like seeing an alligator infested swamp and saying:" Yep, that's Florida".

Yes. This channel is propaganda. People in Cleveland have great morale but it doesn't change the fact that you'll have a bad living standard living there. Unless you already come from old Shaker Heights, Bay Village or Pepper Pike money and have a trust fund like many white people there do, you're going to deal with substantially lower wages compared to other Ohio cities and unprovoked racism from bitter blacks. Cleveland is in decline
There is rampant crime, shooting, many of the neighborhoods are in decline. You are taxed to death, the winters are terrible. Can't wait to leave the area. Not well paying jobs, it's really depressing. Been in and out of Cleveland since the 50's it's just going down hill

Right off the bat, you said the biggest con to living in Cleveland is snow, WTF, ITS THE HORRIBLE SCHOOL SYSTEM, with absolutely terrible kids, sent your well mannered little Johnny to cleveland public schools, and he'll come home full of culture, by the time he's in junior high, he will be out of control, this is and always has been the main reason cleveland is a horrible dying city, no one is saying that there aren't nice improved areas like Tremont, w 65th is great, university circle etc, other then that most of the city is real bad, that's the truth, its called white and black flight

Ok...enjoyed the video. Very wise to film on the one day that the sky was blue and the sun was visible. I moved to Cleveland from Arizona in the mid-2000s and after spending a few years there, ran back to the southwest. Regarding the pro's; the food around Cleveland is very good. The only exception is mexican cuisine, every place I tried was truly awful. All your other points seemed a bit under-rated. It snows...but more than that...it's cold and gray. All the time! The sky is gray, the streets are gray, the buildings are gray, and the people are gray. Yes, Cleveland is on a big lake...which smells and the beaches are littered with dead fish, diapers and feminine hygiene products. Housing is very inexpensive...because the houses are old, drafty, and haunted. You can get a huge house on the cheap, because it only has one bathroom and a moldy basement. Yes, the cav's won a championship, but what happened to the guy who got them the trophy? LeBron moved out west. Finally, one thing not mentioned, but kinda allude to is an understated prejudice culture...Indians/ Guardians...seems native Clevelanders aren't really ready to move forward. In addition, my Hispanic-American family was continually asked "what are you?"... "are you American?"..."can you make tortillas?" No, joke. Overall, Cleveland is not the worst place to live nor a 'mistake'; however, you might want to do a deeper dive prior to committing to Northeast Ohio. At least it's not Detroit! God bless

Mission Possible: The future of Downtown Cleveland is strong due to the demand for living
From luxury apartments to single-family homes, will this housing demand continue?
CLEVELAND - “Downtown is both our front door as well as the living room for the region,” said the President and CEO of the Greater Cleveland Partnership, Baiju Shah.
Whether it's tourism, or companies looking to relocate, the first stop in Northeast Ohio is downtown Cleveland. For years, developers have dangled luxury lifestyles, with a view. But how many apartments can downtown support?
“We don't have a demand problem. We have a supply problem. There's plenty of demand. We need more supply,” said the President and CEO of the Downtown Cleveland Alliance, Michael Deemer.
That's the consensus of a housing study by the Downtown Cleveland Alliance and Greater Cleveland Partnership. While parts of the city are losing residents, downtown's population is growing. Downtown Cleveland's population is currently up 22% from ten years ago, making it a hot market.
“I think it's a signal that the demand is absolutely there to developers and investors,” said Shah. “We need more apartments, but we also need more for sale housing throughout downtown and greater downtown.”
Developers like Berges Home Performance see the need. They are finishing West 20th and Smith, a 14-home project in Duck Island, that's where Cleveland, Tremont and Ohio City converge.
“It's just a hot spot to be. And, you know, you might not you might not know it from the outside just looking in. But once you live here, you understand why,” said Matt Berges, owner of Berges Home Performance.
Berges builds custom homes, which the study says is needed. At only 6%, Cleveland trails behind cities like Cincinnati, Columbus and Detroit in downtown homeownership.
“I'm a small builder. We're doing 12 to 24 houses a year,” said Berges. “And so, the demand is plenty sufficient for our operation. We're selling two per month. I think we sold three this week actually.”
The population growth over the next decade means housing projects currently in the pipeline would need to nearly double to keep up with demand. But building takes time. Berges has been working on West 20th and Smith for seven years.
“We can't react quickly to demand shifts. We just have to speculate half the time on when this demand is coming or going,” said Berges.
Downtown living is attracting residents, and not just because of a job. The study found half of the population travels outside the city for work.
“That, to me, was the biggest surprise, is that they're choosing to live in downtown and greater downtown because of the neighborhood, because of the amenities, the lifestyle that they're seeking, not because of proximity to work,” said Shah.
Both organizations believe a strong downtown translates into a stronger region, with signs pointing to a brighter future.
“Growth is not only happened, growth is going to continue to happen because of the demand for this specific geography within our metropolitan area,” said Shah.
“The report sends a very validating signal that we've created that kind of environment in downtown Cleveland. We need to double down on it and really complete that transformation,” said Deemer.
Over 37,000 people call downtown Cleveland and the near west side home, which is the area the study looked at. It is the faster growing residential downtown in the state of Ohio.
    Take care and God bless
