Born and raised in Solon, my parents still live there. Solon is exactly fine. You'll get a good education and there's tons of diversity, but unless you play sports, you're seen as an outcast, especially in high school. Nothing really for kids to do in Solon, so drug use and drinking is very prevalent. Solon has gone downhill over the past few years. Downtown Solon is notably run down looking compared to other wealthy NE OH suburbs. Overall, if I were to move back to Cleveland, I'd choose Hudson or Aurora...
You must live in the city of Solon or the village of Glenwillow for your child to attend the Solon Schools but I didn’t know about that “small portion” of the city. I’ll have to look into it.
Haha, I live here and graduated from the high school. My family got a really good deal on our house over a decade ago, and some of our neighbors have sold theirs recently for well over double what we paid. I'm quite the spirited driver however - just be careful around here since Solon Police are everywhere!
@Brent McCulley Damn how many tickets did you get? I graduated 11 years after you. Got a radar detector cuz I got a huge ticket one night, and I realized Solon cops are pretty clever, since they have their radar off most of the time, and only turn it on to clock people. It's called "instant-on" radar.
Bedford is a decent little city. Very affordable, crime isn't to bad, schools are decent. Not really a whole lot to do besides the Bedford Reservation which is really nice. Broadway Ave (main st) is mainly a car dealership strip and the downtown is quaint, but not much to do.
Solon residential annual tax as a percent of market value is 2.32%. This is among the nation's highest rates, even higher than the average rate charged in New Jersey, which has the highest real estate tax rate in the United States. This is on top of state and local income taxes. Ouch!
Moving to Solon?! Schedule a phone call with me to talk about buying/selling real estate!

We retired to Solon after living in S. Maryland. Solon is a joy to live in🏖
Solon is a nice suburb. But I'm partial to the west side. Olmsted Falls, Westlake, Rocky River.
Yeah, I really like Crocker Park! Nice area
As a student, I couldn’t live in a better place than Solon.
Good to hear! I didn’t graduate from Solon but the Schools are top notch😁
Solon is awesome! Love the vid!
HEYYY!!!!! thank you :)
What people don’t know is that there is small portion of Solon that does NOT belong to the Solon school district. Be sure to check this before moving
